Actually Iraq wasnt just invaded for oil purposes....I'm sure it was a tempting reason dont get me wrong...But members of our government had a personal agenda and vendetta against their mistakes made in a post Gulfwar offensive. Paul Wulfowitz, and Cheney, and others were already pushing for an Iraq invasion even before 9/11.

Not to mention that our executive branch was divided on issues.

It's a snowball effect/the mob effect, Hakeem. As I said, more and more people get involved in a little conflict, and soon enough it becomes a civil war/global war. Wars are more often than not not voted on.
If they aren't voted on, then it doesn't qualify as "Very little power imbalance".
Not like it's really possible to get an equilibrium of power in the first place...
Maybe not.

I ROFL AT THE FAILIURE OF THIS THREAD.

Russia a threat ? LOL.

Read up on the wars in Chechnya, you'll find russia is perfectly happy with trying to keep theyre country united, let alone the prospect of going to war with another nation.

Srsly, wth is wrong with you guys. China is three times the threat russia is.

Off topic: lulz america is so going to war with iran.

Edit: I dont think america made war with iraq just to "get even".

Even if that was a reason at the begining, it doesnt justify staying there.
Whoever is pulling bush's strings has other things in mind i bet.

Going to war with Iran and Iraq was pretty dumb. Besides the fact that America has become the "World's Police" and must aid who ever the good guys are in a war, it makes a bit more sense. But our goal was to defeat terrorism, not throw Saddam from power and all that stuff. The goal was to find Osama and capture his ass, and that was supposed to happen like 6-7 years ago! George Bush is a disappointment to me...

I'm a lot more scared of the middle-east than Russia. I think China and Muslims are going to be the next power houses of the world. Both Chinese people and Muslim people are out producing both America, and Europe.

The founders of the USA wanted us to stay in America and no go somewhere else for war.
They wanted it to become a utopia with guards, not a conquering nation.

Forget George Bush, I'm disappointed with most of the history of the USA.

Bush did not give Saddam weapons. Nor did he give him WMDs. And Bush was a governor before his Presidency. He had no power to help Saddam.

Iraq gained WMDs in the first Gulfwar. And the Coalition destroyed them. In the second Gulfwar (now) the Neo-Conservative internationalist movement wanted to act too quickly and invade Iraq even before 9/11. Powell was against this and warned Bush to not invade. Bush took both routes, and had the UN send inspectors expecting Saddam to cheat, and hide weapons...Ironically he didnt have any. And the inspection wasnt allowed to run its course because of pig headed agenda pushing.

You can think that China is a rotten turkey stuffed with dirty immigrants. And America is a big fat American burger with mayonaise, ketchup, mustard and uh chocolate and more coloured stuff on it and low grade meat. Europe is a classy beef then. :)

Thankyou on behalf of the Epic'ian Empire.

I reward you with the Azure Star medal.....(hold on I have to get a pic later)

Saddam was actually being uncooperative enough that it looked like he did have WMDs. Just throwing that out. And getting the thread back on course.

Indeed...once again it was veering off course.

He did cooperate in the end. And we never found any when we finished.

One of our biggest problems was relying too much on the Iraqi National Congress for info....that turned out unreliable.

The other was, we stupidly reopened the Abu'Gre prison, and we basically built the insurgency when we failed to prepare for a post war Iraq.

It will take a massive change in direction to fix what we broke.

Our leaders failed to look to experience, and we basically cut our own wrists.

Ugh, raiding iraq was pointless, its like in oblivion when you just randomly go on a killing spree in the imperial city. it accomplishes nothing, afterward your left going: was that even worth it ?

The awnser is no, though some houses may be raided and goods found (in real terms, this would be oil) the ammount of collateral damage and losses to ones own self far outnumber that of the gains, and peacefull, even stealth maneuvers, would often be found to be more effective.

Woah wtf. i just compared the war in iraq to one of my infamous Leroy Jenkins charges... shados is gona have to work extra hard to bring up the amount of lost cells on that one.

Were you in such a rush to be contrary that you forgot Divine doesn't post as often as cells divide?
Yes, but half is a lot, and doesn't get brushed off like nothing, wise Hakeem-sama. We're not even sure adult neurogenesis is existent or not, and the number of cell deaths and the speed at which cell regeneration goes wouldn't nearly be efficient enough to recover with ease (proof: our brain size wasn't doubling before Divine had an account. COINCIDENCE?????).

Anyhow, this is a refreshing change. Someone else started it this time.

Yeah, while cells naturally double in numbers, brain cells don't.

If I understand properly, then I feel the need to explicitly say that I was kidding with my above statement about cells doubling, which should have been obvious with the common knowledge that brain cells (and all the other cells in the human body) don't double in numbers as quickly as bacteria. (And even bacteria don't double in numbers on a regular interval.)

So how will this affect my baby-eating?

Russia's nothing to worry about. It's not long before I take it over and blow up the moon

Dude, me and Jesus already have Russia shotgunned. We're going to take it over with one tank and a piece of looping music. We may have a samurai drive the tank instead of us, depends on the success of other plans.

Russian is not thread. There is more dangerous countries in the world. Like Israel and USA which are attacking all the time everywhere in the world.

I'm sorry but that is incorrect. The US is not a threat to the world. Infact the world's survival depends on the US because we are the linch pin of the global economy.

We are also not a threat because we through NATO purposefully made ourselves not a threat.

And Israel is not going around the world and attacking either. If anything it is succesfully defending it's land like any self respecting country would. And by land I mean a tiny piece of land. (Israel is a very small country)

You are however correct when you say. Russia is not a threat.

The countries most likely to start wars are the countries least likely to be able to win a significant one, although any first strike those countries may launch is guaranteed to be rather devastating to the area the first strike affects. With such a description in mind, the first country that I thought of is North Korea.

Dude, no way. Russia's mine. Your samurai and son of god will be no match for my ninja pandas.

Ahh, so my infiltration plan worked! The panda and polar bears work for me, along with several other species. The world will be ours, and we plan to stop global warming by growing bamboo forests!

-*meow*
No, dude. Those pandas are spies. They intend to sneak troops into the bamboo forests and topple your reign by means of guerilla warfare and stealthiness! And pointy objects.

Nuke Suit from Parasite 2, very high damage and slow attack speed. Has a chance to explode after shooting to many times. That suit RULES! But I take the Ice or Sonic or Heavy or Stealth Suit you know.
