Discussion: Reddit and other platforms

The hive has done a decent job in being present on some social media platforms, but not all. Utilizing all the web resources would do the website a great deal, and I firmly believe that opening up a r/hiveworkshop subreddit would help.

What are your opinions?

That would be very stupid. Take forum activity away from the site and give it to some random company. We might as well shut down the site then.

I was thinking more of something to attract new people rather than something that does what this website already does.

Isn't reddit kinda like a forum anyway? I don't see what it can do that hive can't.

I didn't give too much though into it but, there are a lot of people who are redditors who aren't hivers, and a lot of people have the reddit app on their phone meaning if they are subscribed to /r/hiveworkshop, they'd get pinged a notfication. r/hiveworkshop could have announcements like contents winners, major updates about the site, and similar things. It can be made where only hive staff can actually post to prevent losing form activity from the hive, but now that I think about it, there can be better ways to obtain better results than using reddit.

A Hive app with a simpler UI and notifications alert is defeinitly a must, and thats definitely a much better option than the reddit thing.

It's like the middle ground between 4chan and a dedicated form. It still hasnt quite grown on me yet but I occasionally use it.

I am a huge fan of translating things into words and things we are all familiar of and sometimes I manage to do it myself quite decently.
