Nekros Skullcrusher was the second to Zuluhed the Whacked, chieftain of the Dragonmaw clan, and was entrusted as both warden of the dragonqueen Alexstrasza and wielder of the Demon Soul that held her prisoner.

Hurkan Skullsplinter was the Chieftain of the Bonechewer clan before the invasion of Draenor. At one point, he gained possession of the Skull of Gul'dan. Hurkan was killed for the skull by Grommash Hellscream, who had been sent to retrieve it by Ner'zhul.
