Is there really a point in upgrading to a Fortress in Chapter 4? We can only upgrade tech tree to 2 and there are no fortress requirement units to be produced and we dont even have a Voodoo Lounge ffs.

I really miss the voodoo lounge in chpt. 3 and 4. No way to heal your army after a fight, so you have to kill off heavily injured units yourself.

I wonder how many of you have found new friends in Chapter Three. ;)

It is true that the Orcs are currently lacking means to heal their units but they will find a way.

Okay so having recently finished chapter 3 and 4, i hate how we are forced to spam Necrolytes every. single. battle. just to have a hope of clearing out enemies seeing as we lack area damage and abilities, it kinda takes away variety and makes all other spirit lodge units kinda pointless to make.

Are you saying that the unit is too strong or the maps too hard?
Because Necrolytes have been like that all the time.

The ogres are located to the left of your starting base's warmill. Cut down or destroy the trees and you'll find them.
Cyclops*. Small difference. ;)

Its probably a little bit of both; in the first orc book we got Rangul's chain lightning, Vanessa's entire kit, Rath's avenge, the champion's pulverize so having necrolytes on that was just for faster clear.
The second book however, Rath has no avenge, Zairmak is purely single target and Grofzag only has ult which isnt even usable until chapter 5; and we dont even have units which clear waves fast besides the necrolyte.

I understand your concerns, trust me I do, but right now I can only answer this to most of your points:
Rath has no avenge
and we dont even have units which clear waves fast besides the necrolyte.
YET. ;)

Rath will have access to his ultimate the next time you control him and more units are coming soon as well.

Alright. I now have the time to make a proper review.

Chapter Three:
-The description in the loading screen is too large
"If he was a true warrior..."
-So, to Rath, revenge on a guy that killed his clan as retaliation is more important than the survival of the entire orc species? It is like these orcs want to be exterminated. Not only they provoke the humans enough to make them believe that their race cannot be allowed to live, but they even sabotage themselves and ease the job for the humans.
-Rath, what the hell?! Not only did you lie to a fellow chieftain but even killed one of your own soldiers? I hope he gets executed once the others find out about this.
-Review the hotkeys for the units. I think they are mixed up.
-Why didn't these Ares Knights appeared in the Human Book? And does this mean that some people worship Ares, the Greek Good of War? Do they know Greek Mythology? I have so many questions.
-An idea: Rath should also benefit of the Pillage upgrade since his clan is all about pillaging.

Chapter Four
-Why isn't Logan a main character or a commander? He seems more interesting than most of the other human characters and far more competent than Lerrig!
-I decided to ignore the optional quests. For two reasons. One. Destroying these bases, that serve as shields against the demons, will make us possible targets for the demons. Two. I got the feeling that destroying them would come to bite us hard in the future. I am a rational person that prioritzes pragmatism and reason over wealth and unneeded destruction, therefore I am not an orc.

Chapter Five:
-Why are the undead still in this forest?
-I helped the bearmen. Why?

47f6ced59ce82ea5ed7c45c34808b5db.jpg

Plus having more allies is more beneficial.
Good to see that Grofzag is another rational orc. I like him already.

He is a brute by nature and I doubt he will learn. Best case scenario, he will become more rational if Amari can convince him.

I think Ares knights did appear. Chapter 5 of the second human book if I'm not mistaken.

To scout and report to Aridon probably. Or Aridon just wanting to slightly tease us.

He knows that the orcs are in possibly the worst crisis in their history and he decides to go hunt down Greymore rather than trying to rejoin the rest. He kills a fellow orc simply for suggesting a far more logical action. He burns prisioners alive. Those are not the actions of a brute. These seem more like the actions of a low-functioning sociopath.

I hope he gets what is coming to him. A guy like him has no place in the Confederation Amari will create. Guys like him only live for war and too stuck in the old ways.

To scout and report to Aridon probably. Or Aridon just wanting to slightly tease us.

Since the Forgotten Ones are dead for good, the undead have no reason to be there, unless they are trying to purify the forest.

Yeah, it's made even more pointless when you realise Van Durce is going to order people to torture Greymoore to death, making Rath experience a bittersweet victory at best.

Sure, although considering how Zairmak was able to adapt to the newer ways ( indirectly confirmed by the official timeline), maybe it's not impossible for Rath to do so too. Very hard, sure, but not impossible.

All of his actions are pretty much driven by his thirst of revenge, the events of the last mission
in the First Orc Book, with the Demons pretty much breaking the backbone of the orcish invasion,
made it only worse. Rath has lost belief in Rangul's goal and only wants to get his vengeance.
The question remains what will become of him as a person once he got his revenge and by
doing so loses the one thing that drives him.
-Rath, what the hell?! Not only did you lie to a fellow chieftain but even killed one of your own soldiers? I hope he gets executed once the others find out about this.
I would like to add something regarding this:
You guys may or may not remember that the Darkmind Clan has mostly been burned to the ground.
In order to fill their ranks, many smaller clans have been "absorbed" into it by order of Rangul,
strengthening the clan again.
Therefore the clan consists of two groups: The former members of smaller clans and the old members
of the original Darkmind Clan. While the latter, like the Warlord Argath, share Rath's points of view
regarding "priorities", the former, like a certain unfortunate Tracker, do not.
I am not saying this to excuse anything that Rath did, of course, I just remembered pointing that out.
-Why didn't these Ares Knights appeared in the Human Book? And does this mean that some people worship Ares, the Greek Good of War? Do they know Greek Mythology? I have so many questions.
I think Ares knights did appear. Chapter 5 of the second human book if I'm not mistaken.
They did appear in a few missions of the Second Human Book (take a close look at the enemy bases in Ch. 11 A i. e.).
They are just elite variants of normal Knights. There is no connection to the greek god, I just used
"Ares Knight" for an elite knight in one of my many never released campaign and decided to use the name
here. I did not want to name every elite variant just "Elite Knight, Elite Footman" etc.
-Why isn't Logan a main character or a commander? He seems more interesting than most of the other human characters and far more competent than Lerrig!
He is one of the three sub-leaders of Daric's mercenary army - the other two being the ones you saw in the interlude.
Rest assured, Lerrig will not appear again. He already met Gardon and our favorite pet Zed by now. ;)
I am a rational person that prioritzes pragmatism and reason over wealth and unneeded destruction, therefore I am not an orc.
Grofzag and Amari may not be that different from you, my good @LISBOAH. :p
Though Grofzag may have made a mistake when it came to choosing his best friend.
-Why are the undead still in this forest?
There is more than one reason for that which I do not want to disclose just yet - but rest assured it is in
no way related to the Orcs. ;)

Victory?

The guy lost several warriors, both his and of the other clan, and decided to attack the Imperials head on, basically putting his entire army at the middle of enemy territory. If by any chance they reach where Greymore is, they might find themselves surrounded and forced to fight to flee.

A guy like him should never have been granted the title of chieftain.

Sure, although considering how Zairmak was able to adapt to the newer ways ( indirectly confirmed by the official timeline), maybe it's not impossible for Rath to do so too. Very hard, sure, but not impossible.

Zairmak is fairly reasonable for an orc. His greatest flaw is his adherence to the old ways. But Rath seems to be both too stuck in the old ways and too stubborn to even consider changing.

Well, he at least had the brightness to realize just how idiotic Rangul's plan was.

I think he will follow the path of Maiev in WoW. In the end, he will realize how empty he is.

He is one of the three sub-leaders of Daric's mercenary army - the other two being the ones you saw in the interlude.
Rest assured, Lerrig will not appear again. He already met Gardon and our favorite pet Zed by now. ;)

Good. I hope he enjoys leading maggots in Hell- oh wait, the maggots are probably more qualified than him! :D

Grofzag and Amari may not be that different from you, my good @LISBOAH. :p
Though Grofzag may have made a mistake when it came to choosing his best friend.

Those two are exceptions. They are the future of the orc race, while others like Rangul and Rath are individuals that are simply bringing ruin.

Are you sure about that? :p

I am now imagining the worst situation: both Greymore and Rath survives.

Did somebody say every book has different canon? :p
Either way, in the end, the result is a still unsatisfied Rath ( he still won't "drown the kingdoms in blood" so no matter how many humans we kill in that battle it still won't satisfy his bloodlust)

A guy like him should never have been granted the title of chieftain.
Sadly, he was probably the only one who had experience in leading an army at that point, so there weren't really many viable candidates.

They share the same storyline, however, the other factions' choices aren't made by you, they are preset from get go. This ends up as if there are 3 different storylines.
Ah, it is more than "just" that, actually.
Take Vanessa as an example:
In the First Orc Book, you freed her and she re-joined the Deathbreeze Clan.
In the First Undead Book on the other hand, she died because Sasrogarn came too late and was
raised by Aridon.

A similar thing can be said for Greymoore in the Second Human Book and Second Orc Book:
In the Second Human Book, he and the others fled to the capital of Kerrel.
In the Second Orc Book, he instead flew to a castle, pursued by Rath, in Kerrel.

Concentrate on destroying both the teal and red base first. The royal army base should only be destroyed shortly before you complete the main quest.
Training a lot of golems helps.
Don't forget to also barricade all entraces to your base, especially the left side, with a lot of towers.

Chapter Four.

I'm still thinking about tactics, and curiosit got me watch the map using iseedeadpeople, so... If extra ressources are needed, how viable would be an attack on the Imperial Army base in the Northwest?

Unless I'm mistaken it doesn't seem much more fortified than the one serving as the main objective, and it does have the upside of not opening the way to demons if you don't want to fulfill that sidequest but still want the additional resources to supply your war machine.

I just finished all available chapters of the second Orc book. I'm truly grateful that @Shar Dundred started working on Arkain campaigns once again. The story is pretty lit so far as every chapter is concentrated on a hero that we encountered in the first book as well as new other heroes. I guess they'll eventually team up and create the most fearsome horde that was ever seen.
The difficulty is still Cancer:alol::alol:. I mean I finished almost every campaign on this website on Hard difficulty, but NORMAL difficulty makes me struggle in Arkain. I can manage myself in Normal difficulty when it comes to Microeconomics types of chapters, but the other chapters are just too much.
Finished all the chapters in Normal difficulty (ah, so proud of myself) excluding chapter 4, where you're literally surrounded by 6 freaking bases.
Anyway, great work! hope we get a new update soon!

Enjoy the new interlude! I am sure you will find it very interesting! ;)

Good interlude. I found only one mistake. After we see the centaurs fighting the humans and return to the orcs, we can still hear the sounds of the battle still occuring.

Damn! I keep liking Amari more and more! :D

Damn you Sasrogarn! You misogynist wretch. How dare you treat your own sister like that!

Good to see Rangul realizing just how bad he screwed up. The invasion is basically over, the Forest Trolls are most likely gone, the Darkmind Clan has gone renegade and will most likely doom the other clan as well and their home is gone as well as most of their people.

I think Amari and Vanessa will get along just fine.

Towards both Imperials and Orcs all I feel is hatred. I have no love for both factions, one is a bunch of self-serving scheemers, self-rightseous and backstabbers and the other is a group composed of hypocrites, bloodthirsty savages and short-sighted fools.

Well, Amari definitely destroyed Sasrogarn and will quite literary do so again, probably with the help of a certain warlord in a later chapter ofc. ;)
Her thinking is also quite ahead of its time. Salria will shield them quite well from the demons and the addition of centraurs and at a later time gnolls and probably a few other races will boost their forces even more considerably.
At least Rangul learned his lesson. Him being Warchief is still damaging to the orc race though. Would be better if he is gone.
Oh, and people using the fact that you've lost a relative to the orcs in order to gain you as a volunteer. Now where have I heard that before? :p

Not sure if you could call him misogynist, after all he likes Vanessa.
He is "just afraid" of Amari. :p

She is one of the smarter beings on Arkain, I think that is obvious - despite her race, right @LISBOAH? ;)

Well, considering this part of his bio, I'm counting on it:
"Grofzag is considered far less simple-minded than most others, including his close friend Sasrogarn - the friendship being the one thing whispered to be the only mistake he has ever made, so far."

I wonder how many of the exceptions for both sides you people could name....;)
Except Rangul, Sasrogarn and Rath everyone else from the orc side is fine.
The imperials have 2 exceptions, one who may die pretty soon and another who will get outlawed pretty soon. So, sadly their exceptions will run out pretty soon.

Yes, he will. Competent and visionary orcs must stick together.

Imagine if she was born a human, where they would actually encourage her intelligence. She would have been a genius.

Orcs: Amari, Grofzag, Okri (maybe), Vanessa (yeah she is human, but still)
Weird that the women seem more competent than the guys. Are you secretly a feminist Shar? :D

Imperials: Gardon, Merlon (maybe), Larine (before Gardon corrupted her), Logan

For Orcs that is not entirely wrong at the moment. :p
There are still quite some competent male orcs, like Grofzag, Zairmak, Lokar...
And despite his errors, Rangul still managed to unite the Orcs, so he may be stereotypical but he is not entirely incompetent. :p
Are you secretly a feminist Shar? :D
I know you are joking, but I still wanna point out that I am neither secretly nor officially or in any other way anything like that. :p
Not the opposite either, I am just a normal person - except for the part where I am all awesome and arrogant and cruel and stuff, of course!
Imperials: Gardon, Merlon (maybe), Larine (before Gardon corrupted her), Logan
Thoughts about Dorten? Or Marin?
I considered writing van Durce or Praxeus, just to see the reactions, but I think I can already see how that would play out.

Dorten seems kind of competent, but he did the wrong move of believing that Gardon was like the rest of Imperials. He should have joined him rather than assuming the worst of Gardon.

Marin was easily the most competent of the Golden Guard, but he decided to use his engineering skills for short-terms goals rather than long terms ones. The Kingdoms and Ironfist would have benefited more if he had decided to share his machines and teach others.

To be fair, most of the time he had no intentions having either of them benefit from his work.
Only exceptions who are still alive count on my list. :p
So what about the undead exceptions? :p

Every undead is competent, that makes everyone from their side an exception. One of the advantages of being under Aridon's leadership.
If I hadn't rated them based on competence though, Aridon, the 3 bonelords and Krom are expelled from the exception list because they annoyed us and will annoy us many more times in the future.

It is not that they are more competent under Aridon. Aridon's will is what unites them as a whole. Even if they may keep their free-will in some level, they all share the same goal of serving the undead cause.

They have been 'freed' of their personal agendas, vendettas or more prejudicial traits which could motivate them to go against Aridon's wishes. Sapphira was allowed to get her revenge because Aridon allowed it. If Aridon wasn't there, she would have probably marched against the Elves and maybe slaughtered them sooner or later.

The Second Orc Book is happening right at the same moment as the Second Human Book, but with some minor differences in terms of plot.

I think it's her, yes.
I guess in this book, Blen took the wrong side and therefore didn't followed Gardon and the others to the same castle.

Pretty sure we will be the orcs fighting human and then getting raped by some demons.

So in this book, i would assume that, the golden guard has not killed blen and Aedale reaches blen with his karskin commander. Since there is a interlude in the second human book whereas they arrived late and blen was killed.
Either way, looking forward for the demons again in every chapter :D
