1) Make sure you have at least the 1.27 patch installed. The campaign WILL NOT WORK properly without it.
Specifically, Chapter Three will not load at all.
2) Download the Rise of the Blood Elves Intro cinematic and extract into your Warcraft III/Movies folder.
LINK TO THE CINEMATIC FILE
3) Download the campaign and place into your Warcraft III/Campaigns folder, or My Documents/Warcraft 3/Campaigns
if you have the 1.28 patch.
4) Play the campaign!

In a daring campaign against the Scourge in Northrend, Illidan faced off against the death
knight Arthas in an attempt to destroy the Frozen Throne. However, Arthas defeated Illidan and left him
wounded in the snow, allowing Illidan to witness the creation of the new Lich King.

Kael'thas Sunstrider and Lady Vashj, realising their defeat, brought Illidan with them as they fled back to
Outland. Seeing their master's ugly wounds, they decide to bring him back to the Hellfire Citadel so that
he may recover... but, unbeknownst to them, Outland was in a state of a minor civil war.

Soon after that, tensions rise in the blood elven society as the Grand Magistrix Alessandra Katryne
proposes a dangerous idea: reclamation of their homeland, Quel'Thalas.

Techtree Changes
- Arcane Affinity now reduces magic damage by 25% (was 20%).
- Magic Sentry now instead gives Towers the ability to increase nearby friendly units' mana regeneration.

Hawkstrider Knight
- Requires Sanctuary instead of Spire to be trained.
- Cleave now strikes 25% of damage to nearby enemy units (was 12%).

Sorceress
- Can now once again use Polymorph.
- Can no longer use Illusion.

Arcane Golem
- Resistant Skin is now called Prismatic Barrier and also gives Arcane Golems passive health regeneration.

Blood Knight
- Holy Light heals for 250 hit points (from 125).
- Seal of Protection now lasts 30 seconds (from 25).
- Wings of Retribution increases movement speed and attack rate by 40%. Has a new special effect when cast.

Ballista
- Damage buffed.

Phoenix
- No longer has Spell Immunity. Instead, has a new ability, Spell Resistance, which reduces magic damage taken by 50%.
- Now costs 7 food (from 6).

Kael'thas
- Can no longer use Summon Lava Spawn. Instead, can use Summon Al'ar, which summons Al'ar, a powerful phoenix, to fight alongside Kael'thas.

Alessandra
- Has a new voice. (Valeera from Heroes of the Storm)
- Soulburn has been significantly buffed and now drastically increases Alessandra's attack speed.
- Dark Soul's Voidlord is no longer immobile.

Lor'themar
- Has a new model and a new icon.
- Flames of Retribution no longer does friendly fire. Now costs 75 mana (from 85).
- Blood Cry now affects a larger area. Now costs 50 mana (from 90).
- Can no longer use Dashing Winds. Instead, has a new ability, Living Bomb, which adds extra damage on each attack and causes units that die while under the effect to explode, dealing damage to nearby enemy units.

Liadrin
- Has a new model, a new icon and a new voice.
- Desiccation Aura is no longer visually displayed.

Aewynne
- Paralysing Arrow's range is now 800 (was 600).
- Evergreen now costs 50 mana (from 75).
- Marksmanship has been significantly buffed and now drastically increases Aewynne's attack damage.
- Volley of Arrows no longer does friendly fire.

Sylvanas
- Has a new voice.

Kalecgos
- Has a new voice.
- Abilities are now stronger.

- Lowered all units' collision size, which should make it easier to move units around the map and reduce units getting stuck.
- Fixed a bug in Chapter Twelve which could cause the boss fight to begin at the beginning of the map.

- Fixed a bug in Chapter Nine where you could end the map early by just flying around the map with Al'ar.
- Removed the ability Web from Kil'jaeden in Chapter Twelve which could prevent Kalecgos from executing his triggers.

- Increased Kargath's respawn timer in Chapter Ten.
- Added a new gold mine in Chapter Ten.

- Chapter Ten should be a little easier now.
- Lor'themar's Blood Cry has been buffed. It now lasts for 10 seconds and affects a larger area.
- Prophet Velen has a new model.
- Aurora and Vesper are now the collect colour in the Epilogue.

- Hawkstrider Knight now costs less resources, 3 food instead of 4, and does a little bit more damage.
- Phoenix now attacks a little slower, and can no longer increase its attack from the Blacksmith upgrades.

It' really impressive, how this campaign developed.
I played the very first released version of this and already liked it.
However, when I played the Enhanced Edition I was speechless. I really enjoyed playing it and will most likely play it again. I'm always happy to see great campaigns like that.

If you send a unit to the area above the orange base, a goblin hero will give you a quest.

Please dude,u gotta help me...Everytime when the Interlude:Tempest keep finishes...it sent's me to the mission page...I tried loading Mission:Through the Fire myself,but it doesn't work....only a black screen apear....Please help me i wanna play this campaing so badly

You need to download the newest patch for Warcraft 3, like I said in the Known Issues section.

Very good, only on level 3 but had a little problem with it, using mobs to kill the enemy blood elves not counting for the quest just doesn't work for me? I mean, it is one thing to just let it happen without saying anything, but putting it in a tip is just wrong, it goes against the whole idea of the quest. The idea of the mission is to kill the generators with as few casualties as possible, that includes causing the enemies to die from mobs.

Please help me....I found a bug.When i pass the Tempest Keep Interlude the game sent's me back to the mission selection tab,when i select trough the fire...the screen becomes black...please help me i really want to play it

Hey dude, awesome campaign but I get a sound bug with Alessandra and Aewynne, Alessandra has a voice of a hero from other custom campaign, and Aewynne has a voice of Thrall. Is there a solution to this?

i had to dl this for another device. and the cheats arent working so i can skip to the mission i was on

edit:
map reveal and god mode are working so ill go with that.

also i forgot what mission it is. but the map with the neutral orc tribes, it won't let you interact with them.

great fucking campaign. i think i like this more than curse of the forsaken. well done on the design of the last mission. i probably restarted 3 times because i completely forgot about the unit that win it.

I'm not ure if im the only one with this issue, and I don't want you guys to think im complaining cuz i'm not (or maybe just a little haha). I've been playing this campaign for like a week and currently am at chapter 6 and there's some things that i've found pretty annoying during some chapters:

Chapter 1: no problem
Chapter 2: I don't understand the purpose of the "ally" yourself to orcs, I lost like 3 times because i couldn't ally myself with the yellow clan, which was extremly annoying as an enemy, so at the end I only ally myself with the green one (which btw was defeated by the rebels in a second lol) and I ignored the rest of the clan's, that was the only way I could finish
Chapter 3: I thought it was really fun until the main quest keep changing -.- defeating everyone in the city wasn't that hard but then when I had to resist the attacks for like 10 min, it was impossible to me, especially considering the fact that I had no resources! there's just not enough coins in the map to create an army that can resist the attack of the blood elves for 10 minutes... I'm ashamed to admit that I had to cheat to complete this chapter :(
Chapter 4: annoying, but funny lol
Chapter 5: in this chapter, i almost quit playing this campaign u.u resist the attacks for 30 min? no problem, it was hard but I could do it... then I had to defeat the undead army... ok, no problem either IF i had the resources! once again i thought it was impossible to defeat 3 armys (which are pretty hard tbh) with the limited amount of resources available, like only one gold mine available while others are hidden inside enemy's base (with a very tough defense). With that gold coming from the only gold mine available you have to: resist the attacks for 30 min. and then resist the attaks from 3 different enemy's camp (which btw attack like every minute -.-) while trying to make an army to defeat one of those enemy's camp. Once again it was impossible for me and I had to cheat again u.u but only to defeat one camp, after getting that gold mine it was doable for me.

So as a conclusion, I think that maybe you could make more resources for some chapters, or making the enemy a bit less powerful (I play at normal mode) but other than that, I'm completly in love with the storyline and with the design of the maps, so thanks for making this campaign, great job! ... I hope I can finish it lol

Wait till you get on some other campaigns, like that campaign where you need to def 2 bases for 2 hours, and or that one where you need to kill Al'ar, and if you attack right base first you gonna need to re-play it. But I admit, enemies attack too frequently, and in every "defend the base" map, you start whit really low amount of resources, and from very beginning. ( when I say where beginning, I mean whit only main house lvl1, primary troop building and few tower and units...)...

Yeah, saddly I already quit.

The chapter where you have to defend Silverymoon from the undead was insane, all of your buildings from the very begginning (which makes no sense, cuz you should have a good base from the begging considering the fact that you won in the previous chapter), attacks from the enemy every minute and a lot of necromancer + their skeletons, it was impossible to build a defense that tough... the weird thing was that I was defeated but i didn't lost :s must've been a bug...

Anyway, the chapter where i quit was the one you talk about, the one where you have to kill Al'ar. My strategy to defeat enemies at warcraft has always been destroying their main buildings and then the rest of the army, in this campaign you can't do that because you destroy a building, and they build it again so basically you have to send your whole army (100/100 food) to destroy a base, but here you can't do that because once again you have two diferent bases attacking you, so if you send your army to destroy a base, your main one is destroyed. Seriously wtf is wrong with the enemies attaking every single minute? I mean for example, I sent my army to the green base inmediatley after they attack my base, and when im getting there, they are already sending another army to attack me! is just so effing annoying and the problem is not about the resources anymore, is just about difficulty. I consider myself as a good player, but again, this is quest is just impossible to make unless you cheat (I would love to know if someone here had success in this campaign without any cheating), and i don't like cheating so i prefer to quit, which is a shame because i loved the storyline, the Heroes and the blood elves units! :(

I hope one day you make a more easy version of this campaign

Yeah, saddly I already quit.

The chapter where you have to defend Silverymoon from the undead was insane, all of your buildings from the very begginning (which makes no sense, cuz you should have a good base from the begging considering the fact that you won in the previous chapter), attacks from the enemy every minute and a lot of necromancer + their skeletons, it was impossible to build a defense that tough... the weird thing was that I was defeated but i didn't lost :s must've been a bug...

Anyway, the chapter where i quit was the one you talk about, the one where you have to kill Al'ar. My strategy to defeat enemies at warcraft has always been destroying their main buildings and then the rest of the army, in this campaign you can't do that because you destroy a building, and they build it again so basically you have to send your whole army (100/100 food) to destroy a base, but here you can't do that because once again you have two diferent bases attacking you, so if you send your army to destroy a base, your main one is destroyed. Seriously wtf is wrong with the enemies attaking every single minute? are you talking about mission 8:war on silvermoon where you control both a blood elf and forsaken base?

for that one i just let the 'forward' base with the expansions die. i moved everything from that base over to the forsaken base, including the elf units, then kept my heros on the elf side. from here the forsaken base it easily the weaker of the two so i made sure i had a good 5 towers on the east entrance. other thing i did was make about 12 ghouls on wood so you can clear it out and have a large supply for units/upgrades and when you need to fight bring them to the front. other than that its just about micro. try to guess when the attack is coming and keep some units (probably aboms/gargs) to take the necros out before they even get in position then just fall back.


@tomo i left a comment a couple weeks ago on your main page asking about a certain blood elf track. i went through the entire credits and couldnt find it, are there any uncredited tracks?

wow , nice campaign . . . i always wanted to play the continuation story of warcraft and i never found a good campaign story of warcraft to be played.

i am new in here so i can't rate it yet.. but if i can rate it , i will rate it 5/5.

Well , i don't agree that is hard at all , we know that it's hard but the chapter 10 was the most easy for me , i just put in defense of the base one dragonhawk knight , two blood knights , two rangers and one priest and with that they resist , the towers i puted were three two guards and one canon the rest of the troops i send to the green base because the phoenix are really disturb xD

Maybe this was asked before but.. how the hell do you finish chapter 11: Fury of the Sunwell? Constant heavy attacks from yellow and violet side, not to mention that legion joins in in 10-15 minutes so you're pretty much under constant attack. I simply got overwhelmed and towers are hard to defend because of the annoying phoenix attacks (the terrain of your base is very unsuitable for defense).

Do you amass an army early on with no upgrades and pwn yellow first or what? I had no real trouble defeating all previous chapters so the difficulty here really caught me by surprise.


Other than that fantastic campaign, might do a video review on it.

edit: Ok I figured it out.. Phoenix unit is so OP that you can just mass them and demolish everything

Draenei ally is still bugged tho.. they stopped building after a minute and got killed

I am pretty sure you can only play custom campaigns in Frozen Throne, so you will need Frozen Throne expansion to play it. Also I suggest downloading the newest patch, because the map may use features not available on certain versions of the game(Newest patch is 1.26a)

Selecting any Blood Elf unit at the beginning of the first mission in any way causes the game to freeze.

I see you also posted in the CotF thread, none of those things should happen. Are you by any chance using a non-patched Warcraft 3? Make sure it's patched to the last patch. Or, perhaps you might be using Mac, some people have already reported my campaigns don't work properly on Mac.

Yeah I'm on a Mac, I was hoping that was unrelated but sadly, Mac and WC3 stopped supporting each other a few years ago.

Gotta thank you for the quick reply, though, it pleases me greatly to see an author who keeps such a close eye on their work and the feedback it generates. :)

Thank you, and yeah, it's unfortunate that Warcraft 3 won't work properly on Mac, and considering I don't own a Mac, I don't know how or even if my campaigns could be fixed to work properly on it.

Just began this campaign today, and I love it already XD

Chapter 3 is a brainteaser, though; you really gotta maximize the use of your heroes' skills to survive with your limited funds.

The only complaint I might have is that Chapter 2 is a bit Naga-centric. With the limit to the tech tree in that chapter the Blood Elves feel really weak compared to the Fel Orcs, or maybe I'm just not quite good enough at micro-managing my units? XD

I just feels Chapter 2 would be really hard without the Naga.

I have to say, I love the voiceovers on the Ranger and Battlemage Heroes, very nice work to whoever did those :)

Chapter 4's very nice, VERY big XD I do have one minor quibble; it's a little too easy to just completely shut down the Green and Purple Undead's attacks just by building a lot of towers at your entrances. Because they both use the golems in place of meat wagons (and the golems are just destroyed by Arcane Towers) they don't have any real answer for your towering up.

Was that what you had in mind? I know for sure the mission would have been a LOT harder if I had needed to leave half my army to defend the main base, considering how close it is to Green's base.

Just hit the caverns and, damn, best-designed Warcraft 3 map I've ever seen. And that includes official ones.

Blizzard should hire you to design scenarios if they ever decide to go back to RTS with Warcraft.
