Worked some more on the left shoulder. It's still not done. The wrap is meh on some parts. I'll fix it.

There's not much to it - I place the basic keyframes which give me the rough shape of the animation. For example, basic keyframes for an attack could be a standing frame, a frame where the model prepares to swing, a frame where the swing is done, and the final frame which is actually the first frame, and when you play it, the animation is a pretty rough swinging animation. Then I add more movement in-between frames and tweak the timing by copying and pasting keyframes and deleting the old. For more natural animations, you should try to do them in front of a mirror.

That's probably the best way to do it [well, there's motion-capture-suit-things...]

Why niko bellic? Its not like GTA is known for their incredible detail and quality 3d (then again i stopped after San Andreas, it started getting a bit silly), why not mention something that is mega like a halo monster or something? And its a completely different engine with a different purpose and creation. To compare the two is a bit narrow minded in my opinion.

wow a lich king that ACTUALLY LOOKS LIKE LICH KING!!!

this beats general frank own by far, his own looked awful no offense, basically felt like Admiral Proud-more with a different costume.

totally epic.. might i suggest some blue eyes? he mustttttttttt have that to be called "the lich king" :p

Sexy death animation :D
would be nice if you added a cinematic animation in wich he falls to his knees but stops his fall to the ground by shoving his sword into the ground and holds his balance against it and then another animation where he regains his strenght again and stands up on his feet again :)

Would be nice if you had him in a boss battle and this happens when you think you've just beaten him but you just enter the second phase where he is more powerful :) just a tip.

I like your project, rep for you before i forget it mate

I have to say though, even without this or my WoW model, I would use Meteor_Daemon's model. It looks much more buff. But back to the topic. This is epic. The only differences I see from this and the WoW one is shinyness and pits of detail (like making the model bump up in some places like the skull on the shoulder, when you just did a texture, which is equally as good imo) + This one somehow fits Warcraft III. This owns General Frank's model is so many ways I can't even imagine. Including downloads. This got more downloads before it got uploaded. Know how?I MADE A TIME MACHINE AND DOWNLOADED THIS 2000 TIMES.

EDIT: Sorry to GF, I didn't mean to state that in a rude way... now that I read over it... lol... It's a good model, but It has a lot that could be fixed with it. And to dentothor's reply
there's already modeling tutorials on the hive, why make a new one

there are modeling tutorials, but if you're someone like me you have troubles with tutorials unless each and every step is EXACT and you have to ask questions of the tutorial maker to get it.

EDIT2: Btw, when this is done will you be making a quick version of him before he becomes lich king? Just by removing the helmet and the eye glow?

I think so. I'll simply glue Arthas' head from WC3 with a couple of modifications.

Btw, I thought it was illegal to talk about those WoW things here?

Unless you give out links to download WoW's files and resources (except icons), no.

Unless the moderators are communist, you can talk about whatever you want. You just can't DO whatever you want.
And I use wow models in my maps, and they usually range 500-700 file size. It's not like you couldn't have a couple of them without it being full.

Dude....this is amazing. And just in time too, I'm making a map based on the Death knight starting area in WoW, and I need a GOOD Lich King model.


Also, good idea making a helmless version too. I never really liked the fact that arthas is mounted on a horse in Wc3. I could just imagine how useful it'd be to some people.

Woo, an update after a longer while!

Excuse the missing textures - I don't have WC3 installed at the moment.

I'm planning on hiding that Frostmourne during Death and add another free jointed for an easier dropping animation.

Wrong, wrong, wrong. He must explode upon death, then Bolvar Fordragon must approach him, take his removed helmet, and place it on his head.

This is spectacular. The texture (in terms of contrast and saturation, etc, etc) is fantastic. I imagine it will work well in-game. Can't wait to see this finished. Don't let me down!
