  • Hey Retera, ever considered using the method I made public here for your stuff? The reason I am asking is because it'd be nice to play your mod on official servers with almost anyone.

    When your done could I do it for you if you don't want too? I can make an installer so people don't even have to download separate files and put them into a folder, the installer would do it for them and then all they have to do is just two clicks basically or well hopefully. I still am learning installers myself.
    I have a question regariding the matrix eater...
    In earlier versions, sometimes the import function simple didn't work on certain models. Clicking on the import button nothing happened at all. But that were just certain models.

    When I try to do it now although, it doesn't work at all, with no model. Am I missing anything new I should have installled? I have the newest java version.

    Messed around this evening and worked on a Arch-Druid hero concept (hero version of druids).

    It's still kinda buggy, and the legality of submitting it would need to be assessed because it currently runs on the Heaven's Fall v2 script library imported into the map (which is primarily Vexorian's Caster System and Spell Template System).

    So, to reiterate, this attachment is totally just a WIP.

    Hey I tested the models in game. The Sealed Python does eventually go away now but it shrinks down to a very small model and then sits there for a few seconds.

    Sounds like some legit ideas! Maybe sometime soon I'll get to doing this, been messing around with the idea of "Heaven's Fall 2" (which would probably more accurately just be a very big remastering/finishing of existing content and ideas) and gotten myself distracted.

    On a side note, some people have asked me if they could have the Bom-bat-ier you made. I directed them to you (since you made it), but they said you weren't answering them. So is it OK if I let people have it (If I decide to release it)?I really thought I had somebody ask me this question also, and I thought I had forwarded that request into a private message headed your way, but maybe I hadn't done that right.

    I'd say before any more time goes on of us asking each other, let's OK them using it for the bettering of all future warcraft content but ask them to give credit to the idea designer as well as the model designer (us) for their combined efforts.

    Sure, sure. Actually, while I'd love credit (ideas is all I do, & it's free advertising!), I won't be bent out of shape if not; I mean, it's really rather simple ("souped-up/different Batrider"), and Ideas usually come from so many places...
    Mind if i ask for one more thing?

    Would it be possible to send me a version of the Void God model where its height is lowered so that the tip of the [tail?] touches the ground?

    Basically, as you may have remembered, I was very wishy-washy about the souped-up Batrider's weapon; I was looking for something different enough from the existing Batrider (flaming bottles), but still fitting to their Role (long-range Siege) and their animations (throwing/tossing).

    Since I couldn't decide but you had life to get back to, : ), I ended up soft-deciding on 'flaming torches' (which you graciously imported the Wind Rider's anims for). However, after a lot of thought (and a very fortuitous discussion with a coworker who gave the seed of the idea), I think I have a work-able solution.

    Basically, going from the angle of "armed by their fellow 'witch doctors'", the Bom-bat-ier should wield an explosive concoction that detonates with great force upon enemy targets. The big difference here is unlike the flaming-potion-bottles of the Batrider, the Bom-bat-ier would wield concussively-explosive bottles; if you've played Starcraft 2, perfect example is the Terran Marauders; ranged concussive missile-type projectiles that explode, dealing extra damage to Armored opponents. Moreoever, instead of tossing them via leather thong, their delivery-method would be a bit more advanced (but still tribal); something you may have used to play 'catch' with a dog:

    Basically the above, but #3 is a bit of an interesting take (not necessarily my fave, just another angle)

    Where #4 is probably the closest thing to what I'm truly thinking of:

    I don't know if you've ever used one of these, but those things throw far!! Basically, giving this guy a super-long-ranged-throwing device (tribal-style), and outfitting him with concussively-explosive potions (probably something whitish, not sure; I've already made a modded Steam Tank explosion SFX (for the "effect on hit") to see if it would work, and it's (nearly) perfect)... Well, let's just say I really think it would work well. Fits the Theme, fits the Role, and shouldn't be too hard to make (I hope).

    So to organize all that, "Please:"
    Remove the flaming torch (and possibly the Wind Rider attack-anim?)
    Create a weapon similar to the ones depicted above (esp #4, with the shape of #1,2 probably), holding a (clear? moddable SFX?) spherical potion-bottle.
    Use animations fitting for a long-ranged 'lobbing'-type attack (perhaps even original Batrider, but otherwise Wind Rider or whatever you see fit).
    ...
    Profit!

    Let me know if that makes sense (and more importantly, isn't too much to ask). Thanks again!

    About that, It seem my Anti-virus doesn't want me to download it, due to the file may contain virus.

    I currently using Windows 7, I can't remember if it has an OpenGL, The graphics, hmmm, just about to be standard Windows 7 graphics. I also got this problem from the last version. It shows those 4 Debug thingies, then I can't see the model texture in perspective view. In the new version, the perspective is completely not visible.
    (If it involves, sometimes I use AnimTransfer, Vertex Editor, Yobguls model converter or those tools that come from Wc3c.net, Its model view is also not visible, only the vertices)

    I'm getting used to Matrix Eater, I keep watching your Tutorials, but there is something I been wondering, in this image, It doesn't show the Perspective view, and what model I open, its the same as this. Why?

    for the hero glow adder maybe you can make it like this
    when the button is clicked let the user type the size of the hero glow
    and then create 4 point with the right wrapping with the texture scaled to the requested size using origin as the centre and attach it to bone_root
    or maybe add the hero glow model inside the program and when the button is clicked just basicly import the hero glow and attacth to bone root... (this is nice if it is in matrix eater)

    anyway... im just giving suggestion as i know how to add hero glow manually :p but some people don't (just like the disarm) so just make a nice button for them xd

    thanks, really appreciate it. i was successful at one time though, combining grunt and beastmaster anims. but i guess its because they have pretty much the same bone and mesh structure and i don't have to change anything that much.
    Actually, the only two problems I have are the modification crashing almost everytime, and I cannot access Warcraft III.
    Do you also happen to know how to un-install it?
    (You can also be a big help if you help me with the modification problem, the mod is amazing, I have to admit)

    Unfortunately, I've installed your modification thousands of times, but it still gets tons of errors.

    In order to reduce my anger, I tried to play the original Warcraft. It did not work. It said it couldn't find the Warcraft itself.
    So how do I un-install it, mr? (Yes, I've already clicked both the help buttons, I also ran it by administrator.)
