[RP Thread] Cries of Urnung: Book of the Bladebringer

"You go first then, ask away."
The Guidelord said, now sitting down in a chair covered by darkness.

 

[Phoonix]

Ekrion sits down a bit suspicious, but soon he is able to over come that feeling and starts asking "What exactly do you mean whit 'there are gifted ones among you'?" he said.

 

[Dragonson]

"The one of you named Meyla passed several tests upon entering our sanctuary.
The one of you named Illios has spiritbound potential.
The one of you named Marais intrigues me."
The Guidelord said.

 

[Grey Nightmare]

A dark well of emotion stirred within Meyla, she wanted to cry out, to scream.
And what of the rest of them? Useless?! Disposable?!
Successfully reigning in her anger she settled with "So what happens next?"

 

[-Peper-]

OOC: Agron is quite speechless until now.
IC: This kind of situation is not preferred by Agron. "Then can we cut right into the subject?" he asked.

 

[Wolfe]

Marais concurred with his comrades, disturbed by the Guidelord and his previous statement. "Yes. Let's."

 

[Dragonson]

"You can first meet the gardener by nightfall, so that errand will have to wait.
Meanwhile, i have a few propositions for you. Not just for the beforementioned three."
The Guidelord said, something stirring behind him.
"You will have to do some fighting, but as far as i know you are not the kind of people to say no to a good dose of battle.
And it will be for a good cause too. Yes. It will be quite a morale boost for those of you that consider yourselves good.
There might though be some slight side effects. The dead sometimes cause quite the trouble when trying to thank people."

 

[Phoonix]

"and what might those... propositions be, if i may be so bold to ask." Ekrion said in a suspicious tone. He was not liking this situation, for all they knew this 'Guidelord' could just be trying to kill them.
He looked at the things stirring behind him what are those things or... what is that thing.

 

[Dragonson]

"As you know, we help spirits that cannot find their own way from this world to the afterlife.
Sadly, we yesterday received the spirit of an old wolf 'god' that carried a horrible corruption so deep inside it we did not find out until it was too late.
Now, i assure you that among our ranks there are people who could easily defeat the wolf spirit, but we have all made vows to not harm spirits that are free of their mortal body."
The Guidelord explained.
"So basically we have a big wolf lurking around and i need you to dispose of it."

 

[Fussiler1]

That's good.. right? he was thinking about the comment made about him. Then he shook his head and paid attention again. ''A wolf... god. Isn't that going to be fun?'' he asked the group with a faked smile.

 

[Grey Nightmare]

"Lead the way" Meyla beamed, standing up.
Beats sitting around listening to lies and half truths.

 

[Dragonson]

A gate like those Sunrah created appears infront of the Guidelord.
"As you wish."

 

[Grey Nightmare]

"See you on the other side" Meyla nodded to her companions in turn before calmly walking through the portal.

 

[Phoonix]

"Very well, We shall help you." Ekrion said, helping a spirit from this life to the next was an honorable thing to do. He would gladly help whit that.
He stepped trought the portal.

 

[Dragonson]

On the other side the group found themselves in a brightly lit forest of evergreens.
Small wooden totems portraying all sorts of animals were scattered among the trees, and remains of a campfire could be seen north of them.

 

[Grey Nightmare]

Meyla sword in hand, left the vicinity of their fallpoint and began examining the various totems with an exaggerated interest, anxious to move on.

 

[Dragonson]

Meyla found nothing special about the totems, although they all seemed to point toward the campfire remains.

 

[Grey Nightmare]

Looking back over her shoulder, Meyla sighed. The rest of the group seemed to be in no particular hurry. She spread her wings, kicked off and gently glided over to the burnt out campfire. She landed gracefully, folded her wings and knelt by the remains. Who or what, has been here... and where are we?
Frowning, she placed her sword by her side and rummaged through the ash with both hands. It seemed a silly thing to do but... Nothing is trivial. Everything should be accounted for.

 

[Dragonson]

[HIDDEN ROLL]
As Meyla searches through the ashes she finds a small iron box with no apparent decorations, locks or other mechanisms.
This also includes the great lack of lid.

As she picks it up, she gets the feeling that something is watching her.

was really angry so he shoved a rock down his ears and stabbed himself sacrificing himself to the Illuminati skyscraper gods

 

[GunSlinger]

"Find something?" I asked Meyla.

 

[Grey Nightmare]

Meyla turned to look up at Leo, she handed him the iron box without hesitation, seeming even somewhat relieved to have it taken from her possession.

 

[Fussiler1]

He observed the iron box with interest but said nothing, waiting for events to unfold.

 

[Dragonson]

Suddenly the sound of song filled the woods surrounding the group, and five humanoid creatures clad in black bandages and plate armour.
They charged towards Meyla, elven-looking swords ready to strike.

 

[Fussiler1]

''What the--..'' he shouted out before spurring his eyes open and recognizing the creatures. It couldn't be..? The legends weren't true, were they? Extinct humanoids with leprosy for life? He couldn't quite remember their name. He quickly rolled his eyes and drew his sword.

 

[Phoonix]

Ekrion grabbed his shield from his back and dashed towards meyla trying to block one of the attackers whit his shield

 

[Grey Nightmare]

Startled, Meyla quickly scrabbled to her feet, managing to pick up her blade but failing to gain a defensive stance in time. "They don't look like wolves" she said uneasily.

 

[Dragonson]

The attackers, surprised by Ekiron's swift reaction, try to avoid the charging warrior.
They move backwards, momentarily, moving in a half circle around Meyla and Ekiron.

 

[Phoonix]

"Indeed they don't" Ekrion said "Be careful" He then Draws his sword and swings it at the nearest enemy keeping his shield close to him for defence.

 

[Grey Nightmare]

Thanks to the assailants double take, Meyla had a chance to pull up her guard. With a quick flap of her wings she placed her back against Ekrion's. "No one's getting out of this alone... Now do you trust me?" she asked him quickly.

 

[Fussiler1]

He had watched the situation and shaken his head in disgust about his lack of action. With his sword drawn he charged at the attackers, swinging his blade next to his head. He was fairly sure he would hit something, but only time could tell.

 

[Dragonson]

DM: Melee Attack (DifLevel 2): Roll (1d6 +9 from Strength (Brutal Fighting Applied), -3 from Battlesong (Enemy)): 4 (10). Success!
Ekiron lunges at one of the attackers, opening the bandages on it's right arm and cutting into the pestering flesh below.
The creature appears to feel no pain, but the wound Ekiron opened opens way more than it should have from an attack with that level of force.
DM: Unknown Attacker (1) took 10 damage, and has 90 HP left.
Although Ekiron held his shield up, he did make himself slightly more open to attacks and one of the creatures instantly takes up the opportunity to strike him.
It jumps forward, sword soaring through the air...
DM: Melee Attack (DifLevel 3): Roll (1d6 +10 from Battlesong): 6 (16).
Rolling Extra Dice: 4 (20). Critical Success!
...and lands a heavy blow in the space between his fur mantle and scale-mail chestpiece, after which it performs a stylish backflip and lands among it's companions.
DM: Ekiron took 30 damage and has 80 HP left.

@Illios
DM: Melee Attack (DifLevel 2): Roll (1d6 +2 from Strength, +5 from Battle Veteran and -3 from Battlesong (Enemy)): 3 (7). Success!
Ekiron charges forward and strikes another of the attackers, opening the bandages and another strangely big wound on it's chest.
DM: Unknown Attacker (2) took 7 damage and has 93 HP left.

After the second assault by Illios the attackers started changing positions in their battle formation, constantly moving to each other's locations.

 

[GunSlinger]

"This is new." I said,gazing at the attackers, the box still in hand.
I unsheathed my sword and tried levitate the other two swords I carried.

OOC:
Do I still need to a dice roll for this action?

 

[Dragonson]

OOC: Your Channelling powers activate whenever you make a successfull magic roll.
So to activate them you need to cast a spell of some sort, then you can do as much psychic stuff as you want as long as the channelling feat is active.
There will though still be made rolls for the sake of determining whether you hit or not and how much damage you do, but the no more magic rolls are required (This means that magic done through channelling cannot fizzle or backfire).

Agron smiled. At last, a battle. He unsheated his new axe. And without any hesistation, he charges toward one enemy and swing his axe.

 

[GunSlinger]

Alrighty then!

IC:
Through my thoughts, I made an incantation, concentrating to fully extend my psychic powers. With this a blue magic circle appeared the the bottom of my feet.

NOTE: Activate Channeling Psychic

 

[Dragonson]

OOC: Please write in 3rd person Gunslinger. It makes it easyer for the rest of us.
Also, you dont have to dedicate a roll entirely to activating channelling. You can also activate it by For Example lobbing a fireball at someone or activating a rune.

DM Note: Sometimes when you roll really well like Agron just did, more based on how many extra dice used than crit/no crit, i will allow your characters to perform special attacks. This is not actually a part of the Lorepainter ruleset, but just something i add when i see fit.

Agron roars, and his magical energy emanates from his axe as he charges forward towards the attackers.
Using both his wings and his legs he gains incredible speed, and hits one of the attackers with a mix of raw force and sharp axe.
DM: Unknown Attacker (1) lost 50 HP and has 40 HP left.

@Leo
DM: Spell Check (DifLevel 2): Roll (1d6 +3 from Will): 3 (6). Success!
Leo feels psychic power flowing through him, ready to be unleashed.
DM: Channelling - Psychic activated.

 

[GunSlinger]

IC:
Leo, with the 2 blades circling around him, spots a target. He immediately runs towards it, commanding the 2 blades to fly and hit the target and he then swings his extended sword across the battlefield to create an arc.

 

[-Peper-]

Agron recovered after his attack, and attacks once again without giving the creature any chance.
NOTE: Swift Striker, activate.

 

[Fussiler1]

Illios followed the creature he had just attacked after they changed positions and tried to plunge his sword in it's chest, trying to hit the wound.

 

[Phoonix]

Ekrion a bit dazed after the hit takes a step back, he now stand back to back whit meyla. "What are these things..." He then takes a deep breathe and shouts "why won't they just DIE!" Trying to empower the word 'Die' whit 'razor word'

NOTE: Razor word, activate.

 

[Grey Nightmare]

Meyla watched the assailants carefully, analysing their every move. Estimating intent, weight and stance - everything matters, nothing is trivial. She opened her wings, raised her blade and dropped to her haunches. The smallest action can have the largest consequence. Her strike was swift, smooth and without forewarning, she lurched to the left, corkscrewed her blade, piercing thin air below an enemy's arm. The feint strike was then followed with a sharp beat of her wings launching her into the air, blade following in attempt to dismember the oppositions right arm.

Leo's two swords soar through the air, striking both of the already wounded foes.
DM: Unknown Attacker (1) and (2) both took 11 damage. Unknown Attacker (1) has 29 HP left and Unknown Attacker (2) has 82 HP left.

@Agron
DM: Melee Attack (DifLevel 3 (Swift Striker Applied) x2): Roll (1d6 +4 from Strength and -3 from Battlesong (Enemy)): 5 (6) and 3 (4).
Agron strikes once more, the first of the attackers now seriously wounded.
Almost all of it's bandages were ripped open, revealing dead skin.
DM: Unknown Attacker (1) took 10 damage, and has 19 HP left.

@Illios
DM: Melee Attack (DifLevel 3): Roll (1d6 +2 from Strength, +5 from Battle Veteran and -3 from Battlesong (Enemy)): 6 (9.
Rolling Extra Dice: 5 (14).
Illios' blade zoomed forward and buried itself in the chest of the first attacker causing it to stumble backwards, now very close to death.
DM: Unknown Attacker took 14 damage and has 5 HP left.

@Ekiron
DM: Rune Activation (DifLevel 2): Roll (1d6 +1): 6 (7).
Rolling Extra Dice: 3 (10). Success!
Ekiron shouts a Razor Word, his voice emanating death.
The sound of it cuts through the air, and it hits the attackers straight on.
DM: Will Check (DifLevel 3 x5): Roll (1d6 +3 from Battlesong): 2 (5 (Failure!)), 4 (7 (Failure!)), 1 (4 (Critical Failure!)), 4 (7 (Failure!)) and 3 (6 (Failure!)).
The sound cut through their flesh, one of them being cut to pieces instantly.
DM: Damage Roll (x4): Roll (10d6): 40, 39, 35 and 31.
DM: Unknown Attacker (1) died, Unknown Attacker (2) took 39 damage and has 43 HP left, Unknown Attacker (3) died, Unknown Attacker (4) took 35 damage and has 65 HP left and Unknown Attacker (5) took 31 damage and has 69 HP left.
The last three remaining attackers, shocked by this incredible assault, disappeared almost as fast as they appeared.

@Meyla
DM: Attack Aborted: Missing Target.

OOC: Hell yeah! Tank rocks.
IC: "Over already?" Agron sighed, he sheated his axe to his back. And begin to walk around "So, next?"

 

[Fussiler1]

Illios roared and once more charged forward, swinging his sword at his enemy to finish what he had started.

OOC:Sleeping makes me miss everything!!

Sameal walking slowly over to the group after the battle had been finished "I wonder who those people could be?? And for that matter where are we??".

 

[Phoonix]

OOC: whit can I say, My voice is deadly xD

IC: "Yes, i was wondering the same thing and even more, WHAT were they." He sighed "This Guidelord sent us here to kill a wolf and what we get are... these things. He has alot of explaining to do i think.

Sameal still puzzled at the attackers he goes to search one of the bodies of the strangers "Hopefully we can find some answers with there deaths".

 

[Dragonson]

OOC: They're dead/ran away fuss.

IC: The foes that had fallen immediately started emitting a horrid stench, filling the air of the grove.

 

[Phoonix]

Ekrion coughs while sheathing his sword and strapping his shield onto his back. "what is this horrid stench..." he sais while holding his nose closed shut whit one hand.
