I just downloaded and played it for a while. Its like an AoS with rpg in the middle. I love it but how does the AI work? they pick one hero and go though the map or roam?

Hi Keas, the heroes in multiplayer have armies respawning once there are no more units other than the hero. As the computer heroes level up by time the armies get bigger and with stronger units.
OK About the single player quest, there is a problem in this map version. But the quest will start if you wait. I had forgotten some testing units (Raziel Wraith form) and it seems to be interfering. I added a few quests. I will try and fix that problem and have a better version uploaded soon.I'm using version 1.29, and the map does not initialize in single player mode. I click the button, and nothing happens. What should I do?

My AI heroes just work the best and it felt like they were alive and smart. In this map I cursed because the AI as a tendency to be dumb so I had to make some triggers to call them back in action. Should the AI triggers I made worked as good that in my Star Wars map it would have been epic. It is not so bad, but after hours of thinking and trying stuff I gave up. Instead I concentrated on trying to make a good terraining that ressembles the map of Blood Omen and Soul Reaver and on the heroes of the Saga. The single player since the latest update is starting to be fun and feel like a real RPG game with the original Blood Omen story for the most. That sounds pretty lazy.First, I don't camera reset. Just because if find it is useless triggering and sometimes the camera view can be fun. Just you a mouse scroll without spending much calories.

The first part IS IMAGINED BECAUSE THERE ARE NOT GAMES IN THE TIME OF THE SARAFAN so yes I included Van Helsing in that ere because the LOK Lore doesn't mention anything about that era. If you go in one of the pubs you will see a waitress called Annie Pooh, that is my girlfriend's nickname.
I couldn't get to when Kain appears because I couldn't reach Janos. There was a (invisible) pathing blocker on the ramp to him. Helsing said I had to first find someone else before Janos but I couldn't find that creature. You should create quests in the Quest Log with detailed directions because the map isn't quite small. Plus, you might forget what to do if you save and decide to play later.I get in the real story Just after the Janos mission. DID YOU PLAY UNTIL KAIN appears? THEN YOU WILL SEE I FOLLOW THE STORY AND IS IS EXACTLY LIKE THE GAMES. So Far you can play until Dark Eden. What you played is a PRELUDE.
To me, this is still laziness. You could take some minutes to think of something to fit the universe. Please, not caring is the reason for many human failures and misunderstandings.I don't care if there are warcraft Items because the LOK lore doesn't exist other than for a few items. I'll really give this another try if you make proper quests in the log so you know where to go and what you need to look for (not saying you should give spoilers).To complete the JKanos Quest you should make certain you use Raziel and have him near the water and all the sarafan team is teleported inside Janos lair. If you use the crystal and activate the telporters once inside you can reach Janos. It is a quest with some puzzles.
Everything I wrote, is what's there. I have no idea what you're saying isn't true. There are Warcraft items and abilities, the gameplay=/=original series, superficial quest descriptions, camera issues which always trigger in certain areas (some being OK, others being annoying during battles), enemies with usual Warcraft mechanics (abilities, damage and armour types etc.), lovely visuals but with some places with few doodad and tile variation and mostly flat terrain (this is the least if not an issue at all), gates which only stay open for a time and you need a unit near the lever for other units to be able to pass through without it closing by itself. Please, be understanding.So this is why I am pissed with your destructive review because people will read it and might believe it.

Well, just consider what the map layout can actually let you do. I see you tried making it some sort of AoS. That doesn't work very well if the map is not symmetrical so everyone can have the same advantage. However, you could make it more of an RPG where every faction would have to do something in order to win e.g. defeat the boss of the other factions or do some missions across the map like in some sort of Risk game fashion. Of course, you could leave parts of the AoS aspect but consider the disadvantages it might bring. I'm referring to having neutral units from each faction do things on the map for the sake of the universe's liveliness.Some of your comments I agree with. For example the multiplayer needs a goal, but so far I cannot really think of one not so complicated.
Names are but a small part. The stats, abilities and whatever else they give should be fit to the LoK theme somehow.With time I might remove some Warcraft item names But now there is much more important work to be done.

When meeting the vampire archers after battling the wolves, the camera still changes in and out as your units circumvent trees to reach the vampires while they shoot at you. It's OK if you only play with one unit but when there are more...
Items are still Warcraft III. What do Troll Berserkers or Murlocs have to do with LoK?
You still have to leave on unit behind near the lever to be able to get through the gate.
Try adding different icons for the heroes so you now who's who when tabbing in a control group or using the F keys.
It's good that there are pings on the map for quests but they don't reappear from time to time, they only show once.
One of the Vampire Brides dropped Sentry Wards. What the hell am I supposed to do with those apart form sell it? Are there any invisible units to worry about?
So, why are the priests outside aggressive and the ones inside neutral?
Units should pause/stop during cinematic mode. Some of the heroes were behind (facing with their backs) the vampire hunters when talking to them.
That scepter... put it more in front of Helsing... I was searching for it for minutes...
During the fight with Janos, the camera shifts are horrendous.
I have no idea what those crystals in Janos' retreat were... got one of them and then after battling Janos (the heroes somehow teleported and reached him), that crystal was gone from my inventory.
Oh come on man, even Kain has the same spells as the Sarafan. This is not fun.

Kain has mana but only passive spells.
Inferno Stone in a barrel near the tavern in Zuhr-whatever.
Funny thing is that this Kain was too powerful to be killed by mere bandits... Actually, you killed him and the bandits suddenly disappeared...
Kain's Life Drain spell mentions the Dark Ranger.
Kain has two Hearts of Darkness.
I still have the boat I bought for 50 gold before dyingBut none of my items though. Went to buy others. Kind of weird that a Greater Potion of Mana costs 400 and Khadgar's Pipe of Insight 500.
Up until Kain's plot, the game feels like a Reign of Chaos RPG. Afterwards, it's not really LoK but at least it's a gameplay improvement.
The problem with his abilities is that their description is just a story, it doesn't tell any details.
Berserk's buff icon isn't the same; it's as the original one from Warcraft. I think this spell still keeps the 50% more damage taken even though the description doesn't say it.
Creatures can sleep at night. Some may even be avoided due to enough space to go around them.
You can get out of "boss" battles, regenerate and return to them while they are not fully regenerated. Thing is, you don't really have on what to grow level as creatures don't reappear.
Sanctuary's buff icon not the same as the spell's.
Problem with the bat spell is you can go to places that you're not supposed to reach yet. Also, you can't cancel/stop the spell. You have to wait...
Feed doesn't get stronger.
One of Kain's transmissions during the meeting with Vorador can't be all seen. Check that discussing to see if the text is not too much for the transmission box to be shown.
Too bad you can't carry enough items. You have to decide which weapon because your inventory will be filled with useless stuff which you can't drop.
Some of the Brides are stuck behind trees to the north-west of the mansion.
Anyways, there needs to be balance. Vorador seems to get pawned by Malek if you miss casting a few spells. Two pillar guardians returned during the fight.

Well you could just make more versions of that spell and add-remove them depending on Kain's level or the easier way, make it so you can level it up through the abilities menu like any other spell.vampirefeed spell getting more potent. But I wonder how to trigger this, I have always had problem when adding removing spells.
I love the passion you give to your work and thats awesome. I was interested in the AI because even if i love single player experience and questing. The AI give a random "replayability" which increases the chances of something never experienced before happen. And dont quote me on that because even in single player Rpg like this one have replayability but i think you know what i meant. Ill tell you something that happened to chinese authors that i have the pleasure to know and talk. One guy made an incredible map that was a MOBA Rpg style with incredible smart AI and i play this map regularly everytime i can as a default map. But even being proud about it he knows a lot of people dont make AI because is very time consuming and the effort sometimes is not worth it. But when he knew that a guy from the other part of the world (im from Argentina) played the map with dedication and love (because i translate what i could with google translate using the photo app on the phone and then i made a paint to correct the translation for future references). he felt this was the reason he put so much effort in. Great map and keep the passion up!

I see. I did not know that. I thought it was a bug or something that you get two from the start.What do you mean, Kain as 2 hearts of darkness. Do you mean lives (charges). He has 2 charge, you can use them to resurrect allies during the Nemesis battle for example (and there you gain a lot of levels by joining battle), otherwise those 2 charges can be recharged by feeding one of the 4 Blood Fountain found on the map.
Well, I was pretty much weak when trying to fight Nupraptor. I had to fight him a couple of times to get his HP lowered so when meeting him again he'd have less HP than me.I may add a few respawn trigger for some creeps. BUt you will get more enemies anyway in the story as I will continue with Kain evolves and Raziel Wraith. You will keep the same Kain simply with another Evolved look (the Yellow Kain).
No ! It is really based on LOK Soul Reaver game saga. I just included the name Van Helsing. I actually removed it in the update v 9.0 that I am going to make today. It has all the Blood Omen quests and many fixes. This is the update to have. I will post it later on today. I am just going to test it really fast one last time before.Ah, really based on a Van Helsing universe?
Thanks for the Bug report. I don't understand how humans can receive feed ability as it is triggered per unit type? I just tested a Human Sarafan and he doesn't ever get the feed ability. Most probably you played a vampiric race or i accidently put the wrong unit in the trigger. So tell me which one if you remeber. Skills are item removed then added. So all should be good, but about Janos it was because I changed the Unit, so now it should work. About 2 feed skills, can you mention the units. If it is with all other units than Kain, than I know how to fix it. Thanks.Haven't played version 9.6, but it gave me Ancient Vampire skillset lvl 6 whenever I reached that level on any character when I was testing 9.5 version of the map. And I mean every character. Janos in particular had the Ancient skillset he already had, but also got a second one. It also gave human characters a Feed ability and made two separate Feeds for characters that already had it.
I think it'd be somewhat easier if you just added the skillset as an actual skill for the heroes and trigger it, so that it advances its level and unlocks next skills with level. Plus it'd leave more space in the inventory.
Also, the camera changes are nauseating.
OK since the 9.6 update the items are al good for Janos audron, same for feed. But I realized I did not put him as a flying unit target when he is in Bat Form. This will be fixed in the 9.7 update. As for Raziel having feed. Weird. Maybe it is a one time bug or I never noticed it. I will check. For Kain I had many problems because he canges in so many shapes with that feed ability. But I will check for it. Otherwise so far I tested a few units and all seems good. I noticed Umah item cloak ability overlapped with her feed ability so we don,t get the feed button until she as all abilities leveled up. i will have to remove that abilty from her cloak (sad it was a good idea because the model wears a cloak). Wait for update 9.7. I have replaced many Sarafan models with more unique ones and I have a new Sarafan Keep model that is more immersive and I added a few doors on buildings. It is more cosmetic than anything, but it works. Try to finish the Kain quest without cheats. I tried balancing Bosses for update 9.7. I should release it around monday. Thanks for the feed back and have fun.I think it gave the Feed ability in singleplayer for human Raziel. I wanted to skip the Sarafan part and go to Blood Omen storyline, so I cheated that bit and used only Raziel, so it must've been him.
The double-Feed skill was present for Kain, yeah. The second Feed went away after using the wolf-form though.
Just move/teleport all heroes in a region where the camera does not change and/or let only Raziel do the camera changes and inform the player about it.Like I said I can address bugs easily, but I cannot fix all the problems with the narrow Janos lair. BUT, some things you experienced were not bugs rather a request from the first reviewer. Or were they? You would have to explain, did you have to use jump speel or flight after to cross those barriers after or before you defeated the bossess. Because I put those barriers for two reason. The first to limit Kain Human and the sarafan to some areas. The second and that was the request was to prevent Kain from escaping a boss fight. What worries me is it a bug you experienced or simply that. But in theory you should have not have even been able to use jump or flight during a flight. Well did you test the most recent version, because many of those bugs I fixed in later version.
About the camera. It is a problem while fighting that may occur in specific region. Especially if you have many units crossing those areas while you are fighting. I will see if simply moving some camera region around or making the time for camera region to turn on and off might do the trick in outside regions.
About the horse and items and the new pick up item from coffin ability that is a bug! Thanks I will make a trigger for only Kain to pick up those items.
Also the blood fountain, I may have forgotten to include it. That is an easy fix.
The Sarafan quest narrow passages is anoying in the Janos quest in his lair, but I cannot do much unless I limit the number of heroes entering his lair. Hum, what you suggest is making a camping ith loading maps. That is an idea I am thinking of, but you would not be ale to play mutliplayer anymore.
So the map is a 4 stars. Hope in the next big update I can reach closer and closer to 5 stars. But 4 is really good. About the armor, I need help by modelers and skinners for texture. I posted, and even wrote to 3 or 4 members that are good artists, but I got no positive answers yet. It would be a game changer. For example we could really personnalize some skins to look more like original characters form the LOK lore.
My next update will be maybe in a month or two. I am on vacation now, but will start working soon. I want that update to be good. I am working on it now and mostly adding nice models. I will also try and add souns and music. Also I will do atleat one Soul Reaver quest with Raziel. But again, the problem is map size, like you said it may be good to have loading maps. But still I will do a miny quest for him.

OK Fantocan I fixed the major bugs to told me about. Thanks for letting me know I would have probably not found out about it for a long time otherwise. It took me much work to retest and mostly to add a cinematic skip. I had to figure out a few things. I fixed the problem. I made it so only heroes can activate camera triggers. I also found out I had many cameras. My wrist started being tired of cat and paste LOLI see but what if your horse is far from you and being sent from the shop towards you while you're fighting and looking at the battle and then suddenly you get a camera angle change, possibly even the screen being panned somewhere else (where the horse went through)?
