WW3: Nuclear Sunrise v1.34

Wellcome to World War 3 Nuclear Sunrise, the most well-succeded attemp to bring a real-life war simulator into Warcraft 3. With over 26.000 downloads over the world*, this map brings to you all the tension of a global-scaled conflict in a possible reality not far from ours.

I'm not a selfish person. Since Blizzard extended the max filesize limit to 8mb, map is no longer protected. You can modify this map as you wish, or use the systems included on this map on a map of yours, but dont forget to give me credits for all systems, and read the comment file explaining the rules of how to edit/republish this map. As long you follow these rules, you don't need to ask me authorization.

If you want to play with AI, dont use more than 2 computer players or game will lag like hell (Blame wc3 engine!). That happens because this map has epic battles with hundreds of units on each side, and when an AI orders too many units to advance/move/retreat, game lags, and theres no way to fix it. But I can assure you: If you play on solo against 2 computer players, the game is still funny and can last very long.

lolz havent played ure map in ages

i like the new changes (wow so much since 1.31 o.0)
but there are still some minor things that need fixing:
- whys there an undead shade near the white house thats under the USA's control? lolz
- chaingun hasnt been fixed

but other than that, everything else is cool =]

i would suggest no new units are needed atm. most of the players who play in my games get confused about the techtree and just end up massing armored units and end up getting them raped by air (or they just spam one type of unit)

...and also, is it ok if i host an optimized, protected version? just for easier hosting?

Suggestion: A kind of Soldier that you can put weapons on it and he'll start using them(Example:Equip a M249 in a soldier,and he'll become a machinegunner).

PS:If you don't like the suggestions,or it can't be done,just ignore them =).

-Love the actual warfare...its amazing
-Nukes are too easy to get, $2000 for a nuke? xD
-Terrain is amazing when doing cross country war :D

Suggestion: to help make the game more interesting, make it so the player has to produce each and every piece of a nuke, before they can buy it.
Suggestion: Make morale harder to deplete, so many soldiers go nuetral just because of morale, and then you end up losing the fight. xD

A satelite with nukes don't sounds good. It's too much unreal. I am always trying to focus on modern warfare, not futurist.

Can you tell me exactly wich beaches are impossible to unload? (I mean, can you print them, and post here?)
Yeah, people already suggested me to make more expensive nukes.
About the AI lag, blame wc3 engine, not me.
The Humvee's bug happens due the auto-unload trigger. (making the humvee automaticaly unload the troops when engaging the combat, making players dont have to micromanage it.) But I think I can stop this bug if I increase the attack cooldown, and the damage.

I have lots of things to do. Americans found a way to make Laser AA Batteries and Anti-RPG eletromagnetic shields (both will be added on the secret research facility), Russians cancelled the Su-47, Brazil purchased Leopards 2 from Germany and Rafaeles from France, South Africa is modernizating it's army, and I still have to fix the broken miniguns. Jeez, I will not able to upload this year, only on 2010.

Sorry for the inactivity on those last months. Thats because I became a Doom 2 mod too, then I almost forgot about warcraft.

Yea i know that the WC3 engine is bad....:D
I will get a list for which beaches wont load them, i can think of one right off the top of ym head and its the one all the way to the left on Antarctica. Its like flattened off and it wont let them unload there :D +rep for a good overall map :D

China has a lab in the Mts where a unit might get stuck. If you put some silly thing like a soldier there, not much trouble, but the Rus MBT or experimental MBT might wreck havoc because of the elevation (range boost or smthing)

Something i noticed but in your map you have the USA using Enterprise class Carriers when they have been replaced by Nimitz class aircraft carriers. Even Nimitz are going to be replaced by Gerald R. Ford Class but only one slated for 2015 but if WW3 broke out like in your map im sure production would be ramped up and should be available for the usa to use once 2015 comes around for 12k they include F-35 production Built in SAM sight and would be probably the most powerful Carrier in the game.

I do allow you to republish your modified map here at the hive, or in any other wc3 site, as long you follow the editing rules that I wrote in the trigger comments.

hugos ideas are pretty good...but we can obviously phase out the nuclear satellite. thats way too imba lols.

i think the stealable plans (i.e b-2 spirit from the US) is fine for now. doubtful that more are needed unless ham decides otherwise.

instead of having yet another soldier added to the tier, a better idea is to just make one soldier for the barracks. with this one soldier, you can equip him with a weapon (permanent change like M113 or moddable) to allow him to switch to that class (i.e Rifleman as standard; can then be equipped with a light machine gun to become an Automatic Rifleman or grenade launcher to be a Grenadier). this means that you wont need to spend time and resources training multiple types of infantry units; now all you need is one instead.

just my two cents. :grin:

Do anyone here played "Men of War: Red Tide"?
Every Unit has an inventory, and if he run out of bullets... lucky for him that he can punch...
Btw here is my suggestion:
Soldier+M249 SAW= Machinegunner= No Bullets= Go Back into a normal soldier... Get what i mean?

Hugomath's suggestion is also good like the satellite that fires missiles... actually it looks like a SDI(Strategic Defense Initiative) for me...

I think I already mentioned the man of war... Its a great game, and I like your idea pomelito 123. We really could use something like that.

And Ham Ham, did you fixed that bug that those light artilery-howziterish thingies ater becoming neutral and ocupied by infantry are still paused?

Did the submarines don't launch nuclear missiles anylonger cuz you removed,or is unable to make that spell?
Also:
-The M2 Bradley,when you put the upgrade "M2 Bradley Warhammer",the original M2 Bradley don't disappear,its just like the normal Bradley is a kind of builder of Warhammer Bradleys or something =P.
-If the submarine thing that I mentioned still work,you could make the submarines able to upgrade to nuclear launchers submarines,or use that minigun system for the sub (put an item at the shipyard for the submarines wich transforms them into nuclear missile launchers submarines :p).
-Will you increase the amount of vehicles that can be upgraded,or will be just those 3 vehicles?(Just to remember:the Stryker APC isn't capable of upgrading for those vehicles that appear in the description.)

EDIT: Forgot to mention: The Cruiser missiles don't go up,they simply pass through the obstacles like they don't even exist =O(I think is unrealistic).

Hey i've just heard that the U.S Air Force will be creating a variant of the 747: Anti-ICBM Aircraft or something.
Also: You've switched the name of some Countries' Capital at South America: The correct is: Bolivia = La Paz; Paraguay = Asunción and Peru = Lima.

(PS: Saw the 747 thing on Discovery Channel =P)

Great map, I could use the mobile artillery model =D. Any idea on who made the model?

One quick suggestion, there are no DISBTN icons for many of the units, leaving lots of ugly green.

Actually thats because before the Bllizard patch 1.24 the filesize of the map was ver limited so it was immportant to spare as much kylobites as possible... now its possible, but probably it will be made only in Final version...

your map seems to be the wrong file type. it wont appear in my custom games list and i can't open it in world editor. you need to change the file type.

Well the ICBM Launcher Submarines are intersting and I know,it already was in a older version and I want to know if Ham Ham will put back them. But I just give the link so you guys could take a look and see if there's anything intersting.

Hey i sorta read through everything then (yes everything) and i was wondering if u need some help? as in ideas, etc for this final version. also i dont think this will exactly get popular until diplo maps as a whole get more populer like on starcraft its not the map just the audiunce your trying to present to. also what happened to the unique infantry idea? it woulda made for a more realistic (russian conscripts, cost less but worse in general) etc. or is map size constraints?

I don't think he will need help, this is probably the final version since Starcraft 2 is comming out this summer, and continue making the map on Starcraft 2 instead of WC3.

Your right it probly would cause lag. I think it would probly work better in Starcraft 2 especial if the max map size is larger. Along with better animations for missiles and stuff along with 100% customizable UI.
