1) Make sure you have at least the 1.27 patch installed. The campaign WILL NOT WORK properly without it.
Specifically, Chapter Three will not load at all.
2) Download the Rise of the Blood Elves Intro cinematic and extract into your Warcraft III/Movies folder.
LINK TO THE CINEMATIC FILE
3) Download the campaign and place into your Warcraft III/Campaigns folder, or My Documents/Warcraft 3/Campaigns
if you have the 1.28 patch.
4) Play the campaign!

In a daring campaign against the Scourge in Northrend, Illidan faced off against the death
knight Arthas in an attempt to destroy the Frozen Throne. However, Arthas defeated Illidan and left him
wounded in the snow, allowing Illidan to witness the creation of the new Lich King.

Kael'thas Sunstrider and Lady Vashj, realising their defeat, brought Illidan with them as they fled back to
Outland. Seeing their master's ugly wounds, they decide to bring him back to the Hellfire Citadel so that
he may recover... but, unbeknownst to them, Outland was in a state of a minor civil war.

Soon after that, tensions rise in the blood elven society as the Grand Magistrix Alessandra Katryne
proposes a dangerous idea: reclamation of their homeland, Quel'Thalas.

Techtree Changes
- Arcane Affinity now reduces magic damage by 25% (was 20%).
- Magic Sentry now instead gives Towers the ability to increase nearby friendly units' mana regeneration.

Hawkstrider Knight
- Requires Sanctuary instead of Spire to be trained.
- Cleave now strikes 25% of damage to nearby enemy units (was 12%).

Sorceress
- Can now once again use Polymorph.
- Can no longer use Illusion.

Arcane Golem
- Resistant Skin is now called Prismatic Barrier and also gives Arcane Golems passive health regeneration.

Blood Knight
- Holy Light heals for 250 hit points (from 125).
- Seal of Protection now lasts 30 seconds (from 25).
- Wings of Retribution increases movement speed and attack rate by 40%. Has a new special effect when cast.

Ballista
- Damage buffed.

Phoenix
- No longer has Spell Immunity. Instead, has a new ability, Spell Resistance, which reduces magic damage taken by 50%.
- Now costs 7 food (from 6).

Kael'thas
- Can no longer use Summon Lava Spawn. Instead, can use Summon Al'ar, which summons Al'ar, a powerful phoenix, to fight alongside Kael'thas.

Alessandra
- Has a new voice. (Valeera from Heroes of the Storm)
- Soulburn has been significantly buffed and now drastically increases Alessandra's attack speed.
- Dark Soul's Voidlord is no longer immobile.

Lor'themar
- Has a new model and a new icon.
- Flames of Retribution no longer does friendly fire. Now costs 75 mana (from 85).
- Blood Cry now affects a larger area. Now costs 50 mana (from 90).
- Can no longer use Dashing Winds. Instead, has a new ability, Living Bomb, which adds extra damage on each attack and causes units that die while under the effect to explode, dealing damage to nearby enemy units.

Liadrin
- Has a new model, a new icon and a new voice.
- Desiccation Aura is no longer visually displayed.

Aewynne
- Paralysing Arrow's range is now 800 (was 600).
- Evergreen now costs 50 mana (from 75).
- Marksmanship has been significantly buffed and now drastically increases Aewynne's attack damage.
- Volley of Arrows no longer does friendly fire.

Sylvanas
- Has a new voice.

Kalecgos
- Has a new voice.
- Abilities are now stronger.

- Lowered all units' collision size, which should make it easier to move units around the map and reduce units getting stuck.
- Fixed a bug in Chapter Twelve which could cause the boss fight to begin at the beginning of the map.

- Fixed a bug in Chapter Nine where you could end the map early by just flying around the map with Al'ar.
- Removed the ability Web from Kil'jaeden in Chapter Twelve which could prevent Kalecgos from executing his triggers.

- Increased Kargath's respawn timer in Chapter Ten.
- Added a new gold mine in Chapter Ten.

- Chapter Ten should be a little easier now.
- Lor'themar's Blood Cry has been buffed. It now lasts for 10 seconds and affects a larger area.
- Prophet Velen has a new model.
- Aurora and Vesper are now the collect colour in the Epilogue.

- Hawkstrider Knight now costs less resources, 3 food instead of 4, and does a little bit more damage.
- Phoenix now attacks a little slower, and can no longer increase its attack from the Blacksmith upgrades.

Best custom campaign I played so far. It rivals Blizzard's campaigns.
If not for the voice acting I could have swear that Blizzard made it.

The story, the beautiful and balanced new units, the variety of missions, the music...

I can't believe that ppl can make something so good on their free time!
I don't know what else to say, the quality is overwhelming.

Congratulation and thank you for sharing!

This campaign has been almost as enjoyable as the actual blizzard campaign, if not more so due to the immaculate gameplay and unit balance (of course the lack of voice acting, and a few bugs like not being able to see any dialogue in game from the characters do set it back slightly)

I cannot emphasize enough how talented you and your team are, from the story to the unit design and map making. Thank you so much for this absolutely fantastic experience! I would pay for more, honest.

Hi, guys! I don't know if I am the only one with the problem I have, so I hope this can be easily fixed. After the Tempest Keep interlude, the third mission does not load, the screen just goes black and stays like that forever. Anyone has encountered this already?

I've been away for a while! Thanks to everyone who posted about enjoying the campaign!

I'm probably using them wrong, but what's the niche in the Hawkstrider Knights? They're barely (15 gold, 0 wood, and 0 food) cheaper than Blood Knights but are much frailer and not as versatile. Are they meant to be skirmisher/harasser units? They are T2, I think, so there's that.

You're right, and I've to be honest about that, he made a great job. Everything what I'm saying is about that I really would like an option to select an easier dificulty and play enjoying the story, like in a Wonder Wheel in an amusement park.

Yeah, the campaign can be tough at times, and I do actually like the idea of a story mode. I'm not quite sure how I could do it, but I will consider it sometime in the future. Multiple difficulties is something I actually wanted to do, but somehow I never really got around to doing it.

That would probably help, yeah.

But still, are they meant to be raiders? :O

That might be why I can't figure out their niche, I'm the type who has no idea what to do with orc raiders beyond "lol Ensnare the flying units! 8D"

I almost think Arcane Golems could stand to be toned down, they're pretty fantastic at their job of charging in at the head of attacks to soften the enemy up for their allies to follow.

I have a problem with the cinematic file, i doesn't want to load, it just jumps to the first level. What do i do wrong?

Honestly, I don't know, some people have said it didn't work for them, it worked for others, it always worked for me, so I have no idea what could cause it to not work.

Your warcraft 3 was a RIPPED version. I doubt that cinematic screens in vanilla campaigns will work. In order to make it work, you need to get other versions that is not labeled as RIPPED.

Yeah, that's an oddity of the way WC3 handles changing voices. It happens if you play a normal game and then switch over to Rise of the Blood Elves. The opposite happens if you do it the other way around.

Closing the game out completely fixes it.

I might update Curse of the Forsaken. No promises.

As for Seeds of Faith, I was not happy with the final product and will most likely never release it.

liadrin and alessandra voice are different in chapter 11

What Raxistaicho said. It happens if you play a normal map before RotBE.

Hi, you did an excellent job there! I've always wanted to play as the blood elves!

I think the last part of chapter 3 should be more challenging. Even if you don't have much units it's too easy, considering the enemy waves are small and there are long time intervals where nothing happens.
The Legion minions in chapter 10 sometimes go back and fort. This happens when they're about to exit their base.
In chapter 12 there seems to be a bug with the timer. It starts at 27:30, but around 17:00 it resets to 32:00. And wouldn't it make more sense for the timer to expire when you kill Kael, not when you encounter him? Because now you can just go to Kael, then go back and you have all the time of the world to prepare for Kil'jaeden.

But overall it's a great campaing. Story, music, visuals and gameplay are awesome!

It's a while since I finished this campaign. But until now I have enough time to answer in the language in which I'm not very good :p

I see a changes in texts when I gave them more during my translation. And it's much better.

I miss a little Aewynne nostalgic memory about snow. Stopped briefly and then immediately thrown back into reality. :)
It appears to me odd moment when Kael'thas command executions of farstriders for withholding the information about Alessandra plans instead of imprisonment. Surely this is treason but immediate execution?
Good change in Forsaken and Blood elves know about each other. :)
Chapter 8 was chalenging for me since I'm not good in multitasking but after destroying green base ... I manage to win somehow...
Realy like/hate this mission and it would be splendor as defense for two players.
Next one is chapter 10... when I finally manage to overthrow nagas Royal guards, then... Kargath came... and my base was no more... XP (played v3.0.2)
Same problem in Illidan cinematic when game crashed, but not completly just on Windows taskbar. Then continue.
In chapter 11 Felorcs and Nagas try avenge their dead masters?

Lower collision of units is OK but often is battle mess where I can not determine where which unit is. Probably just my problem.


Hmm... I cannot remember anything else in a moment...

In the result. Very nice campaign and I like it.

Just leaving a comment to 5/5 it. Apart from the ending as discussed in the other thread and some small balancing issues that I don't think you really can get right without a proper budget I thought it was brilliant. I loved how there was something unique and memorable about almost all if not all of the chapters, my favourites being dealing with the clans in the Chapter 2 and the double base three-front defense in Chapter 8 of the very same Silvermoon we've just conquered with a 5 hero army in Chapter 6, and the sneaky stealing of the fragments in Chapter 4, and being the third side of the conflict in Chapter 11, and well, all of it was awesome, really. Amazing work.

Hey just curious if anyone has had a problem playing this i have it downloaded and i put it in my Camp file i have the newest patch all that but it is not in my custom Camp when i load up TFT any ideas sorry if this has been asked before new to this site >.<

It could be that the folder destination is on another path. It happened to me, I had WCIII 1.27 installed on another folder and, when I updated to 1.28, the game still loads the 1.27 folders (which haven't been modified, thing that should've happened with the new patch system).

I just use the 1.27 folder, so I don't know how to help you, but you could search for other WCIII folders on your computer and maybe drag the campaign there to see if it works.

Hi guys i have a big problem and i do not know where i can solve it so i will write it here :p..............
I have a problem with custom campaigns, when i put them on my "Campaigns" folder and then start game they are dissapeared. I really dont know what to do.... Can someone help me or advice me ?

Yeah, 1.28 changed the folder locations. If you go to Documents/Warcraft 3/Campaigns, that's where you put campaigns now

And one last question: what to do when my WC3 isnt working bcos of WC3 DirectX initialization problem? i have DX 12 so it should work
P.S. i am running now with -OpenGL system, but i wanna normal running bcos OpenGL is quite laggy :(

I do not know what is going on, but after I started a prologue, it was immediatelly skipped direct to a next map. Also dark green orcs (forgot the name, but it is the smallest clan) in the second chapter got bugged, when they have only one grunt, one barracks, one town hall, some farms, and two peons and they did not build any buildings nor units (destroyed tower for example and other grunts, mages etc.).

First of all, I would like to say thanks for such great compaign. The story is great and the new units(especially arcane golems) have very good mechanics.
Unfortunately, I have encountered two problems:all heroes are silent(During the mission, when they comment on achieving the objectives) and abilities have no description. First, I thought this is because I am using Russian client, but I installed English one and nothing changed. Anybody can help?

Have you installed the most recent patch? (that is, Patch 1.28.2)

The OP has just been edited for clarification. It now says that one must have at least the 1.27 patch installed for the campaign to work properly, and not the most recent patch currently available.

On the Chapter Three (with the most recent update), I found that the farstrider units/faction/allies, as soon as they killed the Lady Liadrin's faction, didn't attack Kael'thas Loyalists. In fact, they were friendly with them. I even brought over one of the Kael footman to see, and their priests HEALED that enemy footman (not sure if this noteworthy for your tech side, but neither my priests or the Farstrider's healed one another unless specifically targeted with the heal spell). Also, Lady Liadrin blood elves for some reason did not count along with dead blood elf side quest, only Kael's. Lastly, as soon as the second phase (so to speak) of the mission started, some of the towers were still neutral as as well as both dragon hawk nests. Not sure if any of this is intended or not, but I thought I should let you know =]
