Scaled him up (140%), two skins, no more scimitar.blp, fixed hand clipping through leg.

Oh, that sucks to tell the least. They looked pretty fine for me in WE when scaled to about 1.20-1.30. To scale the models themselves though, I'll have to resize geometry first, then move the bones to fit the model properly second, and rewrite such things as blood effects, and repeat all of this five times at least. Is it worth the time?

His attack animations are a bit clumsier than I'd like but considering the size of his weapon they make sense and they also add character.
