1) Make sure you have at least the 1.27 patch installed. The campaign WILL NOT WORK properly without it.
Specifically, Chapter Three will not load at all.
2) Download the Rise of the Blood Elves Intro cinematic and extract into your Warcraft III/Movies folder.
LINK TO THE CINEMATIC FILE
3) Download the campaign and place into your Warcraft III/Campaigns folder, or My Documents/Warcraft 3/Campaigns
if you have the 1.28 patch.
4) Play the campaign!

In a daring campaign against the Scourge in Northrend, Illidan faced off against the death
knight Arthas in an attempt to destroy the Frozen Throne. However, Arthas defeated Illidan and left him
wounded in the snow, allowing Illidan to witness the creation of the new Lich King.

Kael'thas Sunstrider and Lady Vashj, realising their defeat, brought Illidan with them as they fled back to
Outland. Seeing their master's ugly wounds, they decide to bring him back to the Hellfire Citadel so that
he may recover... but, unbeknownst to them, Outland was in a state of a minor civil war.

Soon after that, tensions rise in the blood elven society as the Grand Magistrix Alessandra Katryne
proposes a dangerous idea: reclamation of their homeland, Quel'Thalas.

You sir... are amazing! :)

Keep up the excellent work, you deserve these comments of encouragement and cheer! :)

EDIT:

Just downloaded and played the new version... amazing! Much smooth and better movement, more combat efficiency when it comes to units and so on. Awesome work, mate! Thanks for accepting the suggestion as constructive criticism!

Thank you, really glad you like it! If you, or anyone else, happen to notice collision size of any units might have been lowered too much, feel free to post so I can check it out.

Well, you won't have to start from scratch as some dialogues will remain the same.

:) Oki
But, I will play it first,... then... Work, work.

I hoped for new Dar'khan model :) This one just didn't fit That arrogant, power hunger, grinning, betrayer elf I know from Sunwell trilogy :p But I think there isn't model for him anywhere.

I PMed the site admins for MMO champion that i have delt with on a personal basis in the past showcasing YOUR campaigns, OutsiderEXs, Turnro's, and Razorclaws as prime examples.

My question and plea was the fact MMO Champion is a blizzard Warcraft / Games site first and formost. Why the fuck do they not showcase Warcraft 3 user content that would help spread the word and content to a much wider audience that is ignorant of the hive's let alone custom campaigns existence.

The result of such attention could only spur the creation of MORE user content, passion , feedback and even opportunities. It helps the content creators and it helps the community that enjoys them.

See what I can do to help you and your fellow content creators reach a much MUCH MUCH larger audience very soon @tomoraider.

In the meantime definetly start working on Curse of the Forsaken V3.0 I'm going to push it's advertising there to the best of my ability though I already have been doing that before.

Oh, thanks, that's a great thread, it's pretty cool you're trying to promote Warcraft 3 custom campaigns. Keep at it!

Perhaps I will stream the new version pretty soon - do you have any other hotfixes planned?

Awesome! I do not plan any more hotfixes, this should be it.

There is no error. You didn't extract the .mpq file from the .rar. "1) Download the Rise of the Blood Elves Intro cinematic and extract into your Warcraft III/Movies folder."

Break through map? Which one is that? Do you mean Chapter Three? If so, that map won't work unless you have the most recent Warcraft 3 patch.

i download the link to the cinematic file. how can i watch the cinematic? where should i put the file?

Bit of a review for your campaign.
Spoilers below.

Chapter 5, I am not GLAD that there is no cake.
Also in chapter 9, either make invisible flying path blockers around southeastern island or make Ad'al(who is overpowered) landbased like in chapter 7, because I was just flying around with him, scouting the map and BAM! I am victorious. I haven't even killed the Doom Guard.
OK, as I have stated before, this alternate take on Blood Elves lore is your property and your vision we must play, but the chapter 10 seems like a wasted chance. I understand that you are not going to make further attempts at campaigns that take place during Cataclysm and further expansions (frankly I don't even know how would you do it), but chapter 10 you could make bit more canon lore friendly: Lady Liadrin with Blood elves and General Tiras'alan with Draenei assaulting the Black Temple, instead of portal of Burning Legion you could have shown invlovement of the Horde and the Alliance and by making it portals to Orgrimmar and Stormwind and maybe even a nudge for LEGION with Maiev (who might have joined Blood Elves, but seriously doubt Akama and her would fight alongside Legion) returning to Illidan's "dead" body. While it could be entertaining, I understand why you went this way, the Illidari still had to assault Tempest Keep.
Lastly, I have noticed it in eariler version and I think it was mentioned on this thread before, Lor'themar is no battlemage, I think "Protector, Grand-Ranger, Ranger-protector" or something alongside that line would be better.
Regardless, good game as always. Thanks!

Oooh, didn't even realise Al'ar can break Chapter Nine! I will fix that.

As for Chapter Ten, I did actually have Maiev and Akama make comments about Kael's demon allies, but when I did some changes on the map, those had to go because I changed the order of how things went. But they both said something along the lines of how they do not approve and would never work alongside Kael if ending Illidan was not so important to them.

And for Lor'themar, I know he is not a battlemage, but considering his abilities, I thought it would fit him well.

For some reasons, I can't kill Kil'jaiden. Since he always use web/ensnare on Kalecgos every time and he can't proceed to activate the Orb, thus cutting off the trigger where he would be vulnerable. I've been attacking him for like 20 mins.
Happened to me too, I had to reload before the fight, on my second try it went according to script, so just replay the mission, maybe make some buildings in area where Kalecgos was held, for faster reinforcements.

I found some funny bugs....in Chapter 2 in the cinematic cutscene there is a boat standing on the the ground with other units....in Chapter 10 some Illidan's Forces' units remain in cutscene (when Illidan is defeated).....in Chapter 11 Illidan's Forces cannot defeat phoenixes properly(when phoenix has 1 HP it becomes immortal for some time).....in Chapter 12 draenei priestesses have unstable animated portraits

Sorry for primitive English and thanks for your campaign, tomoraider

Hooo-lee SHIT, I saw you comment in Jayborino's stream that the new Chapter 10 was hard, and you were *NOT* kidding. Extremely frequent attack waves coming from both directions of Naga and Fel Orcs, two *extremely* potent races, the Naga packing Royal Guards and Couatl, both extremely unfriendly in their own right, especially when paired with the amped micro that the AI in these campaigns seems to have, while the Fel Orcs bring Warlocks and Kargath - who, by the way, can come from EITHER direction thanks to, I assume, teleporting to different bases he holds around the map.

I've taken the second goldmine near by base, just holding these two small bases has been a major uphill battle, and I kinda wish I had an in-game clock kinda thing to track how long I've been at this map for, because both my gold mines are below 10k at this point, and I'm still struggling to dent the opening of that Naga base. The entrance to my base facing the other direction is mostly self-sufficient now, but if Kargath shows up from that direction, I'm probably hosed - especially if he brings just a single warlock with him, as Kargath with Unholy Frenzy spells DOOM. I'm REALLY hoping whoever shows up when (if) I take out this Naga base is really helpful!

EDIT: After taking out both bases... I approve. That is all.

Well, I will say this much: I used up all but about 3000 gold just taking out the two Objective Bases to get Kil'jaeden's reinforcements out. I spent the rest of the map coasting on heroes, a couple of Priests and Blood Knights, and a few Hawkstrider Knights doing hit-and-runs alongside allied forces. Took a while after the reinforcement bases until I remembered Maiev, who proved helpful in her own right. Basically, I let my allies throw reinforcements away while I cautiously supported their attacks. Took forever, but I eventually managed reach the point where all I have to do is take out Illidan. But first: some long-range mining from that last gold mine in Orange's north base until I can setup a Haven there. Then, some proper force-building to take out Illidan! Can't quite pull it off with what I've got left (I've tried).

Good to hear that it will be receiving a nerf though, I consider myself not-horrible, and well... like I said, it took all but 3000 out of BOTH Goldmines just to survive long enough to take out ONE of the two optional-objective bases - the other proceeded to fall pretty easily once I had one flank relatively secured.

I found the new map 10 awesome (tomoraider was there when I played it) and it looks like he's already updated the bundle to increase the time between Kargath's respawns. That was the only major thing that I found pushing the map from awesomely challenging to oh-god-make-it-stop challenging :)

Is your WC3 copy legit? I mean, did you buy it? Cause I once had a pirated version and it didn't allow me into battle.net.

The first mission after returning to Azeroth (acquire golem schematics) has to be one of the most rage inducing maps I have ever played in my entire life of RTS gaming. I feel like I have never ever played any mission that was remotely as frustrating as this one. The technologically outstandingly superior Undead managed to find an army composition that had me assault their base so many times, that the map actually ran out of resources for me to rebuild once again (UD seems to have unlimited resources). I have rebuild my armies in every composition I could think of, again and again and again and again and again and again with next to no progress. I have never felt that frustrated when playing Warcraft in my entire life, no matter the game mode or difficulty. The Forsaken had similar quests, (where your shit units get slaughtered again and again, it is not as bad as here though. That problem solves itself when you get access to Dreadguards in later Forsaken missions) but this is on a whole new level. I'm not going to rate this campaign, the map concepts, the story and the looks are obviously 5*, but I am personally feeling like -3000 right now and had no fun on this map. I was actually so frustrated and angry that I rummaged through my old mails to find my hive workshop password just to let off some steam. Now I just feel empty. This mission, I swear to god....

To clarify: I enjoyed the previous missions a lot and the Forsaken has to be the best WC3 campaign there is out there. I just wished we had a chance to get back at Mrs. Proudmoore, she was kind of a bitch all the time (harshly criticizing Sylvanas for having her own motives to kill the Lich King, even though she herself is extremely biased, emotional and unprofessional, almost getting Sylvanas' sister killed in that tomb). So thanks a lot for your work, even though I'm not feeling it right now :D I'll try again tomorrow and probably just wonder how I managed to screw that one up

I found these missions challenging as well. One big key that really helped a lot was utilizing mostly Arcane Towers for defense because they are most effective against enemy Golems and Dar'Khan, which tended to cause me the biggest problems. I wasn't losing much in my defense anymore, which freed up a lot of money for an attacking force. Sorceresses to silence Necromancers help a bundle, or Priest's to quickly kill Skeletons when they get summoned in bulk. Always bring ~3 Ballistas to finish the job! Footmen with Defend help a surprising amount as frontliners on the map before getting Golems of your own.

Haha, I apologise the map caused you trouble, but I am glad you like all the other aspects (as well as Curse of the Forsaken!). Jayborino has given a good suggestion, but when I tested this map, I clumped up a lot of towers for defense, a mixture of all three kinds of towers, and left some units to defend, I did well by leaving a decent number of spell breakers and sorceresses to defend.

The rest of the campaign is also quite hard, so be prepared!

Also, I'd like to ask a question those who installed the cinematic per instructions. Did it work for you? I've already heard a few people say it didn't work, and if it turns it doesn't actually work for even more people, I might just remove it.

It worked pretty well!
Isn't it the Burning Crusade cinematic trailer?

Well I recently finished the campaign and the unique chapter that gave me trouble was chapter Five, being attacked by three sides my gosh, that was hard, and the final chapter more or less because they were full upgraded already, I enjoyed the campaign at all and loved completely the dialogue changes, specially the change of Aewynne, and the cinematic worked well, again, thank you for this campaign.
For the model changes of minor heroes I can see a future upgrade of CotF :p

I have to admit the new map 10 is causing me to restart everything several times. Right now my only strong unit against the Orcs is the Sorceress 6 +, Polymorph can stop the non hero orc attacks. The Naga only can be stopped by brute force, Hawstriders,Archers, Priest and Blood Knights. Dragonhawks and the Arcane Golems are hilariously useless in this mission.

Not sure if this is something with my game, or if it's something anyone else has experienced but..

Aewynne has Thralls... interactions? Y'know when you click on him he says stuff? Yeah she does the Thrall stuff. Except her attacking and multi-click speech, which is hers. It's kinda funny, but my OCD hates it. Lol

Hmm, I did not really have too many issues with this map, but I do think it might be a bit too hard, as some other people have also said the same. I will take a look at it again.

This happens if you load any other map/campaign before mine, because Aewynne's voice lines overwrite Thrall's.
