You'd be surprised, a lot of older people (mid teens to mid 20's) still play it.

They're just not as public about it as little kids are.

During a bus trip to a play 3 hours away, we took out a link cable (We all have GBA versions) and started to fight away. Heck, one of my friends even has a bunch of t-shirt's he wears. I don't try to hide that I play it, and I'm still very popular among my classmates.
