Miners is a hybrid tag/survival map in which a group of miners attempts to escape a cave plagued by ravenous spiders. To do this, they must break rocks to get to the other side of the map. Rocks contain useful resources that miners can build structures and craft items with.

Mining, however, is no easy task! There are many challenges facing miners, such as falling rocks, acid fountains, and fissures that spread lava throughout the cave. Miners must avoid these hazards with tact in order to stay alive.

There are currently 5 miners to choose from:
The Goblin - Master of explosives. Mines best by using explosive barrels to blow rocks to pieces. Can build useful sentry turrets and craft various rockets and grenades.
The Kobold - A straightforward miner who uses picks and shovels to break rocks. Kobolds can build walls to keep spiders out of your bases, as well as huts to house additional miners and warriors.
The Gnome - A trusty mechanic capable of building powerful tanks to assist with mining and fighting. Can craft various guns and armor to adorn its tanks with.
The Dwarf - A sturdy supportive fighter that can build structures to enhance mining capabilities and fortify your base's defenses. Can craft useful equipment to augment his fighting capabilities.
The Elf - A mystical miner that specializes in botany. The elf's trees are very alive and can move from place to place, although they need fertile ground to stand on or their health will deteriorate.
The game is quite different for spiders. While there is still an emphasis on mining for resources, the spiders' goal is to stop the miners from leaving the cave at all costs. The spiders have various tools and units at their disposal for keeping miners down.

There are currently 5 spiders to choose from:
The Tarantula - A melee fighter that can call spiders to itself and unleash them on the enemy in swarms. The tarantula can also eat a spider to regain health and send itself into a frenzy!
The Nerubian - A ranged fighter that can fire at loose rocks in the ceiling, bringing them crashing down over the enemy. Nerubians also have acidic breath that can corrode buildings.
The Arachnid - A sneaky melee fighter that can hide in the shadows to surprise the enemy. Arachnids are very limber as well, and are skilled at disarming opponents.
The Giant Spider - A strong melee fighter that invigorates nearby spiders, giving them an insatiable lust for blood. If it gets close enough, the Giant Spider can also lay eggs in its opponents, which hatch when their hosts die.
The Mechanical Spider - A hybrid fighter that can toggle between strong melee attacks, and slightly weaker ranged attacks. Mechanical spiders are also capable of generating powerful shockwaves.
Fans of the Miners map may notice some differences from the versions they used to play. In the most popular english version, 1.42.0, there are no sulfur veins and there is no lava. Both of these are new to this version line, although they were added by the team before me. However, I have added many things and balance changes to the map since I've started working on it. Here's a rundown of the most notable changes I've made:

-Remade the loading screen!
-Added 2 new miners (Dwarf and Elf)
-Added 2 new spiders (Giant Spider, Mechanical Spider)
-Moved hero select from dialogs to buildings (the archway in the top left corner for miners, the hatchery for spiders)
-Added a new element to itemization: diamond enhancements! Diamonds are a rare drop from all rock types and can be used on your items to give them more power.
-Added a command with which miners can vote to give inexperienced spiders a bonus (-spiderbonus to vote for it, #spiderbonus to retract said vote)
-Added a lot of fun sounds, playable with sound commands! (type -sounds for a list of sounds, type -sounds off/on to disable/enable sounds for yourself)
-Added a warning for players that pick the Goblin Miner that tells them that their explosives can damage allies
-Shifted the goblin's combat power away from explosive barrels (still effective) and towards items (the fireworks launcher in particular)
-Fixed an infamous bug with the Gnome miner that allowed for spiders to take control of the gnome's tanks
-Added camera rumbles for players that are standing near a rock that's about to collapse + a more intense rumble when the rock falls
-Added shadows under all impending collapses
-Added a new rock type: Fossil (strength, loot, and experience gain in between Rock and Granite, 50% chance to drop sulfur, and has a chance to spawn 1-2 enemy ghouls when broken)
-Added a warning for when miners come close to the Hatchery
-Added a small life regeneration aura to the Hatchery
-Added hero glow to all miners/spiders
-Added a red screen flash on death for when miners die
To conclude, it's been a very challenging time to update Miners, and I'm sure it will continue to present me challenges, but it's been very fun and rewarding, and I am very excited to finally share my work with the community. Attach that in the map thread description please. But the problem is I can't tell who the person you are talking with is.

hmm that person isn't listed as an author on the miners website so naw I didn't GOBLINWORKSHOP.RU

the person I was talking to there is madcat92 (but I censored the email because internet)

EDIT: the guy from the other post seems to have only been in charge of translating the map from russian to english, so I feel like asking him for permission shouldn't be necessary, especially given that I had to translate the map I was sent from russian to english myself (although he is credited on my loading screen because in a very small amount of translations, I did reference his work to make sense of what google translate gave me)

Well, I want to make sure that is the case. You should contact him and also show that you are indeed talking to one of the authors. Censorship won't help. He is the first from the list. I kind of tend to be pretty sure he didn't just translate.

Lovely map overall. Good thing it's being kept stable.
A gripe is the gray text that's hardly readable on some item descriptions like Sulfur.
Pilots need to be near vehicles to actually get in; they don't know how to do it if they are ordered from a distance.

ADDITIONAL NECESSARY INFORMATION
  • A credits list in the map thread description is required where the names of the resource (models, skins, icons, spells, sound etc.) authors are mentioned along with the specific resource. It would be a luxury to have links leading to the used resources. Credits in the Quest Log would be appreciated too.
  • A detailed changelog in the first post would be helpful to reviewers and notify fans about the newest implementations to your map.
  • Map thread tags are important. Please use those that fit and not more or none.
