The second time Leo's hand touched his mind was open, and immediately a shockwave of emotions came over him.
An image came through, like an immaculate flame it burned in his mind.
And then they all saw it, like it had been branded into their psyche.

Marais examined it. "You're right. They've been misplaced intentionally. Flamer... no, flames. The letters spell out..."

"no... this cannot be..." Ekrion thought of the image again... yes, he was sure of it... The letters spelled 'Shroud'. "It spells Shroud... The demon." Ekrion says whit a dark and heavy voice, his eyes blackened... That name was a curse for all Crycons, and hated by many... "But why..."

"R.O.H.S.O.U.D

Flames
Which
Burn
----------
Chromatic
Thunderous
Doomed.

The letters aren't exactly random they've just been moved around, bah riddles, I hate them. I would say that SHROUD is mere conincidence or a decoy - the leftover O makes no sense."

Meyla continued to squint at the projection, trying to see the real pattern.

"Perhaps the O is something metaphoric. Like a zero, rather than an 'o'. It mentions the Bladebringer, most definitely. But Shroud covered the land in darkness, and yet it says the path is clouded by darkness. It has to have something to do with the wretched thing that caused this."

"What I got was Shrouod from FlameS, WHich, BuRn, ChrOmatic, ThUnderous, DOomeD and maybe we are all seeing this the wrong way maybe it's not a name but a password or a key to something...." Still puzzled Sameal began to walk back and forth.

The moment Meyla stepped through the doorway everything became silent around her.
The water enveloped her, and the room was no longer blurry.
Everything was calm.

Then there was a movment, the water shifted, a strong force shoved her way from the doorway and whirled her deeper into the room.
Deeper, deeper...
A pain in the chest, the feeling of air being pushed out of her body, an enormous eye appearing in front of her, water rushing into her lungs, teeth, claws, razor fins...

Then, as if in a stroke of luck, the powerful waters sent her flying out the doorway again.
She landed at the feet of her companions, and coughed up water as if the water itself loathed being inside her lungs.

A deep voice echoed through the room.
Let the Rite of the Maelstrom... Begin.

"Whatever is in there won't allow you in." Amused Sameal soon picked up his weapon to be prepared for a assault from the doorway.

Ekrion looked at Meyla "Do not be so hard on yourself... you at least did something." he said and then prepared himself for anything.

Ekrion looked at whatever was moving in the water, moving closer to it, prepared for some sort of attack.

As swift as the eye could see, some sort of finned tentacle shot out of the water and grabbed Ekiron.
It pulled him into the maelstrom and sent him circling around in the water, the great power of whatever was causing the movement immediately hitting him as the water surrounded him.
The arm let go of him, and disappeared into the darkness below him. For below him, there was pitch black.

Fear filled Ekiron as he realised he was slowly circling downards towards this darkness.
Up. He had to get up.
Ho turned his gaze upwards, to see that the water's surface was not far above him.
There was a brightly lit room, several platforms to stand on... Safety.

DM: Ekiron will run out of breath in 10 rounds.

OOC: safety? I highly doubt it.

IC: Ekrion regained his calmness and started swimming upwards towards the platforms.

Ekiron reached the surface surprisingly easy, considering his missing arm and the force of the maelstrom.
But as he reached the surface none of the platforms were within his reach. They were too far up from the surface.
As the maelstrom slowly started tugging him downwards into the water again, he noticed three switch-like mechanisms on the room's walls.

Ekrion pondered for a moment, looking up towards the platforms and truing to find some sort of mechanism.

Ekrion once again pulled the lever and this time drew a bolt from his crossbow and stuck it between the mechanism. He repeated the process whit the other levers.

Slowly, the place started rumbling more and more, and a great howl was heard from below.
Slowly, the water rose and the platforms were now within reach.

But below Ekiron the runed doorway leading to the position of the rest of the group slowly started collapsing, and as the first rune broke the water started rushing in with incredible speed.

DM: 2 rounds until the group's position is completely flooded.

Ekrion swam towards one of the platforms and crawled onto it, peering into the water and waiting for his companions to show up.

OOC: I feel lonely. :/

Meyla shivered as the water crawled up her thighs, she kicked herself for not taking wing earlier, her blood had cooled rapidly and her wings now hung limp and useless.
"W-w-we n-n-need t-t-t-to" she pointed towards the temple, outstretched arm shaking uncontrollably. "A-a-nd E-Ekrion, w-w-whe-re is h-he?".

As the runed doorway collapsed completely and the water rushed in, a familiar voice appeared in the minds of the group.
"Hello? What's happening? Your lifestream is getting weaker. Meyla? Leo? Anyone? What's going on?"

Meanwhile Ekiron found himself infront of a huge statue depicting a robed man. The statue was serving as a pillar, holding up the roof's ceiling.
Other statues were placed around the room, all facing the robed man. Several of them were bandaged warriors.
Another runed doorway could be seen nearby.

"Sunrah!" ekrion replied to the familiar voice. "I'm somewhat separated from the others. Guys, just swim up! There are platforms, and another doorway!" he then said

A sliver of warmth entered Meyla's mind, Sunrah... she could have sighed in relief had she any control over herself, but she found her entire body frozen, due to an abnormal susceptibility to the cold water. I'm So cold, water, no way out. I Can't move. Others. Here. Ekrion. Gone.
