Design your very own cursor!

25 reputation for the winner & every contestant shall receive 5 reputation each!
[*]A special designed layer for the winner in the 2D Art Mini-Contests: The Victorious thread!

None yet!

All submissions must follow the current theme.
You are not allowed to copy-paste any element.
The cursor should have a unique concept.
Your submission in form of *.tga & *.blp [and (if done through the following) *.psd (Adobe Photoshop)/*.xcf (GIMP)].
You must show at least one unfinished preview of your submission, before the deadline, as proof that it’s yours.
Your submission may not be started/made before the official launch of the contest.
Teamwork is not allowed.
The submission has to follow the site rules.
Proper format:

The 2D Mini-Contest "A Cursor's ®obe" shall begin on 30th of October and conclude on 10th of December.

Maybe you should add a rule that states: TGA/BLP files mandatory.
Otherwise, how can you test the cursor ingame? And mind you, that is essential.
Cursors look very differently on a plain canvas and when actually used.

would love to join. Problem is the timing is abit off. I'm very busy in November. D: looks like I'll have to do it between 4th Dec and 10th Dec. I hope the time frame won't be shorten, and it's best if it's lengthen!

You can modify everything you see, but the function should be maintained.
So: a kitten won't be the best way of displaying the action of scrolling.

You can replace every cursor ingame anyway, so no need to create 4 race-specific ones.
One is more than sufficient.

Let's get this show on the road.
First WIP: Very messy, might turn into something though.
No, let's dump this...

Second WIP: potential Psi Blade?

Third WIP: No Psi Blade, some shield thingy instead.

Fourth WIP: current version in-game. Satisfying result for the moment, will have to tweak some stuff though to make this look better.
That's pretty much the hardest part: polishing the whole thing. :V
And we still have to create the "grab item" thingy...

Fifth WIP: Whole new design. I asked a good friend and he told me the previous one lacked a real theme, which is completely true.
So, here's a new one, which I am really happy with.

WIP: Finished a large version might not be as good shrunk down.

WIP 2: Shrunk down version in-game.

WIP 3: Added a little rotation animation to attack cursor.

WIP 4: Added a dragon head like arrow for the scroll arrow.

WIP 5: Added the pinchy cursors.

You need an alpha channel, otherwise that cursor won't work ingame.
You will see a square with the cursor on it.
Also, that's REALLY dark.

Also, as far as I can see, you copypasted your http://www.hiveworkshop.com/forums/icons-541/btnwoodenshieldperspective2-224851/.
That's prohibited. :V

just kidding. Don't hate me for that. Peace. =) Well, I did tried to make one cursor, more of egyptian theme, to fit APproject's Seth's Reign UI that I made. However, I'm thinking to remake it. When I have time, I'll be sure to make it. Now I'm busy for the whole month, and I'm only online-ing through my phone atm.The deadline is due 10th December right? I hope there won't be any sudden changes that make the deadline sooner.

I am not familiar with any case where the deadline has been advanced.
It usually got extended when necessary.

I really hope we will see plenty submissions in this mini-contest, as it's a really challenging, but fun task.

I lost my graphics tablet pen so they suck more than the sucky resources I usually make. Anyway, feel the MOOOSE POWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

Add1: O OO O! I have an idea, the "attack" won't change it's color but the moose will breathe deeply... or something like that...

Add2: Noticed something... when you click "A", "Left" to see the angry moose it is upside-down. Gonna have to fix that with the next version.

I know that the attack is cut, I'll have to fix that, make it smaller somehow, reduce the horns size, will think of it tomorrow. Hmm... also in the pink picture you can see the moose "breathing". But... I couldn't do it cuz when I save it as .TGA from Photoshop and open it from GIMP it has no layers... and without layers I can't do the image transparent correctly... something like that :\

Ok... I did it. It was quite the war with that... GIMP. Gonna show you the image tomorrow, oops, I forgot to give you this image though:

New Update: Double Rainbow moose added

1: They suck, too blurry... I must add more contrast

damn.

2: I'm gonna have to make that rainbow more like a tail, cuz it doesn't look good in-game like that... wow, I can't get the rainbow to "move" with 3 images... with 2 it's quite easier, something like nyan cat but three... so, one of them will repeat... they play: 1 2 3 and if the first image is lets say x and the second y it's x y x x y x x y x x y... so it sucks a little... I hope that if I make a tail to the rainbow it will look better :/

So, I made a completely new idea for a cursor, its not really unique, but I think no one has done it in warcraft so here

Will add some better shading to it, and maybe make it more look 3d
