The darkness intensified.
No, you havent. And pray that you do not.
The Gardener spoke with both concern and pity in it's voice.
When you are beneath Roag, you need to get to the spire without attracting the attention of... them.
If you do so, even what i am going to grant you now cannot save you.
The only person i have ever seen surviving an encounter with one of them was Lord Taiion.
But he had to strike a deal with someone very high up the Hierachy of Blades to do so.
I dont know all the details, but i know that he promised never to come back to the tunnels.

A the light from the sphere grew dim.
Do not ask me any further about this, but i have a feeling that is the sole reason he is not here to take up this task himself.
You dont seem aware of how great a task there is ahead of you.

If the gardener's face had not been made of stone, Agron would've sworn it was smiling.
A Gift of power.
Suddenly the sphere emitted an intense light, for a split second illuminating the room.
Before the group was momentarily blinded, they caught a glimpse of an enormous mess of vines from which the Gardener's head and arm emerged.
And behind them there was something... indescribable.
Then it faded into white, and a second later back into the black shadows.
A familiar surge of power was flowing through the veins of the adventurers.

OOC: Sweet. Clairvoyance and Runevision.

Illios frowned deeply and pondered at what he had just seen. It had been strange -- what was the thing behind the mess of vines? He asked this question to himself but found himself unable to describe it. Then, he merely shrugged and felt the power flow through him. Illios felt stronger. His vision seemed to be greater, or he thought it was.

Meyla shuddered and gasped, falling back as the dark room swam into focus.
She felt increased vigour and vitality, granted by a warm wave, a gentle touch. Ever so different to the violent attack tgat was entity magic entering her body.
She smiled and nodded, she was ready, they all were.

What i've granted you is a chance of survival in the tunnels of Old Urnung.
But it will still be a journey without equal. If you DO survive, though, i expect it to have been quite worthwhile for all of you.
Taiion did meet me down there, after all.

The glowing sphere disappeared, and there was now only darkness around them.
We will meet again, somewhere down there.
Or well... we will meet again no matter what happens.
Morning is here. Goodbye.

In a flash of light, all the darkness dissipated.
They stood amidst the grand hall, just as much a mess of tables, staircases and alcoves as the first time they entered.
Behind them the gate opened, and spirit-guides clad in black robes poured into the room.
One-after-one they sat down by the tables, completely ignoring the group which was now for some reason standing up.

"We have met the gardener." Ekrion said. "and it was... most interesting."
He stopped talking for a moment, collecting his toughts. "we know where to find the book."

Just as Agron finished mouthing his question, Lucien landed amidst the group.
"You've all met the Gardener now. I'm sorry for not... warning you of it's pressence. It can be quite confusing when you first meet it."
Lucien made an apologizing gesture, an unsure smile on his face.
"Did everything go alright?"

"I will be leading you out of Scribe's Haven as soon as you are ready to leave, then.
Which... has to be soon.
"
Lucien smiled yet another one of his apologizing smiles.
"The situation is... sort of special, at the moment. I cant go into detail, but... I reccomend you stay away from the open wastelands when you come back out."

Soon after the group arrived at the mountain range which the way in and out apparently lay in.
"This is your path out."
Lucien said, gesturing at a small gate in the mountian. None of the group's members had noticed it on the way in, and much less entering through it.
"No illusions this time, i promise."

Sunrah's voice showed a small bit of annoyance, somewhat like Meyla's had a second ago.
I'm sorry i just dont see anything about this whole thing that ISNT urgent.
Time is not something we can afford to waste.
For those of you who havent been here before... Look up.
