Basically, as you may have remembered, I was very wishy-washy about the souped-up Batrider's weapon; I was looking for something different enough from the existing Batrider (flaming bottles), but still fitting to their Role (long-range Siege) and their animations (throwing/tossing).
Since I couldn't decide but you had life to get back to, : ), I ended up soft-deciding on 'flaming torches' (which you graciously imported the Wind Rider's anims for). However, after a lot of thought (and a very fortuitous discussion with a coworker who gave the seed of the idea), I think I have a work-able solution.
Basically, going from the angle of "armed by their fellow 'witch doctors'", the Bom-bat-ier should wield an explosive concoction that detonates with great force upon enemy targets. The big difference here is unlike the flaming-potion-bottles of the Batrider, the Bom-bat-ier would wield concussively-explosive bottles; if you've played Starcraft 2, perfect example is the Terran Marauders; ranged concussive missile-type projectiles that explode, dealing extra damage to Armored opponents. Moreoever, instead of tossing them via leather thong, their delivery-method would be a bit more advanced (but still tribal); something you may have used to play 'catch' with a dog:

I don't know if you've ever used one of these, but those things throw far!! Basically, giving this guy a super-long-ranged-throwing device (tribal-style), and outfitting him with concussively-explosive potions (probably something whitish, not sure; I've already made a modded Steam Tank explosion SFX (for the "effect on hit") to see if it would work, and it's (nearly) perfect)... Well, let's just say I really think it would work well. Fits the Theme, fits the Role, and shouldn't be too hard to make (I hope).
So to organize all that, "Please:"
Remove the flaming torch (and possibly the Wind Rider attack-anim?)
Create a weapon similar to the ones depicted above (esp #4, with the shape of #1,2 probably), holding a (clear? moddable SFX?) spherical potion-bottle.
Use animations fitting for a long-ranged 'lobbing'-type attack (perhaps even original Batrider, but otherwise Wind Rider or whatever you see fit).
