Alright, little tweaks, can I get some other critiques on the terrain? And also another idea I had that could be considered a mountain since in fact pyramids are very large...

Greetings !

Got a day off from duty so i decided to check out the hiveworkshop for once, and then i saw this comp  Was a long time since i last did something so this is my contribution so far. Still a WIP but if don't get any more free time this will be my final.

Hope you like it, for those who can't see it resembles a old nerubian Cave or something like that

What the native civilizations of the Americas built were ziggurats with incredibly large steps and one to four stairways leading upwards. The Egyptian pyramids are build the way Famous made his: with smaller steps.

Arawr.

I've been to Egypt and climbed up the pyramids a bit. Pyramids weren't made for climbing. They were burial places. The top of the pyramid is supposed to represent the sun, and the four edges represent the rays of the sun, or something like that.

They are definitely 45o angles. I saw some light show on them and everything.

Pyritie, you've been to Egypt? Ive always wanted to go to the Egyptian pyramids. So far, the Mayan pyramids are the only only ones Ive been to. I can tell you that the Mayan buildings were steep with hard to balance on stairs. They were mostly shrine and temples. The temples of the Warriors were more in the design of the Temple of Zeus in Greece. But the Mayan temples (or castles) sometimes had a specific shrine to a god built into them. Also, the Mayans loved their decoration due to their superstition.

And then MadseN came along. But it just doesn't look that good. Better than my Volcano by far but anyway not better then your others.

Welcome MadseN! I think I would like the terrain, but it's hard to see. I find it confusing. As it stands, I can't see it doing well.

Been out a few days, brewing a stew of terrainial genius you might say.

And for you doubters, anyone can win, whether you're well known or not.

Everytime you say, 'o noes it's madsen, o noes ht spare meee' you feed the system.

Duh they are amazing terrainers, and i love them all... but take your time, learn from them, and beat em.

Mario wasn't always Super Mario, he elevated himself to that status.
Alexander the Great and Napolean were just pushing 5ft.
Beowulf swam in a freezing sea for months fighting sea serpents, and didnt cry once.
Jesus didnt mope when Santa Claus took his holiday.
Hilary Clinton couldn't make it to the big dance, but thank god for that.

En garde!

Strong words, I give you that. And I completely agree. My entry was the first to come in this, so I can't really change it, nor do I want, cause quite frankly, I think it is better than both MadseN and HT's.

I sense another WIP!
And here it is.

I think I'm leaving the mountain itself bare, no matter what. I just think it gets the point across better than some cluttered up mound of crap.

How does the small-dood-tree-forest thing look, though?

it looks good from the small pic but up close is Blegh..

See, I knew I was going to run into that problem if I used the small-scale doodads!
And earlier when it was plain, it looked like crap from the thumbnail but better up close. =S

Woah not the last time I checked. You must have some godly bushes where you live.
