Though the project seems a bit shaky, I do show a fair amount of interest in it. What help do you need?
 
luffy, if by interesting you mean the chance of world peace, and a Alliance/Horde treaty. Quests wont just be kill this and get that item, while there is no set quests yet they will most likely be more revealing of the storyline. You are constantly moving areas, not spending days on one area.

Fan, ive been on your map dev thread remember? Anyways its more than good enough for this. Suggestion though, build from the water up. Start with deep water and go form there. That way there is no cliff between land and water. Husidu, im checking it out now. Im sure its fine.
 
Well maybe there is a way to make it more fun. At point X the hero manages to declare piece betwen the horde and the alliance and to prove the alliance betwen the both factions to be a strong one he takes help from the most hated race amongst the humans, the forsaken. Sylvanas suggesting one of her finnest dark generals. (Now since dark ranger generals are selected by Sylvanas and are almost only high elfs that served with her during the assault on Quel'Thalas. Also amongst the high elves it was not uncommon for warriors and rangers to practise magic, Veréesa Windrunner for example knew magic. So it wouldn't neceserly be impossible for the dark ranger to know about magic and therefor be able to heal the player while at the same tie be a champion who's quick with the blade.) Now at point Y the dark ranger manages to capture the hero and turns him/her into a servent of the banshe queen Sylvanas Windrunner. Now with the hero as her slave she intends to take controll over the entire Azeroth on her own, taking advantage of the war in the north. Now at point Z the hero manages to reclaim free will trying to kill someon famous like perhaps Kalecgos or Fordring. During this event the hero will be able to choose whether or not he wants to fight for powers or for others.

I'm hopping that this suggestion becomes a part of the map since it will show the truth and the truth is that being a hero is an option. This would also be nice to see since it will show us that you'll take a step back from the real wow lore but still keeping to it.

Other suggestion(yeah I can give suggestions to the project too):
Horde and Alliance make peace under the condition that horde and alliance troops serve in each others armies(come on who would want human footman and orc grunts fighting together killing undead forsaken soldiers?).
Horde/Alliance army marches north liberating Forsaken land before setting sail to the icey tip of the world Northrend.

Gameplay will allow player to control a small army like in warcraft 3 but only certain units(no training more) and only certain areas.

Updates: Creeps added to the small mine and Northshire(I cant do anymore... my netbook is too slow to handle that big of a map. If anyone else wants to finish adding creeps please let me know. I can still do the items and loot.)

Husidu, nice mine I think it looks fine.
 
Okej let me ask you this, the alliance and the horde creates an alliance and the alliance attack Sylvanas and her people. Wouldn't that create another conflict betwen the two factions since I dont think Thrall, Cairne or Vol'Jin would stand for it.
 
sylvanas? forsaken were good undead, as far as I concerned. Actually, having Sargeras led a final burning legion invasion himself and all the factions of Azeroth (including scourge) defend the world of Azeroth against Sargeras would be an ultimate good ending. Sargeras should be finished totally this time (not only his physical appearance, also his soul too). I can imagine Arthas (or whatever lich king you choose for that period of time) saying:"yes, together we collapsed the greatest threat for the universe ever, but don't ever think that this make us allies further. We will meet again, and don't forget this." lol
 
How about Sylvanas taking controll over the scourge after the destrucion of Ner'Zhul? And no if anything I think that the mortal forces unite with the dragons and storms N'Zath in the emerald dreams.
 
damn.. sorry I read your original post wrong. It sounds like a good idea lowe. I meant to put scourge in my post not forsaken.

It would be Lich King, this storyline takes place in its own dimension. It would be several years after the scourge started its invasion.

Anyone know why Arthas abandoned the Human kingdom to rule over a bunch of rotting corpses?
 
Well since the member of the forsaken is members of the scourge who have gained free will so it would be possible for Sylvanas to use that as a wepon.

And does my idea really seem to make no sense? This is how it will go
Sylvanas destroy the soul of Ner'Zhul clensing all the controll the lich king ever had of the scourge and then leads them under her banner trying to make paradise for the undead race. If you know your lore well an undead is a who serves in the scourge is someone who can no longer controll his body, even tho the persons soul is still untouched the body is controlled by the lich king. So by destroying the soul of Ner'Zhul the lich king will be destroyed and have no power over anyone leaving the undeads who serve him either turn to Sylvanas and try to live amongst the forsaken or killing themselves not being able to live with the horrifying truth.

what are you talking about? burning legion and scourge are two different factions, burning legion is kinda horde of demons led by sargeras, and scourge were doing their dirty job until the annihilation of archimonde and end of the war.

I'm doing it with deep water all the time, i've never used blizzard cliffs a long time now.

Anyway, about the burning legion, the scourge is actually a little part of the legion, earlier controlled by demon lords like mal ganis etc.
The lich kig, ner'zhul, was bound in the armor of the lich king because his fail in azeroth or so, but he was able to break free of the legions will.
 
do you mean the tileset? if so it really doesnt matter, for mines you would be using dirt and rock anyways.

New Idea!: Your hero starts with ONE spell. After that it has to collect spellbooks to gain new abilities(all one level no need for points to learn).
If you want to unlearn the spell drop the book. If you want to relearn, pick up the book or re-loot it.

New Items:
Location - Mine
ItemA - lesser healing potion
effect - heal 200 hp
chance - 25%
dropped by - kobold, kobold tunneler, kobold taskmaster

ItemB - Rare Ruby
Desc - A ruby, but not just any ruby. It was mined with perfection and shined. A ruby of this quality is rare and is very valuable.
chance - 2%
kobold, kobold tunneler

ItemC - Crude Power Orb
effect - +1 to damage
desc - Your energy get channeled into the orb and amplified a bit. This one is crude so it gives a low damage bonus. Multiple Power Orbs can be equiped at once.
dropped by - Kobold Geomancer
chance - 100% (always dropped)

ItemD - Taskmaster's Staff
Desc - Staff used by a Kobold Taskmaster. It was used to beat kobolds that werent working well enough. There is still blood stains on it.
effect - damage + 5 only allowed ONE
chance - 100%
dropped by - Kobold Taskmaster

i really like the spellbook idea

but i think there should be a limit

maybe a equip system, with a special part for spells, in gameprogress u may get more spellplaces
 
I dont know how to do an equip system, if I did the inventory limit would be increased too. My triggerer... well idk if they are even working on the transfer or inventory system. I get no progress reports at all and they have been working since I started this project.

Anyways updates for the mine:
heal potion chance is now 40%
taskmaster staff effect added and only able to have one
potion now stackable (no limit yet)
creep respawns added

This sounds like great project , mby this will work like DotA ,

I can say that i am waiting for beta and demo versions , and if you need , i can be a part of beta testers. Would be very honor to be a small part of this project , and to know that even i helped in a way.
 
monkey do you know The Kingdom of Kaldrion (spelled right? :D short its Tkok)
It has an awesome eq system maybe someone can create one that is like that one, spells included
if not, there are easy triggers to create a big bagpack for you hero

medium mine will be finished tomorrow
i think 2 mines are enough the big mine would be to big
 
ill check it out husidu and yeah we can use the med mine for both the mines outside northshire(jasperlode and fargodeep) with a very changes.

Rein, yeah you can be a tester. However it will be a while until its released.

Updates:

These plus copper ore will be added into the mine like in wow. EXCEPT you dont need the mining skill :)

EDIT: Editing Anachron's equip system to use in this project. Its got slots for different armor plus an inventory. Problem is its in Jass.... I dont know any but Im going to try and learn now :)

How about a quest in the kobold mine where there's a boss protectected by a magical ward that will be removed if the hero deactivates X number of altars protected by kobold folowers?
 
far as I know, kobolds have no religion :P so they wont have altars... The only bosses would be the taskmasters. Not a bad concept though... idk I will see what comes to mind. BTW the equip system im doing is simple but will take a bit longer then I thought.

Bad thing is I wont be able to put it into the map until SOMEBODY finishes the map to map transfers AHH!!!
Anyways... When the armor slots are filled it will give the coreponding amounts of armor and whatever other bonus that item gives.

yeah i sugesstet also an eq system for the spells since from my point of view this idea is awesome

but the pots shouldnt have a droprate of 40% (or were it 25% now?)
maybe some food and potions at a lower dropchance like 10% therefore consumable stuff like bread and milk

I also like the idea of the "altairs", maybe in form of some idols, which protect a kobold leader.
My mine is very twisty so this would be easy to do ;)

Husidu, I will do both of those things. Right now I just want to get the equipment system finished and that transfer done. Im still trying to get the transfer myself but every time I make a campaign for it, It shows a black screen with the campaign title and a back button... Nothing else.

edit: nvm forgot to add buttons :)

Quest - Kobold Uprisings
Desc - Kobolds are in a state of war with us. They are tired of being exterminated for the vermin they are. Several peasants have noticed the Kobolds training soldiers for war.
Objective - Kill 10 Kobold footmen and 1 Kobold General.

ITS ALIVEEE!!!!! I got the transfer working. FINALLY! Anyways Im working on the equip system now.

Mhm a quest sugesstion:

1. kill some kobolds arround the abbey also wolves
2. Talk to the priest
3. take a book from the library in the abbey
4. slay some bandits
5. go in the mine and talk with bla
6. bla wants that u kill x
7. bla sends u to the priest (then the priest will tell u that ure the chosen one :D)

Now the gate to the rest of elwynn will be opened

just a sugesstion ;)
 
maybe do a quest system for buyable stuff in areas.

eg: you are in westfall did 20 quests now ure able to buy x and y from every human vendor, like a honor system but more simple :D

Anyways to come with a suggestion you should make ALOT of quests which involves how it's going for the alliance betwen the Alliance and the Horde, since it will be alot of arguments specially betwen the forsaken and the human forces since the alliance claimes northern Lorderon as their belonging.
