World of Warcraft: Heroes Return is a total conversion Multiplayer Open Role Playing Game (MORPG) that inspired from original World of Warcraft franchise that developed by Blizzard. I'm trying to made 1st ever WoW total conversion in multiplayer ORPG version (as I haven't seen any). Though it's a WoW total conversion project, I'm trying to keep the size low by reducing each model polies, as well as unnecessary keyframes on models animation, so most of the WoW materials I'm using in are edited for personal usage on this project. My aim on this project is to create a simple yet fancy and fun gameplay with eye catching fantasy-like terrain and effect that able to made the players has a World of Warcraft feeling when playing the game. As an ORPG, the project is designed to be played by multiplayer in order to experience a better result playing the game (especially for ORPG fans).
There's three type of creeps on the map: Normal, Elite and Boss which is carefully developed and has their own attributes and abilities to made the battle challenging instead of total hack and slash on a battle. Normal and Elite type creeps can be found around world map and will respawn each time you kill them. Meanwhile Boss can only be found exclusivelly on a dungeon and require a teamwork with other players of your team in order to bring it down due to Boss type creeps aren't designed to be battled solo. Boss doesn't spawn when they died so player only able to beat them once per game. There's also a Special Boss as a game objective, Deathwing, that will respawn and flying around the map bring catclysm after 1-2 hours of gameplay (red fog activate when death wing respawn) and will landed on certain area. The first team able to beat him is the winner and will be rewarded with exclusive item. If no team able to beat him after 5 hours of gameplay, the game will be over. Boss aren't fully scripted and Special Boss aren't available yet on released test version.
My aim is to made each 10 classes from various races from original WoW available on the game (Monk and Pandaren race is outcluded). There are currently 7 classes from original World of Warcraft available, 6 playable (Human Paladin, Draenei Priest, Blood Elf Mage (Fire), Human Mage (Ice), Orc Death Knight (Blood) and Night Elf Rogue) and 1 secret class (Undead Death Knight (Frost)) which can be played by entering a secret code that you can get as you play the game further. I'm using model from a lore character at the moment for each class for certain reasons (which might be change into actual class and non-lore model later in the future). Character concept is still temporary, might be change anytime as the update progress.
Playable Classes
Playable Class: Arms Warrior
Battle-hardened masters of heavy weapons, using mobility and overpowering attacks to strike their opponents down.

Left Hand: Book
Armor: Cloth
Playable Class: Holy Priest
A versatile healer who can increase damage on individuals or groups and even a linked heal that able to heal ally from afar.

Secret Characters
Secret Character: Arthas Menethil
Arthas Menethil, Crown Prince of Lordaeron and Knight of the Silver Hand, was the son of King Terenas Menethil II and heir to the throne. He was trained as a paladin by Uther the Lightbringer, and had a romantic relationship with the kind sorceress Jaina Proudmoore.
Equipment of Choices:
Right Hand: Sword, Axe, Mace, Polearm, Dagger
Left Hand: Shield
Armor: Plate
Secret Character: Grom Hellscream
Grom Hellscream was the chieftain of the Warsong clan, and best friend and chief advisor to Warchief Thrall. He was the first orc who drank the blood of Mannoroth the Destructor, thus binding the Horde to the Burning Legion — and he would eventually pay the ultimate price to free himself and his people from the curse.

Right Hand: Sword, Axe, Mace, Polearm, Dagger
Left Hand: Shield
Armor: Plate
Instead of medievalist one, I'd go for a fantasy theme kind of terrain for the project. Some cracked area terrain on this project is inspired from World of Warcraft: Cataclysm patch when there's a crack on land filled with magma deep in caused by Deathwing. Here's picked sneak peek screenshots terrain of early alpha release (check the pages for more screenshots that's not included on first main page or on my album). These terrain design are still temporary and will be change and improved from time to time as the project progressing by.
This early alpha release is only for testing purpose and still far away from finish, any suggestions, feedback and bugs report on the project will be pretty much appreciated.

- Weaponry Merchant and Armory Merchant are now available (Each city sells different stuff)

I have been a great fan of your many projects but sadly most of them didnt make it or you didnt finish it. And I wish that you will be able to finish this project.
Those terrain screenshot looks cool and is appealing though quite disturbed by the terrain's flatness and I think you could add more environmental doodads such as rocks.
Overall, my best wish for this christmas is you finish this. Reps for the awesome project!
alot of personal stuff happen which made me come and go, and I always ended up with wc3 mod since it's made me felt better each time I'm touching the projects. I personally would try on my best on this one as my final project I want to complete till the end on my hardest time like this, and end my curiousity to made mmo-like visual map on wc3. I'll release this project on december 25th if possible, as a gift of christmas to everyone.

And i think it should be human priest and draenei paladin and orc warrior.
I was wondering if there will be Alliance and Horde, multiplayer, etc....
@yousef thank you, I'm a fan of WoW myself but not playing the game anymore, I'd be using the legends each of perspective race for the models atm. and yes, it's multiplayer since it's ORPG.

That looks great so far! The terrain is very clean, and you did a nice job of including the WoW models without making them look out of place. Good luck on your project! It looks promising.
ah, actually I used to be member of warcraft unlimited and warcraft underground back when they used forumcircle as their host. and formerly one of the founder of chaos realm, then retired and quit at may 2012. maybe that's why you ever seen my name somewhere before.
I had currently 179 imported files on the map, and the current map size is like 4,68 at the moment. (including loading screen and map preview cover)
Warcraft Underground has moved since then. we are now using freeforums.
Its quite sad what happened to Warcraft Unlimited

haha it also including icons as well, that's why there's alot of it. I'll try to finish the project and release alpha version on december 25 if possible so people can have a try on the map.
hmmm.. I think I'm not intend to using custom sound since it'll be better to use the remaining file size for another materials needed. but let's see it later.
sound files is considerable though, depending on the size since this is multiplayer so I can't just adding stuff (aim to be 5mb on 1st release so I still have 3mb left for next updates), and the gameplay on the video is temporary only for alpha release, I just think that I need to made a release first to see hows the response and feedback about the project. hehe
anyway, new city wip: (unit placed is only for size comparison)
if you notice the fence, it's texture might looks quite messy since I'm using the texture from the wood part of the house to save another size.
it's actually leaf trees that I use on previous forest, but change the color via RGB and made it into pine-like tree on WE since I think it's more fit that way on that area and saving more size rather than import another model of tree.
Edit:
Instead of made a double post so.. here's current progress so far:
- New creeps.
- Balancing creeps status on Object Editor, as well as made abilities for each of them. (tried them in-game)
- Currently made and adding additional abilities (via spellbook) for each hero based off their class, currently 3 for each of them (2 passive, 1 active).
- Revamping some main abilities for heroes.
- Doing terrain revision.
- Currently made a terrain for dungeon.
