I didn't hate this map, I just found some portions of it tedious. I like puzzles, I just dont like having to battle through countless guards, so I wouldnt mind testing more maps, as long as its not just pointless brawling in them

w.e. you made a map that glitches all the time, I just think its best to either toss it or take it apart piece by piece to find out what the hell is wrong with it

@Blake8 THis is why some of your early testers left, you kept working on that one glitchy ass map instead of all other the material. That map is a waste of time

Here is what is currently being worked on in terms of the world map, the second land mass, consisting of two continents

Alright. I just emailed you guys the map sketches as well as some other idea, also the map you send me is like half way done, I played it as far as it went and there were no glitches or errors, but it was kinda hard, it would be good to make it easier by reducing the number of enemies and perhaps giving you more time until dusk so that your enemies are visible and cannot ambush you, also that critical strike ability they posses...man its a pain

Still, the creativity of the mechanics behind some of those spells amazes me, take the aura or the life essence spell for example...that's some really ingenious stuff right there

WTF is up with that Crusader unit? It's like a Naga Royal Guard on steroids, just several of these can take out your whole army plus demolish your base in mere minutes, and it can only be hard countered by air units, wtf, what's the point of having such an op unit?

The unit is too damn OP, it has cleaving attack not to mention a critical strike ability that allows it to deal 1,000+ damage to a single unit, this will destroy any hero that comes close to it. (I send a group of 4 knights to fight it and it basically destroyed them) I don't know what you're thinking here unless you intent the player to use hit and run tactics to defeat it.

Have you tried attacking the Crusader with your Hero? The critical strike ability the Crusader has cannot target Heroes or units with Resistant skin, so you're safe.

I've tested this out and I know for a fact that you can defeat the Crusader unit with minimal damage to your troops by attacking it with a hero and constantly bombarding it with spells. The unit has 1550HP, but those level 3 spells do at least 250 damage to it, and it doesn't have any abilities which reduce damage from spells.

@Razorfang
Pyramid head, how are they even similar?

@Apostle
To easily get rid of crusaders you basically need to keep them at bay by immobilizing them, in that particular map you need to target them with entangled roots, and keep hitting them from all sides, once the duration of that runs out hit them with a frost bolt, and then again with entangled roots, if you have Master Yanes in your attacking party make sure you level up his vortex spell to level 3, this will slow down his attack for a time plus dish out 225 damage over 15 seconds.

Keep doing this and make sure to keep the melee units away when the crusader isn't immobilized or stunned and you should get rid of him rather easily.

What about when you reach the base and while trying to defend it you have to face off with 3 of these things at the same time along with an army of footsman (warriors)?

Here's a strategy which I found to work very well:

Once you take control of the base make sure that you level the Hero with the lord garithos model to at least level 6(I believe that his experience is capped once he reached level 7 in this mission), do this by destroying the creep camps around the area, (btw the murgul alchemist found in the eastern camp gives you a bounty of like 800 gold), make sure to upgrade garithos' Soul siphon to level 3 and also make sure to learn his ultimate combat mastery, this allows you to take a crusader head on. Build lots of cannon towers as well as swordsman/knights/spellcasters to take care of the soldiers.

When the crusaders come take on the first one with the garithos, make sure to cast soul siphon and use Yanes to heal him, also stall the others with entangled roots and other abilities, 1 on 1 a level 6 garithos with combat mastery and soul siphon cast on him should be able to beat a crusader, just make sure he's fighting only one crusader at a time, there's a chain lightening item with several charges that can be obtained by defeating creeps, give this to Yanes and use it on the attackers, with a bit of micro managing this should win the battle for you, you could also build towers in the way to stall them, but the crusaders can literally demolish these within second so it wont be worth the resources.

Also I don't know if its random or not but if you go raid the outpost to the northwest a unit there drop a tome of +2 strength.

Hope that helps.

Regarding the mission strategy; I recently discovered that there is a goblin merchant in the south (near the creep camp) who has goblin mines. If you have the resources buy a few and lay them around the front of your base, this will make the mission a hell of a lot easier, the only downside is that the merchant restocks the mines at a very slow rate, so you wont have a lot of mines to work with.

@Siler thanks man

Also I think I found a bug, the enemy captain keeps talking even once you've defeated him. I've beaten him and like 2 min later his new quotes appear on the screen when no enemy is around.

It's meant to allow you to destroy buildings and towers from a good distance away to make things easier, it's somewhat similar to a nuke strike from that ghost of a chance mission from wings of liberty

@Apostle The flamestrike item is meant for a raid mission where you start off with a single hero and its your goal to get past an enemy base in order to get to the other side of the map, one of the things blocking your progress is a set of 3 arcane fury towers clustered together (you'll never get past this if you take it head on) however if you destroy an enemy hero (mini-boss) outside the base he drops this item and it allows you to destroy the towers from a safe distance. It's not meant to be some super op item, just something which allows you to progress past clustered fortifications. I haven't finished this mission, but as you already learned the item and its ability is fully functional. Hope that clears things up.

That's a damn good function for this item, I just thought it was meant to ease your pain when dealing with buildings since heroes do reduced damage against fortified armor. Great thinking :)

Hey, if you guys are still set on making that aerial combat map and still wanna use that bomber model as the boss (which has no side guns and therefore can only target ground units) make it so that it summons small fighter units to defend itself, I mean otherwise this wont be a boss fight at all, this idea just came into my mind just now while looking at our previous conversations and I thought I should share it.
