This is the long awaited sequel to Mathias Chronicles - The Pursuit, now updated to 1.05!
Based on Savage Potato's Mathias Part II released way back in 2007, this is a complete
remake by me, Med. MapGuy and now includes voice acting!

This campaign features fully redone terrain, cutscenes, models and music, and reworked story
elements to fully immerse YOU into the world of Mathias, the true king of Lordaeron!

  • Changed effects of Precious Talisman.
  • Unchecked "Actively Used" item that was accidentally added for Gem of Greater Strength.

  • Corrected Eridu quest name to "Uncomfortable Truths".

  • Re-enabled Ogre Maulers to be purchased in Chapter 11.
  • Slaying Ushgar now completes the optional objective.
  • Fixed an issue in the opening of Chapter Fifteen where the models bug out and act all weird.

September 25, 2021 Update (Version 1.04)
  • Added new "hints" on early levels, such as telling the player he can enter a cave, to not let Granthar enter the Ogre camp early, etc.
  • Fixed all the chapter title numbers to align with the first Mathias Chronicles.
  • Improved visibility in the early levels. Units can see their environments better.
  • Added a handful of units to be rescued in "A Matter of Faith" and "Fall from Grace".
  • Removed two dreadlords in the level "In Harm's Way".

  • Fixed issue in “A Matter of Faith” where after rescuing Ogre Mauler and Ogre Magi, the Ogre Mauler doesn’t join the player and still has a spider web attached onto him
  • Warlock's default spell level is now set to "Master", given the fact this unit has all three spells researched
  • Fixed issue where Kel’thuzad boss now summons minions correctly and can’t be killed immediately if cheats are enabled
  • The Warlock’s attack type is now correctly set to “Magic” from "Piercing". Its armor has also changed from "Unarmored" from “Heavy”

Thought I would add some notes I wrote down from when I played this campaign:





Ch8
I was really worried there at the start that I did something wrong when I "failed" the mission so fast.
Normally it's better to have a few seconds after mission failing to go into cinematic in my opinion, instead of rushing straight in.
Very cool random Frost Wyrms flying by.
Grunts in the death pit we start in after losing the first main quest are not invulnerable, but other dead units we find are.
Ogre mauler doesn't join us, but magi does. The magi was blocked in by the mauler, so I needed to kill him to let magi out.
Bloodlust used on Gthath (from the Ogre magi) does not have the special effect it does on other units.
Random skeleton warriors were raised after I killed the 2nd set of wolves, but they were not even hostile to me, and I don't not know how they were raised.
Were those 3 wolves that were moving slowly chasing the rabbit? Very cool.
The 2 Ogre Magis we have different icons for bloodlust.
The side quest should say if it's for next mission or not (my opinion so we know why we are collecting gold).



Ch9
Why can't we reach the Undead in the south? There should at least have been a message saying we can't go there, because I kept trying to approach from all angles. (I know understand why they can't be reached after playing the mission, but it was confusing seeing them there at the start).
Thanks for the tip about not bringing the Ogre hero back to the camp right away.
The 2nd main quest says Goblins must survive, but he left right as we found the Nezzak camp.
Would be nice if locations of the 3 UD warriors for the side quest were pinged on the map.
Grathar not invulnerable after leaving us when his quest completed.


Ch10
When the offering quest is completed, it says main quest completed, but it's a side quest.
The offering building is still pinged regularly even after quest is done.
The Demon forces in the southeast and west stand there, I can attack them without them fighting back.

Ch11
f9 says 30 refuges must survive, but the quest seems to trigger at 20 (and message says 20).
Gryphon Riders have the cloud spell but no way to research it in the Gryphon aviary building.
These peasants have no build animation, so they just stand there as the buildings are being built.
The pass was held until the time limit, but no reinforcements showed up.
Since no1 showed up, I just attacked the purple base and barely took down the leader.
When the final cinematics happened, it showed the dead bodies of my heroes since they died in the final fight but were not resurrected for the cinematics. So, only Malakai and the human hero who came with him were alive in the cinematic.

Ch12
Nice, we get all the items we collected onto the human heroes now from the Orc heroes.
For the demon side quest, it would have been nice if it caused a constant attack wave of demons out of our control attacking the Orc bases, with us having vision of them attacking constantly.

Ch13+14
Wc3 chess style gameplay. Very cool.


Ch15
Necromancer mission.

Finale
The crown of bones is very cool. I like how Mathias is coming into conflict with Jaina for her support towards the Old Paladin guy claiming the crown.


General points
Would have preferred more RTS missions without the enemy just having triggers to send units, but that did not detract from how much fun the campaign was. The story was very engaging, and a lot of effort was put into this. Thanks for sharing this campaign.

You can play the latest version of this game without even owning the Reforged, but you only get the Classic contents.
Also, it seems that the original author of this campaign didn't update to make it compatible with the latest version (1.36). I think the last update of this campaign was almost 3 years (October 2021):

  • The Great Hall building can no longer be upgraded to Stronghold in “Rutgar's Choice”
  • Dire Troll Pyromaniac now has a proper spell to cast
  • After reviving all heroes, Rutgar is now vulnerable after the player regains control of him
  • Goblin Laboratory in the end of “Rutgar's Choice” no longer has units you can purchase

mathias q ability 'soul blast' is bugged i dont know if u fixed it last patch only works on air units also nezatch has a probleme with his cache it doesen't transfer from the mission where we defend against the demons to the big battle mission we lose all tomes items and xp the ,first mission i had the skeletons spawn at the start before the end event so they would be neutral that's all i can remmember for now looking forward to next one
