Not sure I get it - doesn't appear to be very high? Though better than Linaze's whom I do like the process line on.

Neat enough, even though I personally hated those windows gadgets.

(I never really have a proper wallpaper because I never look at my desktop apart from when looking for a file in it or starting computer)

^ Still way better then Vista. XP is just W7 with an other UI. (Basically ofc. not counting the updates and advantages W7 has ^^)

I didnt feel like upgrading to W8 so ive been looking to see what i can do without spending $200 and making it look cooler. Theme is a fan-made Alienware (atleast thats what i was told, i cant find anyone with an alienware computer to confirm this lol)

Now that is a pretty sweet, even though I wouldn't be using it since the many gadgets is likely taking up juice from the computer. I really like the imposing sword.

ty and they dont consume too much except the topright one is mainly worthless and i want to replace it with a notepad-type gadget but i cant find one and I'm not good enough to make my own that would fit the theme of the other ones.

Yea, couldn't find one either.. only found a page with warnings against using them http://nakedsecurity.sophos.com/2012/07/12/disable-windows-sidebar-gadgets/ Dunno how bad that is given that I never heard about that before.

Literally as i read this some court show came on the TV with a black girl with some 2ft-tall bear dressed in court attire and when the judge asked about the bear she said "Its my security blanket, i cant go anywhere without him" ... You dont need to be a child to act like one

not really and i dont know, i used to dual boot W7 and Vista and i liked vista so much (w7 crashed constantly also) that i only used W7 if a program had no vista compatibility

My desktop is pretty clear, having only recycle bin and few game shortcuts on it. I like Windows 7's wallpaper so much I wont change it.

It's an excellent OS, fast and better than 7 in every way. Just to note, I haven't used the Modern UI since installation, it even boots to desktop.

Might also be, which is also a fact - that programs are made to fit specific OS and doesn't run as well on others. And likely also drivers, given how new an OS it is.

I've never encountered one. Once I almost did, but then I checked the compatibility mode box.

And regarding speed, Win8 + SSD = glorious speed.

I had seasonal backgrounds for my laptop. Now I use a few different backgrounds for different devices.

The first is my main PC background currently. In celebration of the Hobbit.
Second is my phones background. Used to use it for PC.
Third is my spare PC I keep at my friends house.
Fourth is my laptops background. It's coloring is better on the laptop though.

I have about 50 collected for winter and 100+ for every other season respectively.
