I really like SRPGs, and this seems to get promising for me. Also nice terrain-sreenshots, gj.

How is the current progress? Would lke to see some more ;) ... but please work hard on the story of it, I really don't like it if a RPG has good systems and all but the story is just to go from A to B and kill 5 wolves.
(some quests where you have to use your brain would be cool ;D)

+rep for support

Terrains are being remade by terrainers by now so you can notice that there is not much progress happening. Thanks for your honest feedback, I also felt its not good yet in someways.

Thank god. I was going trough the screenshots and some of the details were like dagger in my eye. For example as the sand was below the sand, you seriously say that the road was built on the sand. Also the trees does not fit the environment and they are way too bunched. As the trees start nothing else is there anymore.

Poll Voted ! Highly Recommended :3 ! I'll going to support this project mate ! Good Job and more Updates to come I hope :) !

Been so long and I have Felipe Gormadoc for my terrainer and much thanks to him, you should thank him for the terrain. So as of today, I am here to show all of you some terrain remake of the first place of the map which is the Forest of the Magical Goddess. It is not finished yet so dont think of it as near perfection or great but you may do so if you really think of it as great even in its early Wip state.

And again, Credits and Special Thanks to: Felipe Gormadoc

Hey bro, looks great - a significant terrain improvement!

I hope, you do not overload yourself with the size of your project. What I mean is, some projects which are too ambititous never ever get finished, or, they are soo big that not all aspects can be taken care of with highest possible attention. What I mean is: you can also start with a smaller map and story, and extend it later if everything is perfect. But this ist just something you should keep in mind. If you just want to take all the time you need, thats ok too of course. Good luck! :)

Actually its the reverse that it will not fit for a 256x256 map because I can foresee that there will be more places and dungeons in-game but I just planned to extend it when time calls for it.

@Wrathion
I see then, thanks for the feedback. I might improve it myself and remove the overcrowdness of the terrain.

EDIT: 4k POSTS! xD

Maybe you missed my point. Exactly such kind of ambitions are what I think can be dangerous for a maps success. But allright, I believe in your motivation and I'll check back in a few months too check your progress. :) Edit: You can also send me an updated version when it's time for some playtesting and straightforwared feedback.

Nope I didnt quite missed the point and I understand you though what I felt when working on this map is the exact opposite of what you said on overloading with the size but instead the size is not enough still to finish the game.

But you are also right that a big ambition is what can crush a map, that is why this project is inactive for months because of this same reason.

Great Work!

I love the game, and I am so looking forward for the completed game. I am also waiting for the Last Stand Remake, sure it is gonna be wonderful!

Thanks for the feedback, will be sure to finish this and release the 2nd Alpha release though can't say a date.

By the way, Felipe had gave me the map for me to continue some parts of the Forest remake terrain, expect some batch of screenshots maybe this week. The project resumes!

From the first time I played this map I loved it but something was always missing. Now thanks to new terrain it looking better and better. The only thing I have a problem here is, don't take it as a negative comment, the story is to simple and I hope there will be a little twist to the story cause right now there is nothing intresting in the story. Good luck with your project though. :)

No problem with that, I'll probably make the story more interesting just as you said. Thank you for the helpful idea and for the feedback.

I am really thankful for your honesty on telling what bugs you out, it gives me some ideas on what to improve!

First batch of terrain remake of the Forest of the Magical Goddess here. I am completly out of idea on what to put on the rough dirt tiles, if someone could give some ideas I would be grateful.

By the way, about the old terrain screenshots posted on the introduction thread... they have been removed (all of them) and can only be viewed through my album which is here:. It is to give way to the new terrain screenshot and for the viewers to notice.

The terrain looks much better than before, however;
-Left Picture: the rocks and the tile you using to act as a cliff face do not match well. This is me extremely nip picking, so it isn't a major issue just a slight deterant. To match them match either use a new tile or rock.
- Right Picture: looks a little bland and lacks some tiling. I would suggest add on some environmental doodads since I think this may be a boss area by the looks, so they don't get in the way
-Overall: make sure you add animals to give it a more lively feel to the forest

Can you suggest some possible specific replacements for the rock tiles and for the rocks doodads, I do think they fit... I do not see why they are not fitting but also some suggestion specific replacement for it is appreciated.

Reps for the short but helpful feedback including also SonofJay and Wrathion!

lookin' good, and this is my thinking
-Left Picture
+I think the cliff is quite high. Better than make it lower a bit
+Rock on the way to house look not fit. Also add some flowers or smt on the way to make it colorful :3
-Right Picture
+If that's where boss stay, so i have nothing to ask. But if not, it will need more tree
+Meh, the grass. The other is green, but why have brown grass?
+I see some... uhmm, smt on the ground. It's different from the other

More noticable trees maybe?
And some colors, like flowers
And dunno if it is only from the point of view but the road looks odd
Other than that, the first SS looks awesome
And the second.. Is well empty xD

Noticeable Trees? There are much trees in-game and at the editor already into the terrain.

Flowers, will do. I also felt it lacks those things.

About the road, can you be more specific on why it is odd? It would help if you can suggest a specific change for it also... on what specific tile should I replace it to.

Thanks for the feedback!

+About how high the cliffs, I do think it really just looks fine.
+Will do on removing the rocks and adding more flowers.
+I have already filled the area with logs and more doodads so it does not feel quite empty now and also if I will fill it with tree, it looks out of place and blocks player's view in-game.
+I might consider changing them but are you sure it really does not fit?
+What is it? Can you be more specific on what is that "something" at the ground? I find nothing wrong with it.

Those are great suggestions and feedbacks but I feel there are some things that are mentioned that should just stayed so don't think of it that I always deny suggestions being given. Reps to you I_am_Death and Jad!

yup, i dont like the brown grass so much. And the smt on the ground, look like... other grass type, it make me feel not so smooth

Here are the two same screenshot with a little improvements. Kind of been busy right now. Added some more grasses though not much on the open areas, stumps and wooden log doodads, flower doodads and some animals for a livelier feeling though they wouldn't be much noticeable at Boss Areas such as the area with the fountain because it is meant to be a Boss Area for the Enraged Ursa Warrior.

By the way, guys... can anyone link me a good replacement for the grass that is brown? I would appreciate it!

I might expand the forest now and show different parts after I finish terraining them so be patient.

This grass is wonderful. You can change its color in object editor to fit desert, winter or jungle or plains... everything you want. I recommend it. And it is animated which is also nice.

- Don't forget to ask me if you need help with something. =)

Thank you very much then. I should be using this now, it only does not fit but it is also animated which is an extra.

Thank you again and reps to you for the help.

And for something to say to all of you, I am right now busy on my studies for my exam next week so I do not assure you all I can give daily updates of the terrain or even touch it but it will not be abandoned so no worries.

Finally, here is a new screenshot (sadly only one for I have been very busy to even make a stable progress but tomorrow I just might make a stable progress) showing a new part of the Fores of the Magical Goddess and most likely the creep area.

The extension of this area is not yet finish and has no decoration so updates will come tomorrow.

By the way, credits/Special Thanks to the new grass that Remixer gave me and including him for the Credits and Special Thanks. Without this resource, the terrain wouldn't be much better.

The terrain you are showing now looks much nicer than before and I'm glad you are going back and upgrading it. It looks much more alive now, and atmospheric.

Some notes to remember, use the raise and lower while I have seen you use it, in the new picture it looks flat (may be from the angle not sure). So just a little raise here and there, not massive cliffs :)

Edit: scratch the animal part just saw you had them

Thanks and for the raise/lower, I made it intentionally that for now it is flat so when I finished the whole forest terrain, I'll just be doing the raising/lowering in one so no worries if it's flat for now because the terrain will never be always flat.
