FAMOUS HALO

OVERVIEW:
In a world of boring RTS, AoS, and tower defences, a new type emerged to
wipe off the dust. The shooter. This Warcraft III map uses a custom made particle system
that enables players to shoot at each other and effectively dodge
the others weaponry. This is Famous Halo.


FEATURES:
You can dodge, and you have to aim. This uses a projectile
system so you will only hit other units if your bullets/projectile
hit them. Toggleable camera system.

A cooldown has been added since the original footage. And Famous intends to add in "bases" where the two spawn points are, this will make camping harder.

Here is a list of my ideas. I've talked to Famous about most of these, some he agrees with, some he doesn't.

  • Add quest log information.
  • Add cooldown to attacks. (Done, previously planned)
  • Enhance the terrain. (Done, previously planned)
  • Add an adrenaline thing to help prevent camping. If a player is killed X times within Y seconds of being spawned he will get a temporary stat boost.
  • Allow players to purchase items in their base.
  • More to come...

Here are some ideas Saber and Famous have discussed.

  • WTF Mode. This means there are no cooldowns.
  • Make "Fire" an ability, so you don't move toward the target whenever you want to attack. (Done)

Looking pretty good, but your intro implies that this is the first shooter, which is a lie, you liar.
Terrain seems pretty boring right now. I would except to see a little more from you, even in a WIP (get those new shots up!)

That camera is teh sex. Good job HINDY.

Some bit of terraining on my part. Saber and Hawk also helped. Saber did some arena terrain and Hawk a forest.

I thought the levels would be chosen ET or MaD Balls style, not spawning in a base and picking which area you go to! Spawning in that middle area is honestly pretty lame, but I guess until you get a choosing system in place (and I hope you do, Famous) I guess it's fine.

Yeah. A gravity hammer would be pretty sweet. But melee stuff would suck in this game. Trust me.

If units spawn in an impenetrable base perhaps they should be able to purchase items there and such. What do you think?

Well there could be a close quarters map and you could be able to lunge.

I say make blood gulch and lockout (blackout). 2 best maps in halo.

Alrighty, some majore progress.

-Fixed CTF
-Added King of the Hill
-Added Assault
-Created winning conditions
-In order to win the game, one team must win 3 matches, so after one game mode is complete that is a match. You can select same game mode over, or switch.

This means, that basically.... *shifty eyes* Testing may begin soon. *shifty eyes*

Ever think of makeing just a single/two player Halo map and run thru the halo game?
its just a idea for later
Halo is a fun game i hope your turns out being a good game too

Will's effects are absolutely awesome, they add that impactual feeling an explosion should have. Has anyone had the opportunity to play this online yet? I'm curious because I found alot of alternative camera systems can make gameplay a little sluggish.

Now that is awesome. Could I ask whose camera system you used? Or have you made it from scratch?

I'll be keeping an eye on this, a refreshing take on a wc3 shooter that, as far as I can see, has everything a shooter should encompass, fast game play and of course big explosions. :D
