I wonder if it is a priority to fix or reject some the older faulty models on the hive that wouldn't even fit the standards of less quality-controlled sites.

I am not talking about the simply bad ones, I am talking about the ones that don't work or have some files missing like this one.

I tried reporting but it said that it is only meant for harassment and spam so I couldn't do it. It annoys me very much that the same site that has quite rigorous standards for new models allows broken models to exist :ogre_rage:

The DemonWitch model zip provides no readme ? I downloaded it recently and I got no readme when I opened the zip.

EDIT: Tried again, no readme. It is very annoying if Hive is backing up (?) in the same moment...

What about all the skins and models without correct / any path ? Especially old skins don't have a path within the resource thread, makes it hard for newbies to use them.

Uhm, what do you think about making this thread sticky and change it to 'Faulty Resources' ?
Or does a thread of this kind already exist ?

Uhm, I gave you the link to the resource, but, sounding lazy, too, isn't it a less effort to just type in the corresponding base skin in the resource section and look for a skin with right path and CnP the path and replace information ? Just an effort of seconds, isn't it ? :)

Of course, it would make your life easier, but it seems double work to me in case I'd do it as you would have to CnP them either.

uh-oh.. that sounds like a geomerge to a helper object.. fixing that is kinda fiddly..

the offending geoset needst to be taken out, model converted and mdl opened with notepad, replacing all 'Helper' words with 'Bone' (the it needs to be exited and saved on prompt, so it works) then the quiver mesh needs to be added on the re-converted mdx (probably works best with a copy-paste function in mdlvis, which lets you copy a mesh, open a completely different model and paste the new mesh in.) then it's just rigging it, making it a separate geoset and saving. the rest of the texture/material adjustments can be done in model editor

It seems that unintentionally both Ardenian and i have begun from the very end of the skins section, going in a reverse direction, so the list i give may contain duplicate entries.
When thats the case simply skip until you see something new.

Oh, I am sorry, I thought it was the right path, looked it up in the viewer as well..
Got it wrong, didn't take a close look..

I also skipped one skin called 'Altar of the Dead' or similar, didn't know what altar it is referring to and didn't look it up.
I will when I continue the pathing.

Perhaps tag them in the database? "This model has been confirmed to work properly and doesn't appear to be missing anything"
Alternatively, it would be nice if some things, such as attachment points, were checked by resource mods.
Whether a model lacks attachments could even be tested automatically. (Resource reviewer tools, anyone?)

Wow thanks guys for taking the initiative and polishing up the hive :D I remember those times I had to search for other skins to get a path because the skin I was downloading didn't have one written >.<

Also I found a model which walks the path of mathog and has neither a decay nor a dissipate animation. Does this lack of animation count as faulty? None of the commenters seem to care about it.

The Path must contain a SINGLE path.

The Replacement must be a single object. If the replacement is custom, insert "Custom Model".

If there are multiple replacements, add that to the "Additional description" which will be appended to the description but only if it isn't already in the description.

Add your name to the Credit username when you have filled out one.

Also, the rules have changed. You will not gain 4000 rep if you fix all the skins. You will get 400.

EDIT: I am bad at counting. There are 622 textures, not 4000. Okay, so instead of 400 rep, it's 100 rep out for grabs!

You mean 'Resource is not available' ? It was considered, I think ( because they were not sort before, they were sorted manually)
