People bad new, I am going on village today,...
Does anybody have a reference as to what this means? It sounds cultural and I'm not sure I follow. :<

Kyrbi0 - your spell have 3 acting (entire spell) and none variable, leaking stuff. Man, I know we are in friendzone, but this, oh, man 3 actions. You could at least use call RemoveLoaction.
I know you're not here to respond, but just to clear the air:

  • I coulda sworn I used custom script to remove leaks... I really didn't use "removelocation"? Huh. Well, shame on me. :p
  • "Friendzone"? Ah, that's sweet. However, I wouldn't want you to vote for me on that (alone). See, it may have only had "3 Actions" as you point out, but like I said before; my strong point wouldn't be my coding.
  • Really what I was hoping to get across was a neat, unique & simple Spell (Zephyr) idea. Not some flashy "SFX MY PING IS DYING" ability that only fits as an ultimate or a campaign-special-effect, but a tactical, powerful and useful spell.
  • Think about it; a spell that warps the target & a small cadre of nearby friendly troops towards a target unit, clustering around him & stunning him. That can be used in a variety of situations, as a variety of spells: a teleportation spell for a warmage (what I did), a tactical Assault spell for a tribal chieftain (what I'm doing elsewhere :3), a group "Leap & Pounce" spell for a mounted warrior women, etc.
  • Moreover, the spell itself (being simple & made up of even simpler base-spells) can be modified as the user wants to an increasing range of useful abilities; can be made to Buff/Debuff the Target Unit (stun, poison, slow, etc?), can be made to target a Point, not (only) a Unit (then it's really group-teleport), can be made to teleport enemies instead of friendlies (warp enemies away from the caster***) (a great-cleave that knocks everyone back), or, if reversed, to teleport enemies towards the caster (say a "Riptide" on a Naga "Royal Guard" hero, rushing enemies towards the hero's mighty trident***).
  • Stuff like that. Basically I am hoping people will look at what the spells actually do and could be used for, as well as the coding (which mine, admittedly, fails at :p (or does it... Technically, aside from the one leak, it's really quite simple... you might almost say "elegant". Hard to mess up, even for a newbie :p)).

Anyway, no hard feelings. Just wanted to get that out there.

***: These are totally cool spell ideas that I don't want stolen. (lol yeah right). Expect to see them somewhere in my works...

@moyack - Configuration is there, well coded, spell is well based on theme, but for me somethings is missing, I dont know maybe, more side effects (not special effects, that like, slow, aoe mana/damage drain or such).
This spell damage units in a AOE, plus the damage done by the spirits... I don't like to spam effects, this promotes the overpower in a spell.
Also I think I can order then to move so I think that is minus(at least for me). Spell is not totaly tested.
No so directly, in fact I abuse of the ward classification to avoid the command card orders (move, attack, etc). If they move is by their own. Besides you can configure the spell so this units get Locust behavior and in this way you avoid movement by the user.

Thanks for reviewing.

Mckill2009 - this spell is based on portal (what is missing to some of this), your spell uses a lot of coding, and sure I cannot test it now, also I dont like how spell looks like (effects), it is too holy/lighty and then I see skeletons and demons spawn, I would make it much more darker, purpler :). Configuration is okay, but it could be better if you have added more description, coding as well I am not expert but I am starting to get it :).
So far only thing I dont like are effects.
Thx for the brief review, as you said, it's configuration is OK so you may adjust the colors to darker, what's done is done...Ima post this hero to the spell's section anyway...

I don't really mind which we is given (though it DEFINITELY should've been stated in the original post before the contest started mind you, now is a bit late to debate this because it can easily be played to the favour of certain people (i.e. somebody on lower votes may vote for a high importance on judging so that they stand a better chance) etc. etc.

personally, I'd rather have something like 60:40, just seems wrong for the poll to have an equal or majority effect on the outcome.

If someone was to judge this contest he could be quite unhappy seeing this view in his folder, not being able to tell whose entry he is reviewing:

This person might even subtract some points from the final score because of this.

wasn't specified as a requirement - subtracting points based on it would strictly be unfair to all contestants

Edit: besides, some of the more basic things (include screenshot of spell in your final submission post) were not followed by all contestants, so if one -was- to do that, they'd also have to subtract based on that, but again, wasn't specified as a marking criteria.

Except for MEEEEEE!!...

I dunno, it seems like that should be stated in the contest rules. For exactly the reason you're stating. Standardized contest entry requirements is another great thing found at Wc3C.net. :p

I agreed to judge the contest after the poll was already over. At that time I was unemployed so I had plenty of free time. But surprisingly, I got a full time job, which I didn't even apply for. I'm also trying to qualify for the national team in table soccer so that takes a lot of time too.

I've tested all the spells and looked at the triggers/coding, but have not written any reviews yet. I have a day off on Friday and nothing special planned for Saturday, so I'll do some reviewing then.

I'm sorry that it has taken so long.

Not a problem. Life gets in the way; I've been sitting on a tonne of tasks I've been meaning to do. To be honest, at a time when so many are struggling to find any employment, I'm glad to hear you got some full-time work.

Look forward to the results. :p

Thanks for the response. I'm sure everyone can relate.
