It would not be right, even though I'd love to watch you do another spell.

Maybe... I will join... Maybe... Not. We will see. I am just tired that I spend the whole night 5 hours working on a spell which went MEH, which I later throwed out of the window.

One spell is easy. Making it synergetic and having a unique concept is really much harder.

And redscores, I didn't mean the effects as in gfxes. I meant more the effects of what they do.
 
Knockback is overused because it looks funny and is just to realistic...
Cmon, when a bomb explodes next to you, you aren't just injured... you are pushed back or something, but you don't stand on your old position anymore.
When someone hits into your stomach you make a step backwards, and so on :O
My idea would involve knockback too at the moment, but I'm to LAZY to do it xD

Well, I actually hate it too. Me as vJasser - in the last contest, I got a minuspoint for having one mistake in my code. So if I'd work with GUI and convert it to Jass, what then? Full of leaks and such! That is kinda unfair :/ vJass is definitly harder than GUI and I really think it should be rated thatwise ... poorly, there are many more GUI user than vJasser here! This post is not meant as offend against GUI users, it is just my personal attitude in that and it annoys me, really ^^

Holy Shine & Cruelty

Holy Shine
Creates a wailing ball of holy light healing all nearby friendly units by 2/4/6% of their hp. Also casts a buff on them during a certain time and then explodes. The explosion deals 25% of the hp of any affectes undead unit
Damage: 25/max.
Range: 900
Type: Active
Cooldown: 15s

Cruelty
Spawns dark energy which shoots out harming energyballs, dealing damage to every nearby enemy unit
Units near the center also receive armor reduction
Damage: 10/12/15 per hit (-1.5/2/3 armor)
Range: 700
Type: Active
Cooldown: 13s
One being cast on the other spell results in:

Combo
If both of the left abilities are active (on the field), they fuse, creating one exact copy of each nearby enemy unit. The copies gain invincibility and a poisoned attack (lasts Lv*5).
Note that all active instances of the left kinds will be removed

It's much harder to make GUI MUI and as effective as possible with GUI.
Since this is a Spell & System contest with the purpose to practice and to think about such things, GUI stands Jass at all.
I i doubt that all Jassers are GUI experts.

I was, back then, 2 years ago or something:p. I simply just hate the GUI coding whereas click-window-scroll is the key... And it takes too long time.

It seems like I am probably entering anyways. I got the first spell almost working soon (needs alot of tweaks though).

And Squiggy, those are nice ideas, but I don't think the combo fits at all ._.

Squiggy, there was some thing that's not good
1. "Holy Shine" hotkey is H, it have been used for "Hold Position"
2. Why only few undead are on the map? It make harder to test Holy Shine exploding damage.
3. Combine all of these temp location to one variable with array, it make easier to import.
4. Change shockwave effect on Cruelty to some dark effect.
5. Holy + Dark = Dark Illusion? It sounds doesn't fit.

well, nice effect, and unique MUI Methods, but there is still some problem.

To all, I've update my spell. All Kingz comment (Well, not all) is fixed.

You are welcome to your own opinion, but that doesn't change reality - reality is based on facts, and facts are that Jass is superior to GUI.

As for your comment that GUIers will stick with GUI, and Jassers will stick with Jass:

GUIers are those who don't know both. Jassers almost always do. It is almost unheard of for someone who knows both to use GUI frequently (redscores is the only person I can think of, out of hundreds and hundreds). Therefore, the views of the Jassers are naturally more relevant to a comparative study, as they are the ones who actually have the resources available to compare the two.

it will always be jass > gui :D

2.vjass should not be rated better than GUI because if GUI was so damn easy, do it yourself...
3.@Squiggy hell the first two spells look good but the synergy looks:
-not fittin
-lagging
-overpowered

1. We aren't arrogant, we are just way better than you :D (that was meant to be hypocritical btw).
2. It's not that it's easy, it's that it's inefficient and crap.

Actually, if your real number is only up to 9.9, you could use an action something like this:
Substring(1,3(String(Real Integer here)))
Or something like that.
Anyway, I must agree that JASS is more efficient than GUI in various aspects as GUI is only a portion of JASS. I use GUI but that doesn't mean I don't know JASS at all. I tried to learn it many times before bu got stuck on the part of loops where I couldn't get anything done as there were lots of errors etc. etc.
Overall, I would say the two are equally good, but the code used for Warcraft's game mechanics is the most imba.

I finally managed to think of a decent spell idea, its something like this:
Skill 1:
Rock Pile- Creates lots of rocks and stuff in the area to block enemies.
Skill 2:
Rock Bomb- Causes a boulder to be thrown at the target point. If the boulder hits a rock pile, the rock will "explode", causing smaller pieces of rocks to fly outwards. When the rock bomb falls to the ground, it will explode in a similar manner.

Thats more or less the idea but might not even do anything this time :(

Nice spells though i must agree i fail to see how light and darkness synergize...
If you meant light like real light and not in a holly way than maybe i would understand(something like refraction and such) but i never heard that light magic and dark magic work together, most of the time one dispells the other...

Frost GripShackles the Target with ice, making it move and attack slower by 35/45/55%.
Targets also suffers 40/80/120 damage.
Lasts 8/10/12 seconds.


BTNFreezingBreath.gif
Ice BurstTurns the target into the Ice Crystal, dealing 90/180/270 damage,
and prevents it to move for 0.75/1.5/2.25 seconds.

Or

Gathers the ice forces into the Frost Nova, damaging units in
AoE 300 for 70/140/210 damage and slowing their attack and
movement speed by 25% for 1/2/3 seconds.


If casted in combination with Frost Grip, both effects from
Ice Burst gets greater effect.
