Vista limits ram usage, I can for example only use 3 gb ram out of the 5 gb ram installed on my pc. So actually it's worse.

Actually windows 7 updates will keep your PC up-to-date with using all of your resources, thats what I have heared.

I'm guessing you're using 32-bit vista then;

Physical Memory Limits (Things other than RAM will eat into these limits):

32-bit versions of Windows Vista Home Basic, Home Premium, Business, Enterprise, and Ultimate: 4GB
32-bit Windows Vista Starter: 1GB
64-bit versions of Windows Vista Home Basic: 8GB
64-bit versions of Windows Vista Home Premium: 16GB
64-bit versions of Windows Vista Business, Enterprise, and Ultimate: 128GB

The 32 bit vista caps your memory to 4 GB intotal, this includeds, GRAM from graphics cards, and main RAM. Especially with modern ATI cards which have up to 2 GB of graphics RAM, you could quite easilly end up with no normal RAM. Thus it is recommendable to go 64 bit as more and more RAM is used. My bros PC has 1 GB graphics and 4 GB normal yet only has 1 GB graphics and 3 GB normal due to 32 bit cap.

How ironic... I downloaded windows 7 at my pc here... with a 0.5mbit band'witch'. The download took 15 hours. Then, I went to my other pc at my dad... and it took me 30minutes to get the os again.

And by the way, microsoft have decided to extend the limit of downloads for w7 to the 29th of january or something like that. And the beta will be available and runnable until the first of August. Then we will have to go back to a licenced version of xp, vista or the released w7.

Those are the microsoft limits for vista [Link], although it's true the computers processor can generally handle a lot more.

To be more accurate the distribution of serial keys will stop on January 24th.

Ah, yeah, I didnt know the precise fact about it. But then I wonder, then the beta you are downloading must be created with a specific checksum just for your given cdkey at that moment?

They hand out random serial keys. It'll generate an unlimited amount of serial keys before January 24th. You can download after January 24th but you won't be giving a key.

According to what I've read, the support from xp drivers are working with w7 (probably not all of them though). I havent decided if I am going to test mine on 32bit or 64, but my pc is built for 64bit, so I guess it will be w7-64 then.

The 64bit version is pure awesome.

TIP! To take advantage of the fast boot you have to set the "Power Plan" to "High Performance."

Bad thing is if you have Vista Installed, Windows 7 Installed onto different Hard Drives/Partions.

For some strange odd reason it ruins your Vista system files.... So i'm just going to wait now till Windows 7 comes out for real, and just download it then.

Windows 7 runs well. Nothing wrong with it beside the annoying Daemon tool incompatibility issue.
