Battle Realms follows the basic formula for many real-time strategy games.
There are many factions which have similar buildings of similar uses with similar workers.
However, unlike other real-time strategy games, the peasant worker unit is not just used for resource gathering and construction, but also in military units.
Thus, military buildings in Battle Realms are not used for making units,
but for transforming and upgrading them.

This map can be approved, however I encounter a bug that completely consumes a worker unit from a "Summoning" like structure just to create a warrior unit. Instead of letting the worker unit continue on such building to produce a fighter but requires a specific food count, make a trigger that will make them pause and show a message that this specific unit requires a food count. Because it only eats my peasants when I enter them in the barracks and nothing happens.

If you can fix that I can set this for approval.

I had a look at the map but it was a bitter delusion not to find a set of upgradable skills for heroes. Heroes are the main constituents of any race because their skills make the difference in a battle so giving just one passive/active ability to each hero ruins the fun. However, since the map's main focus is not on heroes, the map is approvable. It's original idea is what makes this map unique in its type so it would be a shame not approving it.

I guess we can turn a blind eye on the "wominization" issue (male peasant ---> female warrior) :xxd: Nevertheless, I'm really asking myself why a tier 1 main structure isn't automatically created when I choose a race. Why should I waste time building it at the very beginning of the game when I can have it ready in front of me and immediately gather some resources? You should really work on this one.

Overall the map is approved with a rating of 3/5.

Ya like u said the main factor is not on heroes in that map, u don´t even need to have a hero in this. The normal units(Tier 1, 2, 3) and the right use and constellation of them is the point of this map :wink:
So like in the real one, they just have a single skill, but they get stronger with each level wich is a difference ofcourse.

ya that might seems strange :xxd: but ya i should clarify that as an permanent exchange instead :DD

okay yes u´r right i should work on that but the thing is that u choose ur place on ur own, i could make it like that that the first building u build costs like a second to create:ogre_icwydt:

Woah! I was just talking to a fellow map-maker here in Hive about re-creating a Battle Realms map for WarCraft III. Didn't know there was already one at the works. I'll download this and play as soon as I have the time.

Its kinda weird for a man to fully transform into a woman on the battlefield is ridiculous, lol. I'll be testing this later on.

In the real Battle Realms, a tooltip actually explains this. Peasants (who are male) are TRADED for geishas in the bath houses. They take over the chores that geishas perform in the bath house once a geisha attends to battlefield duties. :)

In the original game, the male peasant is traded with the female inside the building like a "permanent exchange program".

I did not notice that someone already explained this idea here. Haha! The idea of a WarCraft III version of my favorite game got me a bit too excited.

I was thinking at one point making something like this calling it "Warcraft Realms" maybe... Using the cool fighting movement unique in Battle Realms but with altered melee solution and using the generic warcraft units to maximum extent, but it never was realized as a project, just empty thinking.

What I liked with the original Battle Realms is the unique combat system where the units fly around while fighting. Unfortunately you are close to the 8mb limit which limits your import progression unfortunately.


There's small stuff like you must "built near a gold mine" messages and stuff. Limited what I found on testing this alone.


Otherwise this is using the WC3 engine as it is. I tried with computer, but no AI. I don't feeling giving this a rating yet as testing it alone doesn't count.

i have played the real battle realms enough to know that this is not really battle realms but more of a blend of warcraft 3 and battle realms. it can be made a lot better gameplay wise. the training system for example is kind of messed up because the units have be given orders to train close to the building. you should remove food and and upkeep. food can be replaced by yin and yang. you should at least make the workers free as they are free in battle realms. in battle realms workers is named peasants independent of faction. the dragon clan units is spearman, archer, chemist, dragon warrior, kabuki warrior, powder keg cannoneer, samurai and geisha. you should correct the unit names. the tooltip for too low resources need to be changed to the new ones. since this project only have 4 factions you could bind them to faction choices made on the menu before the game starts.

hm I guess you don´t understand this...
this is not like the real Battle Realms I know it´s just a mod and it has some similar aspects but I give it my own note and
it´s in wc3 style. ya it´s a mix of wc3 and Battle Realms -> not a perfect copy of Battle Realms. If u want to play Battle Realms
go and play the orginal one. Look at this like it´s an individual game/map (with stuff from both games).
U can´t rate this like, is it a perfect copy of the original? no of course not -> what should be the matter of making a perfect copy
I did it like I want it to be. So like it or not. But don´t tell me how to make it like BR original I know the orginal very well and I want this to be different. :)
