Today, I did at least ten side-quests in Mass Effect 2 so I could put off losing my crew to getting abducted by the Keepers.

That happens after doing the Reaper IFF mission, right?

Yep. WC3 is so much more productive than WoW! I mean, you can make games so other people can waste more time!

If you're gonna waste time tho, might as well use it on something enjoyable.

Doctor claims 40 percent of World of Warcraft players are addicted
A few years ago, when I was working at Electronic Arts, a coworker of mine had a problem. He spent much of his time playing Sony's massively multiplayer on-line roleplaying game EverQuest, and when he wasn't playing it, he was talking about it, posting to online forums about it, or dreaming about the next time he could log on. He played obsessively, often signing on as soon as he got home from work. Predictably, his behavior had a negative impact on his family and social life, and eventually cost him his job.

Many of us have known people like my coworker. The problems of online gaming addiction date back to the days of text-based MUDs, but in more recent years terms like "Evercrack" and "World of Warcrack" have entered the popular lexicon. Now, Dr. Maressa Hecht Orzack, a clinical psychologist at McLean Hospital in Massachusetts, has come forward to claim that up to 40 percent of World of Warcraft players are addicted to the game.

...

A link to the statistic.

I can stop mapping / playing wc3 at any time.
Ask a WoW player to stop his instance for 20 minutes.

Ask any WC3 player to leave a ladder game for 20 minutes.

One random doctor claiming a random percent of players like the game more than others is hardly compelling evidence.

Yay, fringe cases are fun. Because, you know, there certainly aren't any more games where people get too absorbed by it. It's not like a guy just recently became enraged with Call of Duty and threw his cat against the wall, killing it. No sir, WoW is the only game ever that makes people craaaaaaaazy, man.

On topic: Just kidding, I'm not going on-topic.

I just month ago cancelled my subscription and havent bought any more. But if I am sooo addicted how is this even possible?
:

Just you wait till the next patch/expansion comes and you'll be all over it once more.
At least 75 % of my friends that are gamers and has played or are playing wow can't stop. I am the only one (with no intention of bragging) that has been able to stop completely. Stopped half a year ago and haven't even considered beginning to play once more. On my friends side though, sadly, I can't say the same. Most of them have stopped playing and then resubscribing and continued playing so many times I can't even count to it. If you are once stuck in the World of Warcraft, you hardly ever get out of it. Even if you think so yourself.

I'm surprised to see that there's such a huge amount of Hivers who play WoW. I've been clean for around 7 months now. As leet said though, I wonder if I can resist the itch to try the new Worgen race and quests.

On-Topic: Got informed that anything related to politics was banned in the Uni I attend, bummer.

haha, +rep I love how you to refer to it as "being clean" ;)

I ranked up in Halo Reach.. played a little Force Unleashed 2, which is surprisingly very fun, at about 2 in the morning. All I did was play on Xbox today.
