Well if God exists now, and if he didn't exist I would have to say I would actually do something about anything. 1. You cannot believe in light and science, they're different things. It's like saying you believe in the letter A and cat food.
2. It states in the christian (and maybe muslim, don't know) doctrine that we humans have free will meaning we can do whatever we want, so your argument that 'all people should believe in that god' is totally false. Using your way of thinking, if science is the true thing, then why not all people believe in 'light and science'. Be reasonable.
3. If you ask people you won't hear them saying that earth is 5000 years old. That's just lame, I don't know where you heard that as being true in religion (Well at least not in orthodox christianity; I asked my teacher and she said that's false, she agrees that earth is billions of years old).
