Epidemic
An Epic Starcraft II Infection Game
Coming later this year when SC2 Comes out

The Epidemic Team

The Epidemic Team
I am currently recruiting members for my team. Let's start with the basics.

What is our mission?: To create the leading SC2 game, that will be seen
frequently on the custom games list. One that is fun, unique, and has a
team that is dedicated to making it the best. For all of your die-hard dota
haters out there, whether you hate the game or hate that it rapes the
custom game list in warcraft 3, there's only one way you can stop it
from taking over starcraft 2. This is to create a game that is quality work
and get a fanbase behind it before Icefrog tries to make DotA in starcraft2.
DotA is not the reason i am creating this team, the reason this team is being
created is so that we can be the first people to create a fun and quality
custom game in starcraft 2, if you're interested keep reading.

Who can join the team?: Right now these are the positions that
need filling and will be removed once filled:

  • Suggestors:
Your role: Suggest as many ideas as you possibly can, make the game as
great as you can think before we have acually started on it, we need as
many of you as we can get. If you have a unique way of thinking and a
good imagination or just want to help this spot is for you. If you are interested
in one of the art positions but dont meet the requirements let me know and
we might be able to work something out, i always respect people that want
    to learn.
  • Modeller:
I am currently in this position but i need one more
Your role: Be able to create high quality 3d models that are on par with
starcraft 2 art, texture experience appriciated, previous work samples required.
  • Texture Artist:
I am currently attempting this position but need one more
Your Role: Be able to create high quality textures that are on
par with starcraft 2 art, normal map experience appriciated, previous work
    samples required.
  • Icon Artist:
Your Role: Create quality icons for the project that resembler starcraft
2 icons and are interchangable without noticing the difference, previous
    work samples required.
  • Programmer: Must have some previous experience with working
in the C programming language and be dedicated to learning the scum
language when starcraft 2 is released.
  • Testers:
Your Role: Players that are willing to test the game and its sections
over and over to work out any kinks
  • Hosts:
Your Role: The awesome players that will host games to get this
    game noticed!
  • Concept Artists:
Your Role: Concept artist: Create 2d concepts of the guns/scenery objects that should be used
in the game to give me reference when i create the models.
  • Terrain Concepts:
Your Role: Terrain Concepts: We need somone to start creating sketches/ideas/all they can think
of for the terrain of the game. We need 2D overhead views of their treck for 28 days.
This is a very respectable position and will lead to the final terrain designed by me, if
you take this position you will be working closely with me to try to get it correct, a
special position. If you think you have what it takes to think of ideas for the terrain,
houses and what items they have in them, all of the little details that will make the map
what it should be then let me know and we can sign you up.
If you want to help create the leading game on the starcraft 2 custom
games list, then you deserve a spot on the team, just post with your
info etc.

The Story:
In the year 2010, the flu virus has been
manifesting as usual, a different strain every year what else is new? Every year the flu
changes itself, and this has been
the deal for a long time. Or so it was.
As scheduled, the vaccine for the new flu was found. However, unknown to us
the vaccine had been contaminated on its way to the United States.
And thus a new virus was born.Within a day it crossed species and infected
most if not all the animals and humans on the planet.
It seemed that after 24 hours nearly everyone was infected, nearly
everyone. You and several other people in your town were able to stay uninfected, as your town was no where near any cities, where the virus struck. But that is over, the zombies can smell flesh, and your secluded town won't remain secluded for long.
There is more bad news,
the virus has a relatively long lifespan for those it infects and is airborne. The suspected degeneration of the virus is around half a year.
Your best bet is to wait 28 days for the USMC who said they would activate a rescue squad to your position.

Your mission: Survive the long 28 days and nights defending your
GPS unit so the support can get you out of there. Can you survive? Will you
live to tell the tale of how almost all civilization on the earth was eradicated?
We'll see...

Game Mechanics:
The game starts out with everyone barricaded in a general store, everyone
is a survivor at first. Take your time in the general store, buying what you
need for the first night, such as weapons, equipment, food, medicine, etc.
When everyones ready, red can start the game, after this point you are playing
for all 28 days, so make sure your ready.
One red starts the game you are teleported to one of the many bases located
around the map. You have about a minute to setup defenses before the first night.
Your mission is to survive 28 days in this base, you will loose if you all die or your
GPS is destroyed. The GPS is located in the farthest part back in your base, therefore
you must defend it. During the day you can send search and scavenge parties into the city
for find items and rescue survivors. Keep in mind that there are still zombies in the daytime!
They are considerably easier that the ones at night so stay together and keep some members
in the base at all times to defend it, and if you are not back by sun down its most likely game over.
Here are some screenshots of what the primary tileset in the game will look like:

Terrain_example1.JPG Terrain_example2.JPG Terrain_example3.JPG Terrain_example4.JPG

These are not acual screenshots of Epidemic, these are
just reference screenshots to give you an idea of the tileset when the
game will be developed.

The Flamethrower Track:
The Flamethrower Track:
The Flamethrower Track:
So you want to burn some zombies? well your reading
the right section. The flamethrower track starts out with hairspray and a match, im sure you've tried
this before. Flamethrowers are weak in the beginning but are incredibally effective against swarms later
in the game.
BenefitsDown Sides
The benefits of the flamethrower track is that they own against hordes of zombies and against
the swarms.
The hairspray and match kinda sucks, flamethrowers dont kill instantly, you are screwed
if you have more than one flamethrower, it is mainly here for the pyros that want to see fire.
The Sniper Track:
The Sniper Track:
The Sniper Track:
The sniper track is very different from the other weapon types.
Starting with the M40A1, a bolt action rifle the sniper class is somewhat weak but gets insanely good
with the .50 caliber barret.

BenefitsDown Sides
The benefits of the sniper track is that it is a oneshot kill to almost all mobs (except ones with
very high health, mini-boss/boss mobs). The sniper is incredibally good at taking down bosses with
correctly placed headshots.
The down sides being that the M40A3 is a weak weapon, they are
horrible at close range and is pretty much useless if you have a group of 2-3 people.
The LMG track:
The LMG track:
The LMG track:
The LMG track starts with the M249 5.56 mm LMG,
a powerful light machine gun with a large clip. The LMG's will get
progressively more powerful the more you upgrade them.

BenefitsDown Sides
The benefits of the LMG are that they
have a very large clip and can pack a punch.
The down sides being that it has a
very long reload time, and is very inaccurate,
and has a slow rate of fire.
If everyone in the group is using an LMG
against the swarm you are guaranteed too fail.
The Shotgun Track:
The Shotgun Track:
The Shotgun Track:
The Shotgun track starts with the W1200 pump-action shotgun,
this shotty pretty much one shots anything and will smite zombies left and right.
The shotguns get quite a bit better through the upgrade tree, the best
being the Pancor Jackhammer Automatic Shotgun which will destroy
face on the battlefield.Another benefit is that shotguns are the classic
zombie massacre weapon
of choice!

BenefitsDown Sides
The benefits of the shotguns are they they
will one-shot nearly anything, have an AOE spray
so you can take out multiple foes at once.
You might be able to pull off all 28 days
with all shotguns if you play it right.
The down sides being that it starts as
pump action, they have short range, and the
reload time is somewhat long.
The Assault Rifle Track:
The Assault Rifle Track:
The Assault Rifle Track:
Ahh, the classic assault rifles!
What's better than spraying an praying with a G36C or M16 in your hands.

BenefitsDown Sides
The benefits of assault rifles are that they have
a large clip, a few shots kills and is dead accurate.
The down sides being that it doesn't do
that much damage but is good at weakening
alot of zombies because of it's clip.
It's suggested you keep one or two of
these max in each group.
The RPG Track:
The RPG Track:
The RPG Track:
You're probably saying to yourself,
RPG's in a zombie game, wtf? Well that's right, there is an RPG
tree for you trigger happy's that want to see zombies flying
30 feet in the air.

BenefitsDown Sides
The benefits of RPG's are that they fucking
own because you can take out aton of guys
with one shot. This is like the touch of god
when swarms come.
The down sides being that ammo is
on the expensive side, that there is only
two shots before reloading on the first
two RPG options, and it's not so great against
single targets. It is suggested that you
do have atleast one RPG per group for
when swarms come so you dont get pwned.
The SMG Track:
The SMG Track:
The SMG Track:
And here we are at the last weapon
type, SMG's. Small, fast ROF, like packages of energy crammed into
a little weapon. SMG's kill fast but have small clips and it's recommended
to have one to two per group depending on your group size.

BenefitsDown Sides
The benefits of SMG's is that they
have a very fast ROF and can kill
zombies damn fast. They have a medium
range and reload fast. SMG's are
great for taking down single targets.
The down sides being that they have
a small clip and arn't good at killing
multiple foes at once whatso ever.
Weapons Conclusion: In conclusion i would like to say that you
are not going to win with all RPG's, all SMG's, or all Assault Rifles etc. If you
want to beat the game you must spread weapons out evenly unless you're
goin for shotguns only, in that case, goodluck, you'll need it.

Zombie Manifestations:

Shamblers:

Shamblers-2.jpg
Can you say zombies? Blood sucking, brain eating, mutated zombies.
Shamblers are what 99% of the humans have been transformed into, and its
not pretty. Limping and sprinting towards your shotgun barrel, you’re gonna
see a lot of these guys.

HPGroup BehaviorMovement
Miniscule at firstMove/attack in groupsGround only, many speeds

Starting on day one zombies will be weak and slow, over time they will get
progressively stronger and faster, be prepared. Zombies have a high chance
to infect it's victims, don't get hit by one of these guys.

Click here for higher res picture, it looks alot better.

The Swarm:

Swarm.jpg
The result of infected animals and insects is the swarm, a
disgusting combination of what once were millions of different, thriving,
beings.

HPGroup BehaviorMovement
One shot killAttack in massive swarmsFast, ground only

Swarms will come about every 2-3 nights and you will receive a warning prior
to their arrival so you can prepare the proper defense. Traps and AOE
damage are a must.

Bile Gusher:

Bile.jpg
A bile gusher is a creature filled with infectious fluid. A gusher can
detonate on demand; survivors caught in the blast radius will take large
amounts of damage and will become infected. The bile gushers are played by
dead survivors, not AI.

HPGroup BehaviorMovement
100Played by dead survivorsMedium speed, rolls on ground

AbilityEffect
Combust
Explodes the gusher causing large amounts
of damage to survivors and infects in the area around
the explosion.

The gusher is played by survivors after they become infected and are not
treated within a certain amount of time, and die.

Vaporizer:

Vaporizer.jpg
Armed with four deadly scythes the vaporizer will impale survivors left and right
if you're not careful. This is a boss infected. A vaporizer will spawn
every 7 days. Days 7/14/21/28. The catch is that every 7 days one more
vaporizer spawns than there was before. This meens that on day 7 there
will be one, on day 14 there will be two, on day 21 there will be 3, and
before you board the shuttle (if you make it) there will be 4 vaporizers trying
to shank you.

HPGroup BehaviorMovement
1000Played by dead survivors
if there are any, if not,
its played by AI
Slow, on ground

AbilityEffect
Burrow
The vaporizer burrows into
the ground and prepares to ambush
the survivors, in this state he is
unable to move or attack but is also invisible.

Impale
The vaporizer lunges
at a point and impales anything
on that point.

Belcher:

Belcher.jpg
Over time, Bile Gushers consume corpses and other decaying
matter, develuping into larger and more complex life forms, even developing
the ability to float, this comonly achieved by vaporizing its stores of toxins.
Belchers are played by dead survivors, not AI.

HPGroup BehaviorMovement
500Played by dead survivorsSlow, Flys

AbilityEffect
Belch
The Belcher explodes one of its infected sacs doing
large amounts of AOE damage and infecting players in the radius. Once he
has casted this twice the Belcher is destroyed, if the Belcher is killed by
a survivor the sacs explode upon death.

Belchers will start spawning on the 5th night and be controlled by dead
survivors, if there are none then the AI will take control.
Please post ALL of your suggestions about the game,
I want all of your ideas to make this game the best
on Battle.net for starcraft 2 when it's released.

If you read the title, or the huge text at the top of the post you'll see that it is a
starcraft 2 map and SC2 hasnt been released yet, im brainstorming and creating ideas
so i can create the map asap as soon SC2 comes out. All suggestions and ideas are welcome and appriciated.

Edit: I added some reference screenshots in the game mechanics section
of what the tileset will mostlikely look like, these are just reference shots and does
not display what epidemic will look like.

Hmm i beg to differ. "just waiting" would be not planning or doing anything.
And what do you meen make it based on blizzards video's? if you meen the information
they have released so far that's what im doing.
And to be honest you cant get that original with a zombie story, nearly every story has
been done and i cant really think of any other logical way that somone would turn into a
brain thirsty cannibal than something tinkering with their brain, such as a virus.

1. I have watched these videos, looked at screenshots. If you read my original post you will see that i use concept art and screenshots from blizzard in my terrain/unit concepts.
2. I never said i wont do much until it comes out, i state that i will create the map itself when the game is released, there is no other option as i dont the map editor yet. I have a huge post explaining my game i have planned it out but it is impossible to acually work on the map until have a map editor. I have begun modelling some of the scenery but i cannt acually start making the map, im doin my best to do everything i can before i get my hands on the game so i can get to work asap.

This sounds awesome, though you will really need more enemy units.

A few things;

Story - May want to set it on earth, witht he survivors trying to get to a ship away fromt he mainland.

General Store - You may want to change the general stores type and item offer every time the players move to a new location, asthough they were moving to a new store

Weapons - Make more upgrades, and I'd suggest giving you optional 'Attachments' which can be bought as items and attached to your gun for a permanent effect, but must be upgraded, EG; A bipod for the LMG that can be used to make your guy stationary, but more accurate.

Wall Crawler:

hydraliskqq3_2.jpg
These beasts are affectionately named 'Wall Crawlers'. They have spines distending out of their snake-like tail, which allows them to grip to solid surfaces.

HPGroup BehaviorMovement
ModerateComes in groups of 3s and 4s.Moderate speed, slow on a wall. Ground

AbilityEffect
Wall Crawl
For the next X seconds, the Wall Crwaler can crawl along walls.

As you progress towards later levels, the chances that they will be a group of 4 increases, and they become faster on walls. They need a trigger as so that when they come to impassable terrain, they use the wall crawl ability to get around barricades and such.

I voted yes for everything.
The map would be pure pawnage when it gets released (if it evers, I rarely see completed maps nowadays). The concept is excellent and when reading the story, I felt the fear creeping of the zombies. If that really did happen, it would be really creepy!
However, I don't really see how killing loads of zombies will save human kind. Maybe make zombies die and revive after a few seconds or so. Your mission would then be to create vaccines for the whole population on the moon and cure everyone of the virus and purge it once and for all or something :p
Anyway, great idea and layout. It is really organised and I am really impressed! +REP!

+ about the infection its easy
EVENTS a unit attacks a unit
CONDITIONS attacking unit equal to = units of type zombie
attacked unit equal to = units of type human
ACTIONS replace attacked unit with Zombie
:)
+ about the research its easy
like they go in a room and see a computer then there's a cinematic where they find a folder or something and they understand or something
:)
about the creep idea you could use a wisp or something as a ground unit(fly height) that infects you when you step on it...
:)
about the weapons it's easy
you could create heal gun that heals zombies(player owned units) and +hp
:)
about the map it's easy
you could create a zone where a dead infect before death (Bile Gusher only) creates a green egg(model findable in the doodads) that after 1 min transforms in a zombie whit which you can play again...
:)
I Hope I Helped you!!

@GrandEnder, wow! Thanks for taken the time to lay that table out and really
get your idea across, it sounds like an awesome zombie and id love to have it in the game, now i
just need to think how ima get it to crawl on walls :p.

@Zach, thanks man! And in the story it shows the purpose of the map which isnt
just slaughtering zombies lol, its get to the shuttle landing pad before or at 28 days :D

@errorz, thank you for pointin these out ill make sure to take them into consideration
when i begin development on the game :).

At everyone, if you vote no on the poll options please explain why... i cant do anything
if you vote no and dont tell me what to do.

Edit: I changed the shambler artwork and added a new zombie.

Edit #2: Finished up one of my doodads thatll be used in the game, i might add a normal map later on,
not sure about it atm, but heres the UV and model so far.

Im excited to see this ingame when i get SC2 because of the completely new graphics engine it can handle
alot higher quality models.

Just a minor recommendation on the weapon classes:

Replace the M79 with the M32 MGL at the RPG grenadier class, and the M16 with the REC 7 (I wouldn't say the M16 is better than the M4A1, it depends on the scenario).

I'd recommend you to rework the machine gunners to the following: M60, M249, Vulcan (if you wanna go that radical). Isn't the M230 carried by helicopters and fighter planes? D:

Oh, and one last thing: Add a sniper class.

Belcher:

IMG can be found here; StarCraft II
Belchers are known to consume corpses of dead zombies and life forms, and then transform it into toxic gas.

HPGroup BehaviorMovement
LowA random spawn.Slow, Ground

AbilityEffect
Dead Gas
The belcher consumes a corpse nearby it, and then transforms it into a gas cloud X large. Survivors who step into the cloud are infected, and dealt X DPS.

Belchers become more effective depending on how many corpses are around them, especially during a Swarm spawn.

Floater:

3294173670_c93afceb03.jpg
Over time, Bile Gushers consume corpses and other decaying matter, develuping into larger and more complex life forms, even developing the ability to float, this comonly achieved by vaporizing its stores of toxins.

HPGroup BehaviorMovement
HighPlayer Controled.Slow. Flys.

AbilityEffect
Burst
The Floater bursts one of its two bile sacks (On the second use of this spell it dies) dealing heavy damage and infecting nearby survivors. Will be used on death if they do not die from use, effects zombies.

After a dead player has used bile gushers for a few days, they then begin to use these beasts. They can be incredibly deadly, and are best dealt at long-range. There is a plus to them however, in that they can be used against the zombie hordes if they are killed within a horde of zombies or a swarm.

to have the one that belches slime be the belcher.

Flesh Creeper:

Flesh Creepers are attracted by death, the very stench of rotting and decaying life they love.

HPGroup BehaviorMovement
VaryingA random spawn.(The Larger the slower), Ground

When Flesh Creepers spawn, the current number of corpses on the battlefield modifies their stats, the more corpses the higher their hp, but the lower their speed.

Im in for Suggestor and Hoster. For a suggestion, how about a Infection/Zombie Survival? You could be stuck in a Space Facility while most of the Crew were attacked by a Deadly Virus. You and your team survived because when the Virus attacked, you guys were out repairing the Oxygen Shaft which was where the Space Virus attacked by infecting the excess oxygen that had also infected the engineers and coincidently, one was fixing the power generator but was infected and had damaged it accidently. Now, you must survive with the remaining air you have and reactivate the power and call for help before you get swarmed. Too much Left 4 Dead? Well then Lol =3 its just a suggestion

@ GrandEnder: Of course you can be a suggestor, ill add you to the team. Would you
also like to be a tester/hoster? That is if your going to get SC2.
Im also liking that new unit you made, im gonna change it up a little bit but good work, keep it up.

I would also like to sign up for tester, but I may not be able to host with SC2. Sort of unsure.

Slither:

400px-Corruptor_concept.jpg
Slithers are burrowed half-intot he ground at all times, making them incredibly hard to destroy or fight.

HPGroup BehaviorMovement
ModerateEvery 2 levels.Very slow, Ground

Slithers have a natural 25% miss and damage reduction, they also begin to spawn more heavily as levels progress.

Flyer:

200px-SwarmGuardian_SC2_Game3.jpg
Flyers are incredible durable flying goliaths, siphoning up life as they drift over it.

HPGroup BehaviorMovement
Very HighSpawns every 14 days, dead player controlled. (If not its controlled by A.I.)Very Slow, Air

AbilityEffect
Festering
Whenever the Flyer moves over a corpse, it collects it. For every four corpses it consumes, it can fire a festering glob. Festering globs explode upon hitting something, dealing X% of the corpses sucked up max life, and infecting those hit over an X AOE.

These are super-bosses, right next to the final bosses at day 28. If you want to disable these monsters, you need to destroy as many corpses as possible, or be agile enough to dodge the Festering Glob.

On the last choice for weapons, you should be able to choose between two, EX;

The Type-69 RPG can be upgraded into either the M32 MGL OR the FIM-92 Stinger, each with different benefits.

Weapon Attachments should be available;

LMG Attachments;

Cloth Grip: Increses accuracy X%
Simply by wrapping the handles of your LMG in cloth, you can greatly reduce its overall recoil.

Upgradable to Rubber Grip: Increases accuracy X% more, grants you a X% chance to headshot for an instant kill on non-bossses.
A rubber grip on a LMG not only reduces recoil, but allows the user to shoot more accurate shots.

Bipod, Tripods, E.T.C. could all be used for these guns.

Sorry...........

Yes i think this could turn out to be a very good map and stuff..... BUT you really should be basing it off Star Craft 2 my reasons?

1: star craft 2 is going to be a high graphics game and there would be any point in doing this

2: the guns that you have here arent even close to like the ones they're going to have in starcraft

But over all i think this WILL turn out to be a big map and played alot BUT you really shouldnt base it off SC2

You have NO idea what your talkin about pal.
Please get some facts before you try to correct my work.
Everyone single monster is based on those that are going to be implemented
into Starcraft 2. And what makes you think that every single thing from my
game has to already be in SC2. It's called modding for a reason. I know my facts, and i know that marines are equipped with a 8mm C-14 Impaler Gauss Rifle. That is why i take the marine into 3ds max 2009, remove
the weapon and create attachments then reatach them in game. Plus:
2: the guns that you have here arent even close to like the ones they're going to have in starcraft
There are no selectable guns in starcraft2, its part of the unit mesh, therefore your point makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.
And you contradict your self.
played alot BUT you really shouldnt base it off SC2
and
BUT you really should be basing it off Star Craft 2 my reasons?
Please
do not EVER critisize or correct someones work to smallest extent
if you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about.

@JadeGolem i like the sniper rifle idea and im working on a sniper rifle tree right now, but also plz read
over my first post and take a look at the different weapon trees to see how its all sorted out, ill
get workin on the sniper right away :)

@GrandEnder, play nice with other people.

updated seperated weapon suggestion from Infected.

]
Banshee:

kerrigan.jpg

Banshees are woman mutated from a rare strand of the infection. They have grown wings and claws and are highly adapted for search and destroy.

HPGroup BehaviorMovement
ModeratePlayer ControledModerate, Ground

AbilityEffect
Glide
The Banshee leaps into the air and glides with her wings onto the the target location.

By gliding, bashees can get to areas faster than most zombies can.

AbilityEffect
Barrage
The Banshee grabs a survivor and begans to claw him till death while choking him. If the banshee is attacked during the process, she will lose her grip on the survivor, allowing him to kill her while she is stunned from the shock.

Although powerful, Barrage can easily be countered with by sticking together.

Very VERY good, im lovin the banshee idea, it is brilliant, yet very balanced and does
not overpower the humans, ill add her later tonight :).
I also added the sniper weapons into the first post and plan to do some more icons later tonight.
@GrandEnder, if you want you can start coming up with some different attachments
for the different weapon types.

Updated my gun suggestions with a new grenade launcher and a unique tier 3 for snipers. The Beam Rifle is a one of a kind attachment and is able to deal devestating damage to infected. It is a one of a kind because it has been developed by the FBI and is in testing.

EDIT.

Laser Attachment(Tier 1 Laser Dot): A small dot used by teachers to get the attention of students to a certain objects. Neverthless, its useful for blowing out brains.

Laser Attachment(Tier 2 Laser Aim): A standard laser point attachment used by Marines and the Police. Perfect for headshotting zombie brains.

Weapon Suggestion
Pistols(Tier 2 Dual Glock 18s): With double firepower, two glocks are definately better than one with the exception of the ammo cost, which is two times as great.

Just a heads up on the First sniper, the M40A1, is actually the most common used sniper not the A3.

Agreed but the glocks should have drum barrels, so you dont run out of ammo in a second as they are semi/auto. interchangeable.

@Jadegolem nice sniper and attachment ideas. I love the attachments but for the weapons,
we want to keep them all modern, not one ancient one, one modern one, one futuristic one etc.
Keep up the good work. and lol at laser pointer :p

@t3h b055 ill change the snipers and btw glocks are pistols lol, they cant use drum barrels xD

Assault Rifle Upgrades-

Laser Dot Sight: Making one of these is quite simple, you know those laser pointers you buy at corner stores? Tape one to your gun.
Increases range by X and grants an X% chance to critical for a headshot.

Grenade Launcher: Grenade Launchers that have an underbarrel launch system are highly effective weapons, almost like a rocket launcher and a rifle in one.
Gives yout he ability to fire a grenade at the target area with a cooldown of X. When it hits the area, it explodes for X damage.

Sniper Rifle -

Telescopic Sights: Break binoculars in half and strap one peice to your gun. Its quite simple really.
Increases range by X, and attacked enemies are considered to have X% less armor when shot.

Tripod: Tripods are 3-legged objects, and int he case of guns, they are dissassemblable mounts.
Increases accuracy by X%, damage by X% and reduces movespeed by 100%.

((All upgrades can be upgraded once))

I think I'll have to rework those a bit. At least the older (formerly glowed) ones.

Sniper Rifle(Tier 1 Mosin Nagnet):
An ancient rifle used during World War 2. Although old, it packs a punch in blowing out zombie brains.

I don't think we should go that far back. Far as I'm concerned, the M21 SWS could be the first one.

Sniper Rifle(Tier 3 G13 Beam Rifle):
A new generation of sniper rifles secretly being developed by the FBI. It is a one of a kind weapon.

Since there's hardly any information about that, I'd recommend to use the Barrett M82 Multi-propose rifle, as we are aware of its combat capabilities.

Grenade Launcher(Tier 1 XM307):
A grenade launcher used by the military. Is devestating against hordes of zombies and setting them on fire. Can use different types of grenade ammo.

There are a few problems with that idea, I believe. First of all, the XM307 is not portable, secondly, it's an automatic grenade launcher, therefore if it gets employed it definately shouldn't be in Tier 1.

@GrandEnder i like your attachment ideas, one thing though, the snipers already have
scopes :p.
@zombie2279 out of curiousity why are you going to have to rework them? The idea of
the icons is that they match the border and color scheme of the game, they dont have
to be identical to the acual sc2 icons but let me know what you have in mind.
Also, i already have the sniper tree on the first page. M40A1 (because it's bolt action), M21, then the barret.

Mmm drum barrel wasn't the right word. But G18s, do come with drum magazines. Here it is. They are also used in the online game War rock.

Well that is to say that in a lot of OFPS, they have them, because the glock normally has a small clip. Just a suggestion. Attachment maybe?

Whoops i had the wrong link for the video, here is the right one: http://video.fosfor.se/extreme-glock-18/Glock with a drum magazine

Yeah i guess we could use it as an attachment only thing is that the glock is meant to be
a starter weapon, people that spend their money on other things can still get a weapon so
having an attachment for a starting weapon that can't be upgraded somes pointless, nonetheless.
im sure somone would use it, ill add it in laterz.

@ Everyone:

There are two more jobs we need filled up that will be added to the first page:
1. Concept artist: Create 2d concepts of the guns/scenery objects that should be used
in the game to give me reference when i create the models.

2. Terrain Concepts: We need somone to start creating sketches/ideas/all they can think
of for the terrain of the game.

@ t3h b055: nice avatar.... lol.
Decide on a few roles you want to undergo and ill add you to the list.

@ GrandEnder: Thats true, im not sure how i would code making it so that the zombie doesnt target
the humans but ill figure it out. If you want you could start doing some overhead drawings of what
you think their town should look like and the path they should take over 28 days.

@ Everyone: We need more ideas for equipment so get thinkin :) fyi, equipment does not include weapons.

Also! Important!: I am debating whether or not to make the game one of the following:

1. The players have a few minutes at the beginning of the game to find a base and get items.
They have to last 28 days in a base and every few days make a scout troop that
ventures into the city for items/go to the general store. (details are subject to change)

2. What we have right now, they have to make it across the city stopping every now and then
and reach a destination.

Vote! Put either "1" or "2" in your next post in the thread.
Starting tommarow i will be gone for a few days because im driving from california up to oregon so start voting.

Hmm I'm not sure about this but i believe your second SMG the MP5A1, should actually be the MP7A1, not sure if there was an MP5 model. The only MP5 i know is the MP5N. Oh and a quick question, in your story it says they were able to take a vaccine, but then in the polls they have to research a cure? I'm confused, if they had a vaccine why not just find out what it WAS and then make more? or did you already answer this?

It had a modified foregrip redesigned into a traditional handguard that did not allow the fitting of the MP5K's foregrip to make it compliant with the Semi-Auto Weapons Ban of 1989. It was made from 1989 to 1994.
HK54: This was the original model that was produced in the mid 1960s. It later became known as the MP5A1, a very slightly modified version.

Alpha
23329_SC2-Hydralisk-01_normal.jpg

A strand of the virus that mutates the victim into a snakelike being with spikes sprouting out of his body and claws replacing his hands. Although still without emotion, the Alpha has retained some intelligence and has the unique ability to call out zombies to attack.

Abilities
Grave Call: The Alpha calls upon 3 armed zombies from the gravel for support. Armed zombies are equiped with tier 2 assault rifles but like most zombies, are easily killed. Armed zombies must be given commands with a special command menu.

Charge: The Alpha rushes towards the target survivor and lashes one of his claws at him, causing an instant 3 second knockdown and a gash that will continue to bleed untill he has medical attention.

Zombie Commands:
Move: Orders all armed zombies under the control of the Alpha to move to
the target location.

Stop: Orders all armed zombies under the control of the Alpha to stop its
current order

Hold: Orders all armed zombies under the control of the Alpha to hold its
position, auto-attacking and nearby Survivor.

Attack: Orders all armed zombies under the control of the Alpha to attack
the selected target.

Patrol: Orders all armed zombies under the control of the Alpha to patrol
the target point.

Detonate: Orders all armed zombies under the control of the Alpha to
detonate at the target location, causing any unit within its explode radius
to take damage and a 2 second knockdown.
