Heres the original one...
I could use some revising though, as it is rather old now...
"I am not sure if I placed this in the right forum to start with.
But hey, here goes.
Many people say that a women getting an abortion is unmoral, unjust, and is murder, I myself half agree on this, it is not the best thing to do, because the women getting abortions put themselves in that situation(most of the time.) But, when you take into account the rights of personal freedom, it should be left up to the person getting it.
There can also be an element of scientific logic put into play on this topic.
When a fetus is still maturing, most of it's vital functions, are controlled by the base of the brain, the stem, and by the time most abortions are done, the rest of the brain is still developing, and most of the vital functions are still developing. At that point, they are literally just a mindless batch of stem cells and undeveloped tissue.
Though I agree that the method for getting an abortion could be much, well, less disgraceful, I mean tearing the fetus apart, when it could be just as easily removed fully intact, is way on the side of unmoral in my opinion.
Now for a short comment on some of the points people will make about abortion.
Abortion is murder: Abortion is not murder, and if you believe so, then would you want to put everyone who has ever gotten one into jail?
Having the baby is the best thing to do, it will mature the mother mentally: This isn't a highly used one but it is viable to branch out into an entire debate, which I will quickly sum up.
1: Quite allot of the people getting abortions are teenagers, and that has been the same for the last 50-70 years, at least in the case of America. As we all know, in America, a 16 year old girl having a child is a bad thing, because highschool ends at age 18(normally, depending on the age you started.) And this can mean a the mother will have to drop out of school, if she cannot manage, and in most cases, the father will have no commitment to the new baby he helped bring about.
Or it could just end up with a child put up for adoption, never knowing their real parents and having a good likely hood of just being tossed from household to household, town to town, city to city for a good majority of their adolescent years, or even ranging into their teenage years.
I guess to sum it up, I do not believe abortion is totally right, but, in most western countries, and in fact, most countries in the world now, give that freedom of choice, and have a very loose grip on the freedom of choice, to spite what most bias American media states about America being the free-est place on Earth.
So, personal freedom, and a self brought on guilt, over a bunch of people yelling "baby killer" and doing nothing more then making the situation worse for the mothers, by ridiculing them for their action, which was their own damn choice, and involved no-one else, and these people who call them baby killers would most likely get an abortion in that situation to. Which brings about the topic of being Hippocratic.
I guess to sum it up again.
An abortion is a personal choice, if you are going to be part of the group, mostly confined to the US, and the UK, who call people baby killers, then be my guest, but remember, technically, you are trying to pull away a personal freedom, and that you have no been in that situation before, and when a person gets an abortion, it, in no way, hurts you.
Just like when someone says something you don't like on TV, if you get offended, thats fine! But you don't have to sit there and watch it for 30 minutes and then make a complaint, nobody is forcing you to watch it, and if you don't, then guess what, it doesn't effect you, same principle. Bud out of other peoples personal lives, and don't try to sue a network because you don't like someone, the relation is sueing/complaining is the equal of butting into someones personal situation, they did it because they have the right to, I can go on tv right now, and show 6/7's of my buttock to American veiwers, ya someone might get offended, but I hold full rights to do so, as long as I don't add the other seventh.
BLARRG.
You should all get the point by now? I could more easily express this if it sparked a full on debate. Which believe me, would just end inside of one side stating the same thing over and over, and the other side doing the same."
