Nah, We won't survive so long. Basically if there won't be any meteor shit or super novas then Earth will die cause resources would be emptied. But hell... I can bet we will have spaceships and we would live in different world...

Err yeah the moon is pretty dead, water doesn't make it not dead, hell its an object orbiting earth, its not even animate, it doesn't fall under dead/alive just inhabitable/uninhabitable. But again there's an assumption that we absolutely must inhabit other worlds to survive in our solar system, but whats to stop disaster occurring on these other worlds as badly as it may have occurred on Earth to warrant departure from it. There are very large hazards in settling in a new places on our own planet, much less a whole new world. And even moreso a new friggin system, the variables are just too many to speculate about currently.

People, people, calm down! Everyone knows that if the most possible apocalypse (That sunray burst of Doom thingy) will happen, the temperature on the Mars will become high enough for people to live and all the ice on Mars will melt, turning into water! Or at least we will be saved by purple magical flying elephant.

Nah, satellites of Jupiter(Europa, Ganimed, Kallisto, Io)will get hotter, the awesome mass of water on them will melt and the planets will become warmer! And the Mars is the second variant. However it doesnt have much water.

honestly, in my opinion, nothing will happen on 2012 because they said the exact same thing during WW I and II. i just think that eventually, not in any of our lifetimes, that the world probably going to be devastated by nuclear war/extreme global warming

You do realize the difference between the words "former" and "latter," don't you? Oh, wait, that's right. You don't.

Just peachy, act like a douche to make yourself look smart

And "extreme global warming" is just the image that those opposing Global Warming want you to see since it's so completely wrong. The actual problem is that a few degree raise in temperature could cause some major problems (like ice melting in area's where it's never melted before). It's not that we're all going to burn in the heat, it's other things like flooding - which though devastating, are survivable. And I don't think the world would mind if a few places sank into the ocean lol

Even if world would end on 2012 and you actually knew it you as an individual couldn't do anything to stop it.

Even though i would like to think that i will live out my life before the world ends you can just live and enjoy everyday on this planet.

That kind of atitude is wrong. What if those flood come to your land and you lose all your property, your house and need to move to a different land? I guess you would worry then now, wouldn't you?

The biggest problem with the global warning is a Ecodisaster where the whole ecosystem as we know it could exist no more and may actually stop existing due to specie extinction.

Nice job telling me things I already know, dude!

Also, I was not acting like a douche imo, neither was I trying to make myself look smart. >_>

I wouldn't mind if Norway (that's where I live) sank into the ocean. Really, it's a crappy country. Same goes for most of Europe. England would sink too, though, which is bad. :/

A good portion of humanity (I don't remember the figure, but it's around 1/3) lives in costal areas. That makes Global Warming, and flooding, a large problem. With nearly a third of the world's population displaced, crowding would quickly become a huge problem. Those people will flee to other cities, not go make a new one.
Global Warming could also destroy most ecosystems. Fungal diseases, for example, are sensitive to temperature and could rapidly spread to areas they never have before. The polar ecosystems, at least, would die out as those regions shrunk and become completely different than they have been for untold centuries. Most creatures aren't nearly as adaptable as humans (the only other known life getting anywhere near would be dogs), and so those creatures would die.

See, unfriendly :p gonna start going around and pointing out every time you're a jerk for no reason XP

As for the topic at hand, I got my money on the Zombie apocalypse and then the Robot apocalypse to actually finish us off... see how I see it, we're gonna raise the dead, and then our top scientists will make these badass robots to wipe out the zombies, however they'll turn on us after a time. Then humanity will be wiped out, it's all in the circle of life. :p

I would think Zombies are exempt from the circle of life

nah not exempt, they're just an offshoot... cause I mean death is a part of the circle of life, and technically they're dead so they're a part of the circle of life :p

Maybe we will die. Maybe we won't. There is always a chance of it, and the media always focuses on some world ending event every day, every year, every decade. Once upon a time, many people thought the world was going to become the one envisioned in George Orwell's 1984 because all the signs pointed towards it and it made perfect sense. But it didn't. All things considered, the world is a funny place when things don't go as we all think it will...

The Mayans believed that the time was divided in several cycles and at the end of each cycle a major disaster would hit Earth etc, etc, and that the end of this cycle (number 4 or 5) would be at 21.12.12 11:00 GMT+1. The reason for why they believed this was because they studied the stars and managed to predict when the planets would be aligned and some other shit. Can't remember all the details as I saw this on Discovery Channel several months ago where they spoke with a descendant of the Mayans.

How the world will end? Simple answer: Human stupidity, were bound to blow each other up and or induce a biological warfare that screws our species over. I do not know when this will happen but knowing humans on the galactic scale it could be very soon.
