People need to stop being off topic. Stop comparing a WC3 map to a massive series like Oblivion.

I, like Tito, am curious about classes.

Each class will have different end or starting story, we are working on story right now so I can't tell you everything...

Also each class show (more or less):

-> Different weapons to carry
-> Different armors to carry
-> Different damage type
-> Different armor type
-> Different spells to learn and play with
-> Different story
-> Different quests
-> Different base stats (AS, MS, regenerations, hp, mp, attributes and so on)

I love single-player RPG's

Fact is that you can add a lot more sophisticated systems a lot easier with single player RPG's.
You also have less lag, the game is more gameplay-based, usually has a nice story (since stories can be told in much better ways in single-player), etc.
I can't find a single reason why ORPG's should be better. None at all, really. Maybe because I dislike people? Or because SP RPG's or just better?
Conclusion: I love single-player RPG's far more than ORPG's.

I don't find this a waste of time at all (...that is until you realize you're modding a 10-year old game, but I still do that as well :p).

SP RPGs are better since you have all the freedom in the (game) world to do what you what and for as long as you want.
There are also no noobs that ruin the game. Stories in SP RPGs work better since they only need to trigger for one player; thus enhancing the experience.

Even at 10 years, it's still awesome, ap0c. :D

This SP RPG will be awesome. I'm sure. :D

In my opinion SPRPGs should be based on the player, not the story. SPRPGs have the resources and space to accomplish that. In other words, no linear storylines. Saving a burning farm? Why not chuck oil on the rest of it, kill the farmer and watch it burn. Just an example.

Hmm... Maybe by making it slightly 'sandbox' styled could make it more interesting too:)
Currently, I don't see much problem with it though.

True enough. Sandbox games are still fun (minecraft, anyone?)

After testing the map a little, I found that the textbox for the abilities should be bigger (or slightly redone).
It's pretty noticeable that you didn't use trackables, but the system works decent so that's fine by me.

At first sight I did miss some 'speed' in the game, something to make you think you're not walking the entire way just to kill 3 wolves, head back to town to see you forgot a few things and walk back - something that makes the gameplay looks faster.
Perhaps the stats will make up for that, I don't know. Hard to tell in this early stage :p

For some, Blizzard doesn't make the best games.
It's all up to the person.
You're right.
But we're on a site dedicated to Blizzard games here ^^
For me (personally), Blizzard creates the best games (WoW, Warcraft, Starcraft, Diablo... all games which easily kick at least 90% of their competitors for the same genre, WoW being the 'best' (personal) MMORPG and Starcraft being the best (for Korea and for me personally) strategy game).

That's not so big problem, can be fixed easily.

You will be able to use portals (like in diablo :p)

Blizz kicks ass in the RTS genre, true.
Blizz kicks massive ass with WoW in the MMORPG genre, true.

My favorite (And the only one I've played) is Warcraft III. I tried a bit of SC, but I sucked.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to this. I'll think of good items for the Alchemist now. :3

Weapons are finished!

I hate the way everything was so serious and stuff, so I decided to spice things up by adding humor to this whole ordeal. Everyone, feel free to check it out and tell me what you think. Is a touch of humor good or bad?

On a side note to that: I totally wrecked my brain to come up with stuff like this, so it'd be really bad if ya'll didn't like it :/

PS: I'm working on the potions and they should be done soon. Some feedback about how you'd wanted those to be done would be nice

I like it very much :)

This one was the best ↓
Even though it doesn’t do much to prevent you from getting stabbed to death, this fine iron mail is actually quite handy. For example: if you are slashed across the stomach, its thick chain weave material will (maybe) prevent your guts from falling out, and therefore automatically prevents the risk of getting an infection (and thus possibly preventing death!) from dragging your bowels in the dirt.

:xxd:

Comment guys, what you think?

Rusty Iron Sword:
"the worst" (not the worse)
"the bright side" (the upside is usually used as "on the upside, it's very cheap" so I prefer "bright side" in this case).

Iron Sword:
"low-quality" (forgot the dash).
"weapons dealer" (you wrote "the weapon his dealer").

Iron Axe:
"Neanderthals" (capital letter).
"below" (typo)

Rusty Iron Shield:
"So, either buy this or GTFO!!! Noob!" I don't exactly like a description like that, but that's a personal opinion.

Steel shield:
"So if you" (no comma here I think).

Steel mail:
"from one piece of full metal" (The "a" shouldn't be there afaik).

I'm not native English, so I might have made mistakes while correcting (oh, the irony).
The text itself is really great, love it ^^

W00t! Someone actually bothered to click on the link! Just kidding :D I really appreciate the feedback! First of all, I just want to mention that the description was done in American English, so some terms were done in their (street) slang.

Okay let's see here:

"the worst" (not the worse) - You're totally right about this one, dunno how I could miss it :S

"the bright side" (the upside is usually used as "on the upside, it's very cheap" so I prefer "bright side" in this case). - Technically, you're right. But this is the genuine example of slang (mentioned above), therefore even though it's not grammatically correct, you'll find people using it a lot.

"low-quality" (forgot the dash). - Again, you're TECHNICALLY right. The purpose of using a dash is to bind the two (or more) words, usually the adjective and the noun (just like in this example), so that people would understand that the adjective describes that very noun. I didn't think it was necessary to put it because I think that people get the picture that the word "low" belongs (describes) the word "quality".

"weapons dealer" (you wrote "the weapon his dealer"). - OMG! When did I put an apostrophe sign?! I don't remember at all :S You're totally right about this one!

"Neanderthals" (capital letter). - I know that :vw_unimpressed:But in this term, I wasn't describing the actual Neanderthal race, but rather using it as a comparison resemblance. But if it bothers you that much, I'll put the capital "N" in it :D

"below" (typo) - What? No I didn't! Check again.

"So, either buy this or GTFO!!! Noob!" I don't exactly like a description like that, but that's a personal opinion. - Awww, come on! Don't be so uptight :D This is the perfect example of Leet (1337) way of talking. In other words, it's the ultimate slang! You can find it on any forum, anywhere!

"So if you" (no comma here I think). I put a comma there as a way to specify the pronouncing the sentence: "So, (pause) if you..." Try saying it out loud and see for you self :)

"from one piece of full metal" (The "a" shouldn't be there afaik). - Yeah, I thought about wether an article should be there or not. But it was very late and my head was a mess so I just put the "a" there not thinking (or rather, not being able to think) much about it.

Phew! There you have it :D Thank you SOOO much for this!

P.S. I'm not native English (American) either, but that doesn't deny the fact that I (as well as you) can speak their language better than the half of them!

Fixed (totally three letters changed!) version here: http://www.hiveworkshop.com/forums/pastebin_data/bxuwjc/_files/Weapons.docx

P.P.S. If you don't mind, I also did the food and plants description (-Kobas- already posted it in this thread); so can you take a peak at it for me? I'd be very grateful if you do! :vw_love:

Yay epic feedback, thanks a lot ap0 :aht:
I can start working on item systems then :)
But no there won't be custom screen inventory, this must be fast game, and easy to play, only 5 or 6 item classes (helm, armor, shield, 1 hand weapon, 2 hand weapon)
hero invertory, backpack for unused items and bag for herbs and other misc items :)

Fast and easy...

Of course you can. I saw quite a few errors in your response to ap0, but just ignore me.

Relax, I wont spam anyone. I couldn't care less about trolls like Midnighters; in fact, I'll follow his advice and just ignore him 'cause guys like him aren't even worth mentioning.

Now on topic: The potions are 80% completed - expect them done by tonight.

Small note about common items:
Iron set is mostly used in starting area
Steel set is mostly used in heartlands zone (I need to create this, will be in demo)

But there will be more sets as well:
Imperial
Mithril
Crystal
Divine

Also don't forget for uncommon, enchanted, rare, unique and legendary items... (less in numbers but more awesome ones and more powerful)
Uncommon will add few simple bonuses, legendary will add large number of UBER awesome bonuses ^^

Also items shown as common so far are mostly used by Squire class, in fact only he can carry those mail armors...
As soon as I add new class (make it available for playing) new items will be added (clothes and so on).

I agree with ap0calypse, this is not funny.

"So if you" (no comma here I think). I put a comma there as a way to specify the pronouncing the sentence: "So, (pause) if you..." Try saying it out loud and see for you self :)

Both of you are correct, just remember that when you place a comma after an introductory so, another comma should usually follow later in the sentence.

"from one piece of full metal" (The "a" shouldn't be there afaik). - Yeah, I thought about whether an article should be there or not. But it was very late and my head was a mess so I just put the "a" there without thinking (or rather, without being able to think) much about it.

Couldn't resist the urge to correct this.

P.S. I'm not native English (American) either, but that doesn't deny the fact that I (as well as you) can speak their language better than the half of them!

This sentence is grammatically wrong. I love irony.

-------------------

I also checked the food descriptions. The yellow color means that it should be removed.

Fried Chicken Leg
A food of choice amongst the poor people, this chicken leg is all they can count on after a day’s long work since they can't afford for anything else. Even though it’s not very big, it is enough to satisfy their suppressed appetite.

Sausage Chain
Called “KOBAS” in native’s language (Should either be "in the natives' language" or "in native language".), this sausage chain is exactly the thing a fat land owner would want as a snack during the day. As for the rest, working class people, just one of these chains can serve the whole family as dinner.

Roasted Chicken
This is a real feast for those who can afford to have it for lunch. It can feed a family, however, if eaten by one man, it’ll be enough to hold off his hunger for a long time.

Rye-Baked Sliced Bread
This is a typical, market sold bread for the masses. It is cheap, and its purpose is simple - to satisfy the basic hunger needs of poor and working class people (as well as to stop them from rebelling).

Now, after all the bitterness above, comes the sweet part. These are very well-made descriptions, much better than the ones I tried to make. Keep up the good writing.

Well I added food to make it more funny, instead of healing potions you can eat apple and other items to restore hit points and mana points.

Potions in my game will be more powerful, drinking potions you will increase for set amount of time or permanently hero stats (evasion, item drop rate, critical and so on), attributes, damage, armor and so on...

@ The_Mirai:
Haha, sorry about that :D
I prefer a more formal way of speech, so that's probably the reason I tend to be more "technically correct" instead of using slang.

The_Mirai said:
"below" (typo) - What? No I didn't! Check again.
I just did, it says "bellow level 70" (double l).
It's for the Rusty Iron Axe though.

You are right about that.
Still, I hope you don't mind if I, personally, find the "GTFO!!! Noob!" a bit unnecessary? :D

@Lich Prince: this isn't a competition or anything.
Truth is that a lot of Americans aren't able to write properly (your/you're is still a very common mistake although I often find it obvious what to write down, I blame laziness for the people who still get that wrong).
We aren't saying that Americans suck at English either, that would clearly be a false statement. I did chat with Americans before (who hasn't these days?) and I could tell that what they said was often incorrect (not only to 'shorten their sentences so they don't have to type that much', also some basic mistakes which I genuinely dislike).

Kobas said:

Good idea ^^
A bit different from most games, where potions are "basic equipment", bit a good kind of different :)

Guys I fu love blizzard, I played diablo for like 4 hours and gained so many ideas, just check this out!

There will be around 20 - 30 abilities in map...
All levelable (will see how much)
Well you already know this above, but ↓

I will create "mastery" abilities, somebody already mentioned this but in a little different contest...

Examples:
Summoning Mastery
If hero learn this ability, summoned units will last longer, deal more damage, regenerate hp faster and so on :)
Melee Combat Mastery
Increase damage, critical chance and so on :)
...

Player will be able to create anything from his base hero class, he can add summoning like spells to squire, or combat mastery to wizard :)

There will be 2 kind of summoned units:
- Normal units, can attack and so on
- Special units, without attack, but instead of that they give armor, damage and so on (mostly auras)

Well because there is no way to make craft systems like in diablo, (well there is but, lol who will create 1000+ items in wc3 to simulate that, triggers will be 100 pages long ^^) I have idea how to edit that a little :)

Well that's for now guys, I won't show you everything, I have few surprises :p

After being castrated and my penis cut in half by ap0calypse and Lich Prince, I changed my custom user title into <----------

Here are the potions: http://www.hiveworkshop.com/forums/pastebin_data/hpwtrk/_files/Potions.docx

The amount of creativity invested in them = 0, so don't bother clicking on the link.

A personal note about myself: everything I know about English language is SELF-TAUGHT!!! I had never taken private classes from it, because I even skipped the regular school ones. I study complex machinery and material composition in college, while spinning on my head in free time; therefore, the descriptions I try so hard to come up with isn't to try and prove I'm some kind of a badass, but because -Kobas- is my best friend in real life, and I try my best to help him with the only thing I (allegedly) know - English. That's the only reason I have a profile on THW! So, if you don't like me - SUCK ME!

Oh about special summons, will it work like this?
You summon Owl Spirit. So it's an owl that has locust so cannot be selected, it has brilliance aura so increases your energy regen, and it's trrigered to follow you. After some time it times out or it gets removed when you summon some other psecial units like that.
Actually that's a really cool idea, haven't seen anything like that even in other games! Well I just remember the Ring of Summonin mod in TES4, that worked some similar way...

Oh, having the special summons as some pets would be awesome... like a Pack Rack that increases your cash loot, Owl Spirit, Mystical Wolf that roars periodically, scaring enemies or buffing character...

Thanks a lot buddy :)
Well I will try to keep it simple, without so many systems and epic 10 trigger needed spells and so on...
Maybe progress look a little slow now, but I am working on story so I want to be sure not to forget something and so on...

When I finish that part it will be easy to copy and paste items and edit stats, add few more creeps and make terrain :)

Point is I should finish this :)
Month or 2 but this year for sure ^^
