Oh i didnt think of that. Good point.
For the gold issue, you can't it's hardcoded, you need a custom gold return system.
The same models can be used, yes, but that's not creative.![]()
Contestants are to create an improved or at least an alternate version of the current Warcraft 3 races, be it Human/ Orc/ Undead/ Night Elf/ Naga.
1.)Yes
2.)yes
3.)no
No, is there a cinematic when you play ladder games? You can type a background on your race when you turn in ur submission.
I think I'm gonna mix druids with ents - they seem to go well together...
Do new heroes must exist in the warcraft lore? That is, in melee games the heroes are not characters of warcraft 3 lore at all...
I've wrote above/under the units what they were and could someone tell me if I'm going in the right direction? Also, do heroes have to be from the WC3/WoW lore or can we make something up?
Is there a minimal number of content we have to put into our race, btw? For example, how many units should we have as a minimum? Atm I don't have too many, will be coming up with more (and if I can't I'll just change my race, still early in the comp), but I don't really plan on making too many units, you know? Keeping true to the campaign race feel more than anything

Well i might join but someone should clarify:
- Can we use custom resources? (models/skins)
- Can we use triggered spells? (GUI/Jass/vJass)
- Are there any other judges or is this gonna take more than half a year again?
Also adding a cinematic to introduce my race would be "legal"?

• You are allowed to add many unit-types, so that you seemingly have a vast army to pick from, but if they are too many, you doom your points in Strategy and Gameplay, because Strategy gets ruined, since there are way too many options to choose from, which blocks the player from deciding, while Gameplay becomes complex.
I think I'm doing it right so far. Here's my first WIP if I am.
Fel orc race ftw!
Btw, do I have to post a screenshot or my map? o.o
Hmm... if I understood correctly, we can make up names for our units as long as they tie to Warcraft? For example, I choose to name a unit Bandit Overlord. There is no such unit name in Warcraft, but it sounds warcraft-ish. Is it good?
So The custom model of a Crypt Fiend for example should be similar to the original one? Does the same go for the abilities?![]()
Well, since those are counted as resources, which are allowed to be used, my guess is yes.Hmm, I can make my own models\skins\icons for the map, right?
Arthas, Cairne Bloodhoof, Muradin Bronzebeard, Uther, Admiral Proudmoore, Lord Garithos, Rexxar, Grom Hellscream, Chen Stormstout, Magtheridon, Balnazzar, Tichondrius, Varimathas, Maiev, Illidan, ...The names must be existing? What? Tell me one name of a melee hero which exists in Warcraft history.

Do I need to count more?
so they have to protain? we cant have like "John Smith" for a paladins name? it has to make sense somehow like how blizzard made their cheesy names like "John the light bringer smith" lol
It really depends on what you meant with melee. There are several meanings of the word. Sorry for not understanding what you wanted to say.I said melee and i said it in bold.
Ugh, I guess that they should.do the triggers have to support MPI?
