Would be cool to try out the SC2 editor, hopefully it's as powerful as the wc3editor. But i won't leave Wc3 Terraining, that's for sure.

/MadseN
My words exactly. But the SC2 editor will most likely be far more powerful than wc3editor. One guestion mark is that will there be ingame cinematics, maybe they have the system for it at least in the editor.

I'm guessing we won't be able to terrain the same in scumedit. The screens I've seen don't have any height variation.

Dominomus (aka sparrow in english) ftw. Guy who shot the bird (23.000 stones) got threatend with death, cool aint it?

Back to topic: I think Wc3 will die over a while and a Sc2 version of Dota appear so the whole f*cking game will get f*cked up and all will go to WoW or any other MMoRPG.

If the 4mb limit is increased, I sure hope people will mod SC2 into a warcraft "4" game. The tilesets already allow fantasyworlds (jungle, volcano, ...). The only tileset that couldn't be used is the Installation/space platform tileset.
That means all "imports" that have to be made are models / sounds of the 4 races. Hopefully remade versions because the wc3 models will look like shit in SC2, if they can even be used there.

speaking of the bunkertileset...
If anyone has read Thorgal, wouldn't it be great to have a map/campaign based on that world? It merges Fantasy / Sci fi in a great way IMO.

No, since they are already dead but yet again alive that means they're undead! And dead things don't need to breath! But livings things do... So it depends on certain undeady things?

WoW probably wouldn't die since about 1 billion play it. What will probably kill WoW is if Blizzard were to make UoS. (Universe of Starcraft)

You know what they need to do, make an MMOFPSRPG. A real time action MMO that could be on 360 and PC (because theres a feature where 360 users and PC users can play with each other). So that people with bad coms can use 360, and people who complain about 360 and have leet comps can use PC. FPS madnesss.....

Make a MMOFPSRPG Out of starcraft....yeah...

Hellgate: London hasn't really has a good FPS engine, since the shooting and stuff looks unreal and those creeps have to deal with melee and magic dudes too.

Every guy on WoW pays $15 per month.

$15 x 9.000.000 = 135.000.000 per month

135.000.000 x 12 = 1.620.000.000 aka 1,62 BILLION dollars.

And how long has WoW been here? 4 years. (2004)

$1,62 Bill x 4 = 6.480.000.000

AND THAT'S A LOT. Dude those guys are (...)ing RICH!

Assuming those 9 million were there since the beginning, and they spend none of it on stupid things, like other employees and making new games.

Nonetheless, Blizzard is a giant.

I don't believe that.
My friends are more likely to know about Wc3 because of WoW than DotA

However, if that was referring to Asia only, yes i would agree with you.

As much as I like Warcraft 3, I feel that the Sc2 editor will be gigantically better. It is like an inevitable truth, that Sc2 will have more mods and features than the regular wc3 editor. I just hope all this is true.

I fully hope that it will be so much powerful and we would be able to add a lot more physic into the game.
Btw we got some awesome moddelers on these site so we don't have to worry about missing models.:ugly:

The Poll choices aren't the best, although I expect that if the SC2 editor lives up to blizzards statement of being 'a lot more powerful', then it's highly likely that SC2 mods will be better than WC3. And, on top of that, I suspect that somebody will eventually develop a tool/SC2 editor that lets you create 'Hero Units' that would operate in the same way that WC3 Heroes would. Who knows, World Editor, the one that comes with SC2, might already let you do it.

heres the thing, SC2 edting differs from warcraft in a few ways:
Warcraft 3:
-creeps, starcraft 2 for all i know doesn't have them.
-Heros, they lvl up and make great RPG games, + you can make wow instances.
-Spells, warcraft 3 has lots and lots and lots of spells, SC2 doesn't have things like wardens fan of knives.
-Items, SC2 may not have items or attributes for heros.

SC2 modding:
-starcraft maps, like TD or someone may make a Zergling extermination game.
-people may just make big battle maps, like you control a special ops unit, you control him and only him in a huge battle around you.

WC3 and SC2 will not cancel one or the other out, SC2 might be easier to use but warcraft three has many things over SC2.

Creeps are just, technically, units that don't belong to a player. Therefore, if I was to give several units to a computer without any AI (I.E not giving them commands like move to/random point in region etc) then they'd be 'creeps'.
-Heros, they lvl up and make great RPG games, + you can make wow instances.
Hopefully blizzard will realise that heroes did make a big impact on WC3 Custom Gamers and add an option to create units with 'hero' status. Failing that, myself and others, I am sure, will start trying to create something that resembles the WC3 hero system.
-Spells, warcraft 3 has lots and lots and lots of spells, SC2 doesn't have things like wardens fan of knives.
Custom spells can be made within WC3, I can't see why they won't be made within SC2.
-Items, SC2 may not have items or attributes for heros.
At the moment, SC2 doesn't have heroes.
-starcraft maps, like TD or someone may make a Zergling extermination game.
-people may just make big battle maps, like you control a special ops unit, you control him and only him in a huge battle around you.
Hurhurhur... Lolwut? o_O

Editors are just basic tools, they've remained basically the same throughout the creation of WC2, SC and WC3. I don't believe one, nor the other, will be easier to use. But I do believe, however, that users will push them to their limits and create bigger and better maps.

You have not read into SC 2, have you. The Map editor includes the WC 3 hero system, including inventory and items and I can BET that it will have the possibility to make our own spells. I would expect everything from WC 3 editor to be in SC 2 editor too.

Also Blizzard is going to include atleast some of the lost units from SC 1 in the map editor and also all the cancelled units from SC 2 will be in the editor so they should be alot of models to choose from.

Lol... Computers aren't sucky anymore. Most of the computers which are bought nowdays are very good and can handle a lot of stuff.
And not all players have these computers... So may have a little older ones which can still handle this game, but not all those uber 100 maps linked together with 30 players -games.
