Battle of Mjelvar

This is a strategy map where you either controll the Orcs or the Humans (2 orc players, 1 human player+civilian(computer) you can play as 1 orc too.) The missions of the 2 races are simple. The orcs shall slaughter every human in their way. But the head mission to win the map is to defeat the king under 40 minutes. The Humans shall defend their kingdom agianst the orcs for 40 minutes without the king dies. Gate commands for humans is existing in Quest log(F9). Map is made by me : Zervag and my brother Hellkid. screenshot of map is coming soon... All ready played this map on Battle Netwith some random people and they seemed to enjoy it and i hope you do to;)

Edited: Now fixed Icons, spells, reduced hero numbers with 4 heroes, now a command list for orcs and changed spells on Lord Garithos, Human king, and orc Blademaster.

To add a preview image, resize the image to 256x256 or 128x128 using gimp and save it as .tga. Import the image and change its path to 'war3mapPreview.tga'.

I'm assuming this is your first map, so before I download and review this map you should consider adding some stuff to it.

-Longer description
-Screenshots/video if you have any tools for getting those.
-Features of the map
-Organize it into meaningful paragraphs, please just dont jumble all into one single paragraph, it's an eyesore
-Include if it's protected or not, since that can be a big download factor.
-Make your map sound interesting or at least different than others of its kind

Generally you want your resource to look interesting and professional. Since this is probably your first submission, I'll clue you in a bit. Use Color, use bold, italics, or even underline to make your map description more interesting. This does not mean Spam a bunch of random features. Use them sparingly to full effect. Another good idea is to utilize hidden tabs. Click the magnifying glass in upper right corner of advanced message

Review of Battle for Mjelvar

Lets get this over with . . .

I'm going to be a lot more straight up with you than most because I feel you understand it and will try to improve on what I say :)

+Large scale map
+A lot going on in terms of action
+Lots of custom units
+Large usage of imported models
+Decently fun


-Bad tooltips, especially on units
-No multiboard (did have sub-par timer)
-Lots and lots of leaks in many triggers
-Hard to keep track of everything because of the large scale of the game
-You didn't use a single custom ability, everything was exactly the same as in the default game
-Why would I ever need 8+ heroes?
-Icons do not match units at all . . .
-No credits for resources
-No "How to Play", only quest that explains anything is about gates

This map needs some work


Gameplay was fun but became stale quickly. The infuriatingly low quality of tooltips and icons also affected this. There were no custom spells, and I'm pretty sure you didn't change a single ability on Lord Garithos (exact same as in campaign). The map is freaking huge when it doesn't need to be. I can't find a specific unit when I want to, and it's hard to keep track of the giant spam fuck of heroes you gave me (that were all the same -_-). Yeah all the heroes were the exact same, except one. Giving the king divine shield allowed me to draw out the game pointlessly for 45 seconds longer.

Terrain sucked balls

Triggers leak and nothing special about them

There really was no difference between axemen and town guard, except that axe men cost 1/13.5 of what town guard cost.

To sum up this relatively short review, this map is unbalanced, leaks, and not much change to abilities.

Battle of Mjelvar is a 2/5 map

This map has hope, do not give up on it! Take some time, fix it, resubmit, and pm me for re-rate. But this map is not approvable in its current state, especially with the rather lacking description.


-Fix tooltips
-Fix leaks (look up a tutorial)
-Improve spells
-Remove that useless spamfuck of heroes
-Make icons match units
-Balance this map


Btw, if I seemed slightly irritated when reviewing, it's cause I only got 4 hours of sleep, nothing personal.

Thank you for your review i Will try improve What you said needs to be redone btw if you had 8 heroes as orcs it,s since orcs shall be 2 players and i made à trigger doing if à orc player either leaves or dont play from the begining then all orc Units belongs to the only orc player but map Will be improved
