As I've mentioned before she will have a cloak of flames, health items that will increase her hp to around 2,000, as well as other enhancements when you face her, also when you face her its more of how the map plays out rather than how she herself is buffed

Well you don't just face her alone, she has two bodyguards (both heroes) Ghrenis the Vicious and Ansert the Deciever who protect her at all times, for the majority of the map you will have to destroy 3 bases which all have a pile of bodies in the center, you will have to go and burn those, after all 3 are destroyed, dioneve along with her bodyguards will appear in the back center of a map, near a particular cemetary and she will raise a whole host of shit against you, you have to go and defeat them, when you do she will get angry, and invoke a special spell that will burn the whole map, thus you have about 3 minutes to get your hero to a exit point in the south of the map

at least that was the plan, and we've only gone around to making the terrain of the map so far

well 2, but she is shown in other missions, and also it can be safely assumed that she was the one who raised all those soldiers in the road to ashvelia mission

also if you're wondering about her entourage

Ghrenis the Vicious is an undead knight
his skills include Chaos Strike, discharge, skeletal mages, and combat mastery - a skill which you love so much and his default is hardened amor

Ansert the Deciever on the other hand has the model of an acolyte
his skills are frost bolt, sleep, thorns aura, and doom with spell shield as the default

Bro, you just want me to use your stupid undead castle idea, I mean in theory it would be easy to make a mission where you first defeat her forces and then go into her castle and defeat her there, but the castle thing would be like the Rhivenhall mission except completely unnecessary for the story in any way, Razorfang said the same thing, it would just be better to defeat her along with her forces instead of sending 2-3 heroes to destroy her in a caslte and all that,

if you want to make the castle mission by yourself then by all means do that, Im not wasting a minute of my time designing a level like that, we already have rhivenhall, plus anther somewhat similar dungeon level that's necassary for the story, not making a third and completely pointless level like that, besides players hate that shit

@Lord Aiden If you wanna make the mission do it, make it a rather small map file because it will take a long time to make if its large, personally I think there is some truth to what Aster said, it's not necassary to have a mission like that, but if you really want to, knock yourself out and make it.

If you do end up creating it I would suggest you use the dalaran ruins or dungeon tilset, have the player see the level though a slightly dark blackmask screen, and add lots of visual effects, you could even make it look a bit like [Role Playing Game] - Kalak'a'hui - TEST MAP RELEASED, maybe ask @Neruvatar for some help and advice if you want, again these are just suggestions and I'm just trying to be helpful

It can turn out pretty good if you put the time effort into it, look into other caslte/halloween themed maps before doing anything to see how you can make this level good

you know one thing that completely gets me is how you don't expand on certain characters, for instance those Dioneve bodyguards, how come they dont have any backstory whatsoever?

I think Ghrenis the Cruel would be a much better title than Ghrenis the Vicious

but for his lore all you gotta put is that he killed a whole mess of people and there you go

No, me and Blake had discussion about certain maps, and there was no reason to make certain maps too "dark" I mean you could kill off heroes here and there, but not the main ones for no reason, and certain maps such as the "hallway to hell" were simply abandoned, just ruins the mood of the campaign unless youre into gore, pointless slaughter and other very bizzare things, (this was a mission the sole purpose of which was to demonize Dioneve and her close allies in the eyes of the player)

something like that, it was a really dark mission, I bet San would love, he just wouldnt stop playing it, probably sit there and play it for 48 hours straight

You know Blake had me look through most of the Arkain maps in the world editor, and its like all of the elite units were the same ability wise, most of them having some combination of Resistant Skin, critical strike, Envenomed weapons, hardened skins, that was it for their abilities, I mean you have elite units from one faction be almost identical to elite units from another factions (besides their names and appearances) that's why we started specializing our elite units; each one is unique in its own way, also it made sense to do so because magic based users are not gonna have abilities like critical strike

You guys need to check WOS in the editor, it will be much more helpful, also develop other abilities like defensive stance, block, limit break, etc.

we had things ready, apostle left and many files were just lost, we needed to start over, not from scratch but from a point very close to the start, we had the ideas, concepts in our heads, but other things had to be created from essentially scratch

There were major glitches and drawbacks involved in that, so much so that it was never implemented, I mean would you have the game have like 3% chance of glitching up each time you play for the sake of one or two abilities ?

not all of it, either way we have the specializations here

anyway regarding the specialization
here are some:

Critical strike for warrior types

Arcane resistance for mage types

True sight for guards

Spell Shield for mage types

Lifesteal for Rasler's guardians and dioneve faction

Envenomed weapons for assassins (had to be nerfed for tech reasons)

Defensive stance for warrior types

Frenzy for other types

Pulverize for knight units

Cleaving attack for (i dont remember what it was)
