''And what are you doing here?'' he asked, furrowing his brow deeply.

 

[Phoonix]

Eric turned to the leader of the scavenger mission "so what to do now? frankly i had enough of this place. your loot by now should be worth it really. i don't intend to risk my life any further."

 

[Gyrosphinx]

"We're scavengers!" Jake said proudly. "and this piece of junk is gonna make us rich!"

"What? But there is more yet to uncover, we've barely scratched the surface of a great haul here!" The boss said, then continued. "We've managed to make a fortune already, sure you're not interested in continuing? Think of the growing percentage! We'll all be rich!"

 

[Fussiler1]

He looked to his fellow marines, somewhat uncertain what to do with this man and what to do with the 'piece of junk'

 

[Phoonix]

"Yea, well... it's pretty obvious this whole thing is trapped. if we could shut down all of it's defenses it would be OK but... who knows what might show up next. if i could just find some sort of control panel of this thing." Eric looks around to find a control panel.

 

[Gyrosphinx]

The other marines looked confused too, and the old Veteran spoke. "We've been tracing strange signal, that seems to have been emitted form this... thing! Is it ok that we enter and take a look around?" "Well, yeah, as long as you don't take anything... valuable, I'm sure the boss agrees." Jake said, then pointed towards the entrance.

On the far wall, a computer terminal catched your eye.

 

[Phoonix]

Eric walks towards the terminal and finds to a swatch as to turn it on.

 

[Gyrosphinx]

The controls and diplay looks unfamiliar, and you cannot make out any of the symbols on the myriads of buttons and keys.

 

[Phoonix]

"hmm... could anyone fetch my computer from the Jeep? maybe I'll be able to connect it to this computer somehow and translate these symbols."

 

[Gyrosphinx]

"I'm on it!" Tomas said, and darted out of the room.

 

[Fussiler1]

Mithran nodded and jumped off the jeep, glad they had arrived.
''Well, let's be going, then?'' he asked with a wide grin.

 

[Gyrosphinx]

The other marines jumped off the jeep, and they started making it for the entrance. Another man ran out, then darted for the other jeep to fetch something.

 

[Phoonix]

Eric studies the terminal more closely as to see if there are any attachment points for wires or chips.

 

[Exoplasma]

In the meanwhile, Acneatron keep his presence hidden in the nearby room, concealing himself behind a pile of debris, that is good enough to hide himself while ducking.

In addition, he listens intently to anything he hears in the crowded room, or at least whatever he can hear.

 

[Gyrosphinx]

The terminal seems to have a loose plate, some wires show, which you think you can hotwire your computer to.

 

[Fussiler1]

Mithran followed the marines and checked for a moment if his gun was alright.

 

[Gyrosphinx]

The marines entered a short corridor, which ended in an open door revealing some stairs spiraling downwards. They continued towards the stairs.

 

[Phoonix]

eric pulled of the panel so that the wires are free he then waits for Thomas to return with his computer.

 

[Gyrosphinx]

The guy they had seen earlier, ran past the marines with a computer under his arm, then darted down the stairs.

 

[SoLmaster]

I enter the room again. "Eve are you done, yet?"

 

[Phoonix]

"ah Thomas there you are, come here with that computer."

 

[Gyrosphinx]

"...This mainframe is hard to crack, but I think I've extracted some interesting files. Will go through them later. I'm as good as done here..." Eve replied.

Tomas ran the last paces to Eric, then handed over the computer. "Here you go."

OOC: Going to watch Poirot now.

''Hm.. what is he going to do?'' he asked, frowning.
''Anyways, let's continue.'' he says, shrugging.

Eric hot-wired his computer to to the terminal "now lets see what i can find out about this thing and WHAT exactly it is." he started hacking into the computer terminal looking for a floor plan of sorts. "Lets see how big this baby is eh. Khad maybe your Eve can help me later on by bypassing some codes and uploading info to my computer."

The marines continued down the staircase. They heard the sounds of scavengers scrounging around from below.

The computer started to display what seemed like strange symbols. Nothing shown on the screen was anywhere near understandable.

 

[Phoonix]

Eric starts hacking into the ACU database as to find a translator for the symbols.

 

[Gyrosphinx]

None of the files you find seems to manage to translate the symbols.

 

[Exoplasma]

He grunted as he saw heard more people descending the stairs, indicating that the level of difficulty has risen significantly.

 

[Phoonix]

"hmm, this is weird. an unknown language? this thing here is probably full of undiscovered tech once we manage to translate this." Eric then makes a copy of the symbols and turns to the boss "we probably need to get some help translating these, you know somebody who can help?"

 

[Gyrosphinx]

"I might just have a bunch of contacts, and Herthur is pretty linguistic. Herthur! Get over here!" The boss said, and Herthur came over.

 

[Phoonix]

Eric turned to Herthur (whomever he might be) "can you make out any of these symbols" he sais while showing him the text.

 

[Gyrosphinx]

OOC: Herthur is the other Ghauron in the party, and the driver of the hover-truck.

IC:
"Can't seem to recognize them..." The Ghauron took a closer look. "...Wait a sec, I recognize the letters, but the language... I can't make out the words, might need some more time..."

 

[Phoonix]

"take all the time you want my friend" whit that he leans back against the wall and lights a cigarette.

 

[Gyrosphinx]

Herthur sat down, trying to decipher the language. Mike and Tomas had proceeded to open holes the walls, scrounging through the entire room. The Boss was also eagerly searching through the room, particulary interested in the Defence-Arm.

The Marines reached the bottom of the staircase. A broken door led to another, larger room with a door on the left. Voices and sounds emitted from that door.

OOC: For your information, the scavenger team consists of Jake, Mike, Tomas, Herthur and the Boss (No name yet).

 

[Phoonix]

Eric looked around seeing if there was anything else of interest.

 

[Exoplasma]

"More marines" he muttered to himself in the sight of the marines joining the current group. All of them were heavily-armed and seemed prepared for any attack.

What seemed to look like a well-camouflaged door catched your eye.

OOC: This one was for Phoon.

 

[Phoonix]

Eric walked towards the door and searched for a handle to open it.

 

[SoLmaster]

OOC: sorry power outage.

IC: "Copy and delete all files. We need to keep the files safe." I whispered.

A hidden button, camoufladged like a wall plate touched your hand, and the door slid into the wall. Another corridor, this one in a much better shape opened in front of you. You could not see the end of it.

"...sorry sir, I can't find any delete function, this thing seems to keep a hundred backup-logs for everything..." Eve replied

[Phoonix]

Eric grinned "lets wait to go any further until we've hacked into this things computers."

 

[SoLmaster]

"Well copy it to my mainframe and help out that alien." I walk over. "May I have eve help with that?"

 

[Gyrosphinx]

"Ah! I've found it!" Herthur shouted. "The deactivation command, this is not too different from Ghauron Advanced Mesh Coding! I can safely deactivate the defence systems now!"

 

[Phoonix]

"could you somehow translate it to a coding we all can understand? that way we might be able to find some sort of floor plan in this computer."

 

[SoLmaster]

"System: Auto translate: Ghauron Advanced Mesh Coding." I look at the key board. "Your right. It has core wording."

 

[Gyrosphinx]

"I'm on it! Those extra coding courses really paid off!" Herthur continued working on the terminal with excitement. "Jake, Mike! Haul our first load of loot onto the truck! Now go!" The boss shouted, and the two guys exited the room with the loot-filled hoverboards.
