Well i figured the first person might add to the whole "realistic" thing (You can view the units hands as well as any *equipped* items (special effect attachments)), even at the the third person would be a good perspective too. But your map, sounds cool already anyhow!
Actually the camera rotates with the unit without giving you a weird angle or going through objects. It auto detects hills, valleys, doodads, other units, etc and automatically adjusts the height and angle of the camera so that there is no collision. And how close are you guys to finishing the first version?
Still makes no sense. What, they look at you and just assume you're good or evil? In a game without those paths? Really the only "good" or "evil" will be the military and the bandits (depending on the country).
The npc's will be very agressive or very friendly with him, but never ignore him or let him go away(maybe offer some cake before let him go away LOL).

Type: No target/self (ranged weapon required)
Immediatelly reloads the weapon and increases the attack speed of the weapon for few seconds. Has a long recharge time and some pretty good reaction and shooting skills.
Also, as I guess you should add Aimed Headshot/Legshot/What ever else aimed-shot abilities as active. You know, takes some time to prepare and hits a specific part of target's body.
here is some ability ideas, which i did not specified on how they work because they are subjective
ambidextery
you have born with the capacity of using both of your hands to do things, despite you usually only use one hand to do things(matter of habit) you still control both hands very well
efficient digestion
you always feel like you have eaten an elephant, you for sure can absorve more nutrients from every food you eat and every drink you drink, but you also get more drunk when comes to alcoholic drinks
born to shine
you are somehow known around, everybody who look at you think of you strongly, being bad or good, they cannot look at you and be impartial
i was infected
you were infected at some point of your journey, and you don't have what to do about it, you are doomed, but somehow the infection develops very slowly on you, making you be on the middle of both life and death worlds, humans think of you as a zombie and will try to kill you, zombies will try to eat you if there is nothing else to eat, and worse, you start loosing your mind to the your zombie side(every time your psycho gets low, you start loosing control)

you no longer get afraid of things, you saw the worse and you felt the worse, now everything is a small slice of the cruelty of the world

Sound a bit offensive. Anyway, every time you take an difficult action, there will be a skill check of the appropriate skill. Difficult tasks are harder to succeed. You gain new skill points when you use an ability associated with it enough times.

Apart from what everyone else said,
Wc3 dynamics doesn't really support fp as it limits your reaction time a whole lot, which severely increases the difficulty in a zombie map where you constantly need to be on the look out.

It sounds very good, but depends on how the conversation system turns out.

Thats what makes a game fun... i mean, there has never been a true zombie outbreak, so this game is already far from realistic.
I was thinking about interfearing with NPC... having companion NPCs could ruin the realism (as someone already mentioned, the compansions could be just used as some meat shields to stand there still while you run away from zombies). So I was thinking... social skill can be useful while communicating with some scavanger gangs! You know, there are a bunch of groups of people that walk together and fend of the zombies, so they won't attack you unless you attack them. So each gang will collect from you a specific item type (Ammo, weapons, scrap, food, something like that) and for each item you give them you'll recieve some points (Depends from charisma or whatever it's called level, all points are stored as trigger variables). When you get enough points, you can buy an item from the scavangers. The item types they sell are different from what they collect. The higher is charisma, the larger variety of items you can get from them (You can pick a reward from them with dialog winodw). So for example you meet a scavanger gang that collects food in exchange for ammo. You give them a bunch of food cans and you get a box of ammo from them.
Oooh, those new models sounds pretty awesome... maybe you could post screen of them? I kinda like would like to see them...

Nope, the map contains a zombie generator, so you can play with any pre-existing zombie virus or create your own by customizing the values.
The map also have a random story generator that will contain 6 different possible stories upon final release. You are free to come up with one if you want, but upload it as a word document in a zip archive or usetags

Well yes, you will be able to customize how the zombies will work and behave - their weaknesses and strenghts, some special traits (Can be killed only with headshots, can mutate similary to L4D zombies) and such.
Oh, on the offtopic news, today I had a dream about zombie apocalypse... seriously! You know, with all that trying to survive, scavanging for stuff, shooting into zombie head, murdering infected people who are close to you... I know, sounds weird, but sometimes I have some pretty epic dreams...

The story lines for the preset viruses will follow the outbreak origins to the original movies and/or books.
Any custom viruses will randomly be assigned a preset backstory. Remember, the game only has one way to win - survive. There is no main storyline or quest that you need to complete to win, and all tasks are optional, to be completed at the players discretion for bonus items.
I'll be writing these storylines and quests, but like Silent said if you have an idea please upload it in hidden tags or a .pdf file for me to look at.

No, that's because it's a disturbing and somewhat unneceseary element of gameplay.
If they wouldn't like pissing in public, Duke Nukem Forever and Postal 2 would never get released.
