Hey, Kyrbi0... I just thought of something. You're excellent with unit and techtree design, and presumably balance. And you're also a good coder(I... think? don't really know much about coding.).
Would you perhaps be interested in collaborating on an old project of mine and a couple of friends sometime in the future?
----------
Woah, really? What an honor. : ) I should say, though:
----------
...You're excellent with unit and techtree design...
----------
Well, *blows on knuckles, rubs shirt*, I don't know about "excellent"...
But I definitely love designing stuff, and have a lot of experience(s) & knowledge from which to draw on.
----------
...and presumably balance...
----------
HA
Yeah, you'd think so, right? Well, I can hope... I keep trying, and I'd like to think that I can get some reasonable 'ballpark' numbers that are balanced <span style="font-size: 9px">(mostly by comparing to existing in-game stuff (assuming of course that this is something for/comparable to the regular game))</span>... But then again, have you seen nearly every entry for any Contest I've entered? Lol, I am frickin' notorious for leaving in ridiculously over-/under-powered stuff (Goblin mini-race & the Saboteurs, Nightwalker hero & his Ultimate, Archdruid hero & Preservation/Dreamscape... etc).
But I can hope. And try. Lol.
----------
...And you're also a good coder(I... think? don't really know much about coding.).

Lol, this one worst of all... Would it surprise you to know that, for all intents & purposes, I don't know a lick of coding? Yeah, I mean, I've dabbled a tiny bit in GUI, to where I know how to do basic stuff... But mostly just trigger-enhance custom/modified abilities; most of what I do is in the Object Editor. Heck, I was actually disqualified from the Zephyr (spell/coding) Contest due to my inadequate coding. xD
The sad part is, I'm getting an Associates in Computer Engineering in a few months when I graduate, and I have taken a series of computer & programming classes... I should know (or be starting to know) programming languages. I'm decent with the ideas but horrible with the implementation/syntax/etc. Meh.
But yeah. If you want coding, I'd talk to Cosmicat. Or, if you want someone alive (lol), perhaps Cokemonkey11 or Icemanbo? Both, from what I've seen, are great & know their stuff.
~Now to the important part~

Would you perhaps be interested in collaborating on an old project of mine and a couple of friends sometime in the future?

You know, I can really only say "Yes...-ish. Kinda-maybe. With a sprinkling of 'plausibly'."
I'd have to hear more about it (i.e. if you're doing a big campaign about "killing all Jungle Trolls", I think I'll just set fire to your Hosted Forum xD <span style="font-size: 9px">(no but really, I have certain 'tastes' for modding, and if it's something boring like "another new kind of elves" or "DEMONS" I won't be super-enthused...)</span>), and about what you have in mind, who else could be involved, etc etc. But assuming that's all fine, I'd love to... Though I must acknowledge the reality of my situation (to both you and myself). I am incredibly busy. Less busy in some ways than I have in the past (better job, working 'less' hours, fewer classes), but exponentially more busy in others (namely: I have a son now, so a growing family to take care of). I've already found that with what little free time I have, I have waaaaaay too many projects going on (& some big ones, too) that take up my time; I make it worse by joining nearly every Contest I
can
(heck, even lately campaigning for & arguing about & hosting Contests, no less!).
All in all, while it would be a blast (probably) & I'd enjoy the chance to work on something with others... I'm just not sure I can commit to joining something like that. At least, not when I know I'd be letting people down (heck, as it is, I'm already sweating out this Joint Writing/Art Contest thing... Got such a great Artist for a companion, that I just pray my writing is up-to-snuff & more importantly, not procrastinated to oblivion).
Now, I'd absolutely love to be involved as sort of a 'reference', or as a 'half-way' member; i.e. contributing where I can, throwing ideas around; I can generally find time for typing (writing, i.e. discussing) here & there. And if I manage to get life in order such that I could later jump on & actually help out materially... Well, let's just hope. xD
But yeah, those are my thoughts. Either way, thanks very much for the honor.
Respectfully,
Kyrbi0
