The turret is good! Make it animate good as well! About the models, I need them fast, if possible in the next 2 hours and they are really easy I suppose cause they are attachments and need no animations or something, but just some work. Try using in-game textures. The tree texture, grass and some other green on could be great for the helmet and hat! As for the headband make it red! The farmer hat could use the skin of the farmhouses roof. I didnt find any model of farmer hat so you need to make me one :p! Good luck and show us the progress of them!

Well you are the less involved guy in it, so you could be one of the testers. You are making the camera system and this is considered involvement in the making, but you could be our tester as well! Testers Team Is gonna be added in the first post!

I will test, but first i have to remove doodads to see the triggers xd itll take a while ill post my opinion in a sec
Edit: i find the system nice, but you should only create the barracks if players are playing, anyways that for finishing the map for now its very imaginative and original.Im gonna check the triggers now
Edit2: i've not inspected to much but the triggers leak i guess im gonna try to remake them to not leak.ill send you the map with doodads dont worry.

Luthion, I think you can also help as you are not involved a lot in the map making, but you guys will only work with the Alpha Test. Beta Test will be done by some members of the Alpha Test team and some of new ones! So you and RolePlaynGamer will be only in Alpha Test Team and in Beta only if we have lakc of ppl!

It doesn't. It looks like a noob attempt to make chuck norris. And polycount goes crazy, like it did for your worms model (it is still huge), I could've made the model like that with 300 or less triangles. In warcraft III every triangle counts. NEVER EVER USE ANY KING OF SMOOTHING!. Topology is vital to any model, and in wc3 topology is completely screwed when high poly. Also, try placing as many of those high poly units you want and see what you get. Meshsmoothing is not used in any games, it is used for RENDER ONLY. If you want to make model detailed, put your time into it, dont rush + meshsmooth. It looks horrible. Not to people who are clueless about modelling, but to people with knowledge.

So meshsmoothing == nono

OK, the testing thing is gonna need about 10 ppl but I think we can find them. I am w8ing for a review. If you like rep everyone who hasd helped till now especially Velm who needs it ;)! You're a very respected member of THW that's why I ask for your opinion.

i don't see the point of this! The polycount, doesnt go crazy and without the meshsmooth the mesh just looks cornered and edged. In my opinion meshsmooth looks great, and if you would model the mesh more detailed the polycount would also increase.

hmm i think the lighting of the mesh looks also much greater!

tell me one thing: do you model everything from a box or do you use other primitives too?
 
I tend to use cylinder for body base (bad habit, dont do this!) But, for most things I use box. I used box before, to model meshes, but then I realized that using a cylinder with 8 edges wont take too many polies (around 16) but will look much nicer and easier to unwrap. Lightning isn't as important in wc3, since it is screwed most of the time.

Yes, but then you would get some DETAIL in return. By meshsmoothing all you get is SMOOTH mesh, nothing like detail. Also, mind you, that models with more faces take more space, and less the filesize of your model is, more you can import without caring about the map size too much. Basically, I tend to cut each face that ruins the topology, or is unneccesarry, unless, offcourse, I am modeling for my own soul.

Hawk07, I don't know when I am going to play it though, I am rather busy now :/

here it is it's finished but the bottom building are a little funny i have to change the angles, i changed your triggers they are leakless i guess, and made simpler ways of making them
If you want to test the triggers just take off the (picked player controller equal to user) part in each trigger and open war3 and put full users or just some, this trigger uses just 2 regions to make 12 barracks, this is to decrease the number of regions and not mess any other map space you may need with regions, good luck.Ill try fixing the bug later(the bottom barracks are disaligned) thats got to do with degrees but for now its not too serious.
Check the triggers, if you don't understand something(of course you will your an experienced map maker) ask me
P.S.:I've not tested the map with doodads but i believe they wont mess it all up xD
Edit: OMG darkhunter thats much better, now i can see the difference between the teams. Very good work"!

The system of Luthion is better but Luth, I wanna ask about the region thingy: do all the barracks of the same team build at the same place or in a row?

EDIT 2: The system of creating the barracks in the beginning is really awful as they appear wherever they want!
The only way to fix this is make region for each player OR make the barracks smaller, which we dont intend doing, so fix it plz!

EDIT 3: W8 If we make the regions bigger it may work better. Dont fix nothing yet!

Ummm they do, top team barracks grown in horizontal row on top-right corner of map and bottom team barracks grow in vertical row in bttom left of the map(but bottom is bugged because i couldnt get the right degrees)
Edit: remember how you had them before? it's exactly like that but they only grow if the players are playing and if like player one and player 3 are playing and player 2 isnt , this system makes so there isn't an ugly space between them!

Ok, I will check with bigger regions and we will see if it is ok!

EDIT: You must fix this. Just make regions for each player cause I will need them for more things, like player respawn etc. So it is useless to try making less regions as we will need them in the future!

umm ok thats easy i was just not trying to mess up your regions ill fix it right away!

Why not mess them up, when we need about 5 regions for each player? We will just use the ones we make for the barracks and save place while we make all triggers work smoothly always! Just upload it in the next 30 mins so that I can fix some more things add some more details and upload for Velm to finish the remaining terrain!

EDIT: And one more thing - It's not my regions, it's our regions! We are a team and we share everything in the map! You are a member of the team!

EDIT 2: Velm dont make terrain till we upload next version. I need it done by tomorrow, in about 20 hours from this very post. So when we upload you will have about 18-19 hours to complete the terraining and after that and the attachments from Lord-T-Rex, there will be coming new screenies! A really big bunch of them!

Edit: If you find any bug tell me!i've added all regions to an array avriable for easier loop acess, good luck i've got to go eat now, if there's a bug probably you can fix it!good luck!
Edit2: i took 32 minutes but its because of my crappy computer cause when i was saving it crashed cause of a syntax error and i had to remake it all good luck again gonna go eat

OK, just make the latest changes to the triggers Luthion asap. I only have 5 minutes left. Make changes and send to me so that I can make the final changes for today. Velm, we are done with terraining. Good job! Now rest till we need your help again!

I could do some simple doodads in model editor. I'm gonna test few ideas i got about worms. I'll rest when I get inspiration for my rpg. Its development is 2 years long because I wait for inspirations lol.

LOL, Just downloaded the map to mod it and start more of the units!

EDIT: Velm w8 for about 2 hours for me to do some work and afterwards I will give it to you to keep working on the terrain while I will make some more of the units. I need you to w8 cause the imports and exports are hard to do right now with so much data missing from the modded terrain map you sent me!

Gonna be afk for 2 hours so....!


EDIT 2: Back and ready for more? 30%+ guys! Good job till now! I am importing the new version and I think the terrain is already too good to improve more.

Velm, the terraining is done and we need no more changes! (I fear it will be too big for an AoS-styled map, so better let it remain as it is!)
I will now assign your new task: Ideas on skills, items etc.

ANNOUNCEMENT:
I want every each of you to give me an item idea + the icon you choose for it + the effects it will have + some more things on it! And I need it to have a name including your name like "Hawk07-AG123" which will be a powerful tool to destroy enemies! Surpsise!



EDIT 3: Made the first Hero! I will re-upload!

BAZOOKA SPECIALIST:
Big damage, average cooldown, medium life and mana! This Hero will be one of the 4-5 types of different Heroes of the map that will be customised via skills! The others are:
SHOTGUN SPECIALIST
SABOTAGE SPECIALIST
EXPLOSIVES SPECIALIST
SUICIDE SPECIALIST
and probably one more guy...
Each one will have the armory skills with the basic weaponry and things alike and some extra special weapons for each class of them.
Every single one will need a different strategy and some special items.

Items will be level-based probably and many will have recipes to create them. Other will be enchantable and they will all focus on skills!

MELEE SPECIALIST, medium damage, low cooldown, medium life and mana
Must have fast moving and stunning skills, else he would be too weak against other ranged heroes.Hope it helps!
Edit: Skill idea: Fire Punch! Punches the target into the air burning him for 20 secs and stunning him for 3 secs, good for barbecues!
Edit2: i have a question, are we alowed to use other peoples models(giving credits of course) or just our modeler's models?
Edit3:Skill idea:Burning boots! triples the unit's movement for 20 seconds, good for avoiding grenades!
