Gryphon

Gryphon
Soaring the skies deep within the realm of the Dwarves, the proud Gryphon race have always responded to the call of the Alliance. Armed with fierce claws and sharp beaks, these wild beasts alone can tear a small battalion of Orcs. What more if they were armed with crazy wild Dwarves wielding giant Stormhammers? Since the Second War the Wildhammer Clan has always rid the skies of not only Lordaeron but also the entire Eastern Kingdoms of the Dragonic threat that controls the skies. Because of their great and valiant acts, the Alliance has given these mighty beasts the role of standing as one of the noble Alliance's greatest symbols.

Misha: well.. it still uses that not-so-good texture, maybe it could be better if you rewrap the whole model to an actual, ingame texture of the gryphon. same thing is about armor, it feels sloppily made and not wrapped right, the model's internal name still says 'hippogryph' and the overall model shape is still like a hippogryph..i suggest you tweak that some more.. also, armor does not disappear in the death animation, so that's an issue, as well as maybe it not being rigged that well..

so.. take your time to fix the issues, don't update until you do so, and ask if you need something :)

so a rework, eh? Looks nice, but you should try to make those 'ear' feathers follow both the head and the neck bones, also the feline body has its neck clip out on some anims, mainly on attack animation, that could be tweaked too. wings are looking cool but i kinda dislike that they're just static, which is minor.. the body could use a lill better wrap at the feet if possible, but in overall, i like it :)
(PS, don't use sentinel death sound :p use gryphon or hippogryph death sound)

further zoom out the portrait so the whole head can be seen clearly, add 'hand left/right' attachments to the wings, and a weapon attachment to one of the talons. then it should be good to go, i think..

changes made, resource approved

I actually really like that someone (you) thought to make this... But while it makes sense to "lion-ize" your existing Eagle model, doncha think that simply removing the Dwarf would be easier & result in a more... better Gryphon? No offense; that head is just very different compared to the body.

Been waiting for a model like this forever! Thanks for making it.

The only thing I think might have room for improvement is the head. As others have said it should be an Eagle instead of the owl, but then again the only eagle heads in WC3 were the BM's pet which might look weird with this and the Griffonrider which looked terrible.

If possible I'd look into trying to give it a sleeker head that uses the beastmaster's Eagle texture, though. Or a version that uses that for people who would want a traditional fantasy Griffon model.

Really great work regardless, though!!

civil review :D

After your updates:

Good:
-Beak looks much better.
-(I don't know if it is just me or the gryph has a very nice running animation).

Bad:
-The wings are still too...still.
-Front legs are too green.
-Draw some eyes.

I am still at 4/5.

Oh... and just a suggestion - try to make flying animation also! It will be nice. (but fix them wings first :D)

Will Upload as Seperate Version Once Done
Mesh From Scratch
No Animation Yet
Lots of Wrapping Issue

WIP
The original was good, but this is better in a lot of important ways. I particularly like the head/face; more expressive. (Could use more of a ruffley-feather-mane to match the one in-game... But maybe it's a baby? Or a female?)

My only issue is the same one with the original; those wings are just really weird. Not the wing tips; the strange ~60 degree bend that holds them to the body.
