That may prove to be very wrong. It seems to me we'll need a lot of attachments like armor, swords and stuff. Better try something like that to get ready for the real deal cause we will need high quality attachments. It is very irritating when you see 2 textures of different resolutions on the same model, ah, that rips my eyes out.
 
Hm...Can you make an attachment for the Heroes Forestrial Sword(most green)?Use a blade thats like a green-tinted,thinner,slightly shorter version of the Chaos Wolfrider's blade,maybe use a green tinted skull doodad as the guard?

The guard is the bit that makes a sword like an upside down cross.

For the normal Forestrial sword,I suggest a normal Wolfriders blade with the same handle (or whatever) as the Heroes F. Sword?I'd like this one to be tinted green aswell, just not as bright.

Also for the Forestrial shields,I just need the blood elf lieutenant shield tinted pure green and the captain shield (no spike) to be tinted a slightly darker green.


On another topic, Volvox and I decided we need a Dwarven Warpriest,like a Mountain King with a reskin:
Black or White beard,or maybe both (two models)
armor skinned to fit with captain items
captains helm wings added to the helm,no horns.
if you make this model FROM an M.K,remove the Hammer and all the hammer using anims and then add a captains shield (three horns) to his empty hand. Along with that,replace the axe with a sword (kind've like the captains)

Anyway here is what I need Revellion:

Now, Volvox here is what I want you to do:
**Use Ultimate Terraining Map**
Create a nice looking starting base for two teams(each side of the map)
For the first team the base should look like a castle(I think)
Second team's base should be something like corrupted land with lots of skulls and spikes, basicly something like demonic base.
For that use large map size, as we will have lots of things to fit in there.

Hellclown make attachments for the following items:
**All of them make green tinted**
Forestrial Cleaver
Forestrial Gauntlets
Forestrial Shortsword
Forestrial Mail
Forestrial Helm
Forestrial Defender

Forestrial Shield "Vanguard"
Forestrial Platebody "Aegis"

And Syleona please decide what Races each side will be able to choose and their bonuses, and I will think of different Weaponry and Armory like Forestrial ones...
 
I also have another group of metals in mind:
Dreug (Named after the victor of a battle that revealed this strong ore)
Cauliis (Named after a warrior who is said to descend from the stars)

Dreug or Draugus (Dwarven language) is roughly denser than Forestrial Ore, yet less resistant to magic. It has a red tint.

Cauliis is naturally white, highly magical but extremely weak against melee attacks.

First of all,i've already shown you:

I've sort've rushed the Timber icon, but anyways,are you sure we can't just use the Orc Timber icon?Also,what should the Ore and Bar look like?

I think we should not go into doubling each item and making hero and non hero one, as it will add lots of extra file size and complexicity.

Also I already made a new Item set:

******Neptritium Ore******

*Tinted Yellow*

Neptritium Ore comes from a different world of high redioactivity and has the quality of
being the densest element present in the known world. Very dangerous to mine as the
radioactivity will be keep on blasting through your body and tearing you to bits and pieces.
Emmits high radioactivity and damages everyone around the owner except the team members. When
all the parts are made turns into Neptritium Set which gives ability to cast radioctive storm.

***Forestrial Weaponry & Armor***

Neptritium Sword
Neptritium Gauntlets
Neptritium Platebody
Neptritium Helm
Neptritium Shield
 
The hero items stated are like Vanguard and Aegis, but with a mana bonus and health bonus, maybe its own ability aswell. The only difference is that they are rare finds from kills.

Also,I've decided to work on some new icons I've named Alpha Stop, Alpha Hold & the Alpha Sword..Tell me what you think.

I did, the helm, shield and sword. Its like having a medium helm, large helm or royal helm to complete a set of platemail,theres just the one-uppance of the Royal Helm over the usual choice. Refresh the page & look at my last post aswell.

Also:
The alpha sword should be a 100% drop from the toughest boss ingame, maybe turn it into a godly item?

At the moment everyone is only thinking about making the toughest and strongest thing in the gme, but what about the worst and middle-quiality items? Also I think there shouldnt be something like a godly item, because then everyone will try to aim for it and forget about everythin g else... Your icons looks pretty bad made, I mean the quality of them is poor, we need quality icons, and try concentrate on the icons I asked you to make.

Another thing!

We must focus on simple weapons without any magical quality, also to armors, simple potions, herbs, resource items... etc etc. Those are one of the most important aspects of the game. It seems that you are forgetting about the main aim of this idea... : /
It's not about "Get the big bad ass thing and kick off everyone!"

There should be no item that makes a hero too strong. Even in late game, there must be at least 40 % of dying when attacked by 2 or 3 heroes at the same time.

you're talking dota now... but there is always a way to bend the rules, for example in dota, you get leoric, buy him a refresher orb. Everybody keeps saying how noob you are to buy a str hero an int item, but when you refresh your reincarnation, they all shut up. Balancing to perfection is impossible, we can only balance the map to the point when one character's advantages are so tiny that nobody really sees them.

By "attachments" I assume that you mean models that go with the icons?
I've started to work on the sword and was wondering what kind of skull you wanted on it.

yeah, i meant all kinds of things that characters would carry around when they pick up items. Anyway, i completed a part of the terrain and i want your opinion. The fortress is still empty cause i don't know what buildings will be inside, but they'll get in their spots easily later on.

I like it but it sees to sunny in contrast to the rain try changing the time of day or adding a light layer of fog to make the weather and lighting match other wise it looks awesome.:grin::wink::thumbs_up::eek::razz:
 
Very nice work,Volvox.But the grass doodads along the Thick Grass are just a little too bright,maybe you could darken it?

Hellclown,for the sword i'm just looking for a doodad skull (skull pile skull)

Also,for an axe do you think you could shape it like a bearded axe?A bearded axe is basically one-sided and the edge goes down very low (close to the bottom)For body armor,you'll have to shape all the beginning units so it fits them first,I think.

You could have just changed the time of day (really only a temporary fix but it would still work).but yeah fog is good to I was thinking like just the lite white for in the weather effects for the regions but colored would be kinda cool.

Okay we need a second modeler there is no way that I will ever be able to do all of this before it is needed.

Maybe around February i'll have my computer repaired and have 3D max back,then I might be able to help, as i've decided to learn the advanced bits of modelling.

These doodads should work better than the ones in the UTM. We should add that guy in the credits as "Special Thanks" and also credit Wc3C.

On another topic:
I think we should add ourselves as heroes!If theres an even number of us,we just choose our sides before we're in. Design your own abilities too, i've already got mine down:
All For Nothing;
Every time the Berzerker takes damage he loses more and more control, eventually going berzerk (Uses triggers so that if the unit takes damage, he is given an item (auto-use) that boosts his strength by 2 and waits 20 seconds before giving him another tome that removes the +2 bonus from each attack)
Raging Arms;
The Berzerker increases his armor for 120 seconds, during this time, it is nearly impossible to land a fatal blow (Mega powered defend)
Chaos Wing;
The Berzerker swings his weapon wildly, sending massive amounts of raging energies towards a target unit (Weak triple cast Shockwave)
Enthrall;
Upon using this skill, the Berzerker grows to an immense size, giving him a large damage bonus, small speed bonus and a decent attack speed bonus, but dies from the strain of this ability.

The big weakness for 'me' is the low hitpoints, but highly useful defensive abilities,so it seems he'd be an even character if he gained 3-5 extra armor for the lack of hitpoints gained with levels.

Nice little stray off the theme. My hero would be a dark ranger with changed abilities.
Vorpal arrows
Gives 'me' an artillery(line) damage with high damage reduction but high range too.
Ethereal arrows
Autocasting, hits the enemy's soul instead of his body(drains mana but does no damage), kills ethereal enemies at once.
Lethal arrow
Hits one opponent for a weird poison effect. Does damage every second, starting with 1 damage and doubling the damage every next second(1,2,4,8...), lasts for 9 seconds(last is 256 damage).
Hide of the forest
Permanently turns 'me' invisible. Invisibility is broken with any action except move and the blend time is 5 seconds.

I could even set a minimum range since this set of abilities could easily kill anyone from afar.

BTW my hero abilities are:
Death Note:
Takes 20 seconds to cast in which the hero is unable to move or attack. Range 1000. When casting is finished the target dies instantly...
Summon Shinigami(Death God):
Summons a powerfull Shinigame which deals a high damage to the enemie's soul and steal mana.
Vaizard Mask:
The hero puts on a Vaizard mask which boosts up the damage, speed, and attacking speed by an enormous ammount, but lasts only 11 seconds.
Getsuga Tenshou(Thunder from Heavens):
Sends a line of lightning that cuts deeply through the enemy dealing great amount of damage.

Agility type hero called "Vaizard"

First of all,at lvl10,I'd probably 1 hit your target before you cast your spell so...shorten the casting time and maybe turn it into a 2 hit Doom?

We should all have you added then,this way we can communicate easier and probably more about the project.

Off-Topic:
I've finished the basics of a remade version of my "Mana Sapper". Maybe we could use it for one of the characters in the map?Also,its so bloody hard to do with PAINT!!

Volvox are you going to do revelation's suggestion and make a map wide maze with way gates and such?
if yes it would be cool if there were two kinds of way gates the way gate for the "good" side and then an alternative for the "bad" side I would be happy to make a model for it if need be
