Right click on the TOD_Campaign_Assets.csw file and open with Archive Utility.
Unzip the Asset Pack as you would a zip file into the retail folder within the Reforged installation directory.
Open the terminal and enter the following exactly:
defaults write "com.blizzard.Warcraft III" "Allow Local Files" -int 1
If texture issues persist after the above steps, try restarting the machine.

This runs Reforged under Steam's emulation layer
Unzip the Asset Pack as you would a zip file into the retail folder within the Reforged installation directory
The tricky part is finding your "home" directory where you put your custom campaigns. In one user's case (agibsonccc) the filepath was the following:
/home/agibsonccc/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/2542504305/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Documents/Warcraft III/Campaigns
The way proton works is you have steam and then an "appid" followed by a "prefix". The appid is basically a mapping to a "game" you specify in the left side in steam. That's wine's root directory. drive_c is C: then from there the paths should be the same.
If texture issues persist after the above steps, try restarting the machine.
Launch "Wacraft III: Reforged" game
Go to “Single Player” → “Custom Campaign”

First of All,
amazing work there, that's why I loved WC3 orginaly, the custom campagnes and you guys did a fantastic job making the best out of the mess blizzard originaly delivered here.
I just have one problem at the moment:
After reaching the 4th Act, in the first mission (Gul'dans betrail) I SOUNDS like there should be both Blackhand brothers. But I only ever have one of them (Maim) as well as Zuluhed.
This continues in the Tomb and the battle at Cross Island.
In Crossisland I cant seem to finish this part of the battle, since when I destroy the citadel, the games does not realize it is destroyed and simple continues to run.
Any idea how to fix this?
Since not more people reportet this problem, I guess I did something wrong somewhere als mind campagne?

Streamers suffered a lot and I agree than enemy navy upgraded to 2 when yours can upgraded to 1 is not good balance)
I agree that it wasn't the best design indeed haha. Just that it's the only moment I was challenged so far.

Oh no, and the ubber powerful level 6 wolf spawning outta nowhere in the third (fourth?) mission.

Anyway, that was just banter from me, I love the campaign :)

The bug with missiing Rend was casued by wrong trigger sequence in original relese when Rend is stored into cache in end of Misison 9.
This bug was fixes in a hotfix patch.
To playaround this you need to download campaign file agian from hive, replace it inyour documents folder, then start with act 3 - cheat through misison 8 and 9 to store Rend properly in a cache.
After that he will appear in misison 12 13 14

I saw Nobbel87 playing this and on his playthrough of the first level little snippets of lore kept appearing in the chat, I found that super cool

On my playthrough those don't appear, any idea why?

Lore hints were too verbose and they were removed in the release

So, I've downloaded the campaign, I've moved it to the campaign folder in documents -> W3, but some units are shown as being white. Any idea? Models are not loading.

Is there anything I am missing? Can I get some help?

Greetings everyone!

First and foremost, I grew up with Warcraft 2:Tides of Darkness and it's expansion Beyond the Dark Portal so I was leery to hear someone "re-making" it so to speak. Especially after what Blizzard did and didn't do to Warcraft 3: Reforged. I watched the trailer and was blown away, of course I thought "Hey if you're good with designing and making videos you could make a good trailer....I wonder how it actually plays though?" I navigated through the website to find the 3 or 4 missions being played out. Although they weren't 100% yet I was awestruck. I couldn't wait to play! Then I found out it was coming out in just over a week. I told everyone on my stream I was absolutely going to do this and give my review of one of my most beloved games.

I played through the first time, got to the Stratholme fight and when the cinematic ended after I killed the mage I was sadly told I auto lost. I restarted the mission and played through just fine. Then I got all the way to the Cho'gall boss fight and encountered what most people did which was a glitch in act 2. To my surprise Mr.Goblin, a mod and someone who worked on the game, was in my chat! What? I gave him a few thoughts and he said hey by the way...there is an update for this fight, you should go check it out! So I did, once I got everything downloaded and up and running again I had to start from chapter 8 I believe but even replaying it was an amazing feeling. Other than those 2 instances I didn't face off with other bugs or glitches.

This has been an absolute pleasure to play and I am so glad I found out about it before it came out. I loved how Lorecraft Designs added lore from modern Warcraft lore while keeping it warcraft 2 lore and style. For me it didn't clash. All the added scenes we only got to read about or imagine seemed to come to life in this re-imagining. As a lore buff myself being able to see more of how the Death Knights were created rather than reading 3 lines of "warlock souls went into the former stormwinds knights and use necromantic magic" was fantastic. I could go on and on with the extra scenes like seeing Blackrock Mountain and the Horde setting up their base of operations, Varok Saurfang and the different dwarf clans! The unique models were something to be seen indeed....especially Orgrim Doomhammer. Seeing abilities on Zul'jin from Heros of the Storm and even playing a mission to defend Zul'Aman couldn't have been more home hitting for me.

It wasn't 100% as some of the lore seemed a bit inaccurate, and trust me when I say this it's very tiny. Like a line or two, not major plot points. Some of the voice recordings seemed off...like the whole game Zuluhead sounded great, then he shouted toward the end and it sounded like the actor was 10 feet away from the microphone and echoed a bit. When Zul'jin got angry in Zul'aman it sort of the same thing with Zuluhead, seemed off, distant and kind of echoed.

Let me say though, to all who those who worked on this project....THANK YOU. From the bottom of my heart THANK YOU. Even with the few criticisms I have, it did not stop me from having some of the best time gaming that I have had in a long time. I was (and still am to be honest) more excited about this re-imagining than I am about live content in World of Warcraft right now. This brought back the feeling of true faction pride and FOR THE HORDE that got me into the Warcraft Universe to begin with. This game truly (with just 1 of its 2 campaigns) passed beyond my dreams of playing. We got Warcraft 3 Reforged but you guys gave us the game we truly deserved. I will be playing again...and again lol, on Hard mode, do challenge modes for myself and my stream, even compare Original Warcraft 2 with yours mission by mission just to show how accurate and true you stayed to the game while making worthwhile changes to feel modern.

Score: 10 / 10 Even with my criticisms this went beyond my expectations and dreams so again I thank you all for working on it so hard, with such conviction and true fandom. I (we) appreciate you all and can absolutely not wait for the next campaign to launch. I will promote this to everyone I know and keep it on my stream.

On a final note, I saw at one point you guys were looking for voice actors for the human campaign for English / U.S. Versions. I can not seem to find that page again but if you do I would love to be a part of that, just let me know if there is still room and how to apply.

It's a near perfect and always engaging campaign! Had only one bug during the Cho'Gall Battle where he wanted to run away from the battle and I couldn't reach him. :ogre_hurrhurr::ogre_rage:

Also Rend Blackhand was gone for that whole mission. Making me fight with only Maim Blackhand. HARD MODE!! :mwahaha:

It's a near perfect and always engaging campaign! Had only one bug during the Cho'Gall Battle where he wanted to run away from the battle and I couldn't reach him. :ogre_hurrhurr::ogre_rage:

Also Rend Blackhand was gone for that whole mission. Making me fight with only Maim Blackhand. HARD MODE!! :mwahaha:View attachment 460749
Newest version of the campaign fixes that bug.

I just finished the campaign and my head is exploding. This makes me want a mod that allows you to play with these units, buildings in custom games, as well as the ability to either select the clan or kingdom via color like in warcraft 2.
Russian language needs to be added (Kazakhs, etc. understand Russian language)

Insanely good work, everything is just perfect. Normal warcraft gameplay mixed with interesting bossfights (and even "rpg missons") and sometimes not trivial side missions makes this mod absolutly must have. No bugs, outstanding models, absolutly lore friendly. What can I say? Thank you kindly for your hard work, hope you gonna make human campain as well!

How can i defeat the bossfight in the tomb of sargeras it seems impossible
It is hard, I had to replay it prob like 10 times lol. However the trick I found seems to be keeping him distracted with the elemental you summon (which becomes a fel elemental and no longer yours to control), kill his minions and while he fights the elemental hit him and stun ONLY him. Try to stay outta range when you can and heal yourself often. Don't forget to use your feral leap to dodge minons attacks in btween killing them. It takes a few tries but it works. Good Luck friend!

I would also VERY VERY MUCH LOVE to have a mod for multiplayer to use these units and their respective clans, factions / kingdoms

Thank you, but it just closes the game and that's it. I'm on Mac tho, so that's mostly due to shinanigans (downloading assets via Windows container, then copying them, and then running the Campaign on a Mac Warcraft III version.
Hi, any chance you could tell me where you copied the assets? I installed Warcraft 3 Reforge on my mac via the battle net and I downloaded the campaign(i found the folder for the campaign as the game gives it to you) and the assets, however I have no idea where to install the assets or copy them. What steps did you follow to do this and did you manage to play it fully?

This campaign is awsome, incredible! Its MASTERPICE! Please. I just have two small comments. Please create a new unique model for Drak'thul similar to the one from Warcraft III reforged. Also in the quest that Drak'thul gives, on the ritual island should be more orcs from Stormreaver and Twillight Hammer Clan and less demons, to refer more to the quest from Warcraft III Frozen Throne. With these two details this campaign will be PERFECT. I love your work! You did what Blizzard could not. After all these years, I felt like I was playing real Warcraft again, Thank You!

The game is crashing in mission 5 after I complete the "Fortify Dun Modr" quest, at a random time. I've restarted the whole campaign and reinstalled W3R and CSW w/ the installer. There is no game crash error dialog box, just straight to desktop.

So I checked, W3R is using about 5.5Gbs of RAM and I have 32Gbs of RAM available with around 50% free even after W3R has loaded the mission. Is there a way to mitigate this? Would destroying my units or buildings help with the RAM usage?

A truly wonderful campaign, reminiscent of Blizzard's better days.
But, for me personally, there was a fly in the ointment.
In the fifth chapter (Tol Barad), for some reason, FPS drops constantly occur. Yes, during panoramic views they happen regularly, this is normal. But it is in this chapter that the FPS at the start is practically unplayable, after about 5 minutes everything stabilizes, and after 10 minutes it drops again. And this happens constantly throughout the passage of the chapter, regardless of the rain, the gradual opening of the map, and so on.
In any case, I got to the ninth chapter (Tyr's Hand), but I can’t get through it. After the destruction of the Stromgarde keep on the frozen lake, as I managed to understand, the first main camp disappears from the map. And along with receiving a new main quest, another main quest is considered failed due to the destruction of my first camp. And, therefore, the game ends in failure and prompts you to load, lower the difficulty and stuff like that.
Is this some kind of bug? And is it possible to somehow fix this?

I also have Reforged, but hardly have any issues since I have a supped up computer...

So I've put everything to low or off and started killing my own units. Made no difference. W3R was still hovering at 5.8Gbs of RAM when it crashed.

My Specs:

AMD 7800X3D
32 Gbs of DDR5 6000 MT/S RAM
Nvidia GeForce RTX 4080
W3R is installed on an SSD.

32 GB of RAM sounds like a lot for playing Reforged on new graphics, due to the huge amount of memory. However, VRAM Usage is really important, due to how massive the Reforged assets are, which is likely where a lot of memory is going, to hold VRAM data that has to be paged out from the GPU into main RAM.

You probably need a high-end GPUs with 8GB (or more) of VRAM. Typical consumer GPUs (like GTX 1050 Ti or GTX 1650 Super) are not even really designed to handle this problem.

If you check on Task Manager while still running the game, you might know that RAM and VRAM Usages are most likely getting consumed so much.

Someone knows where the dragon part item is in the level 6, in the wetlands, when you reach Grim Batol?

I have read somewhere that the fire elemental should loot it but I've tried three times the missions, even changing the direction, it don't, so I suppose it's not him.

The thing is I used to have no problem at all with Reforged prior to the last 6 months. Same laptop, same specification (no modification or else). It is just somehow drop into super low FPS.

Also what do you mean by "checking stuff around"?

Thos bugs were fixed in latest version. Please donwload the campaing and continue from act 3
You can cheat through misison 8 and 9 to store Rend with proper values in the cache.
His absence in misison 12 should be fixed after that
