In case anyone is curious how to in XP, you simply right click the desktop, go 'Arrange Icons By', 'Show Icons'. This also works for Windows 7, and I would assume Vista as well.

Sure, but this will hide all icons when unchecked.

I knew you could do it through modification of Windows or registry like that, but it's a hassle, and actually deletes it.

Nah, dwm would just be the name of my window manager on Linux, and it stands for dynamic window manager. Also, my laptop dual boots Windows and Arch Linux, and that desktop would be from Arch.

Ahh, not as exciting as I thought. I've still never used Linux on any of my own computers, although I've always been tempted if for nothing else, the fact that you can actually get different desktops without a lot of hassle.
